What do you listen to? This is not THAT mainstream in my opinion. There's alot of stuff in this song that ain't that mainstream, accept for the chorus. But I see what you mean...the song is constructed like a pop-song. But I believe some artists disguise their songs as being a little bit poppy to reach more people; but of course you could say that about any artist you like to defend him/her from being mainstream.

But yes, I loved SOAD which was more radical and wacky than this, thrash metal, some good old grunge (soundgarden), and if you want more electronic stuff, then I would go for dark beats and darker drum and bass, or if you prefer trip hop, portishead, massive attack, tricky... etc... overall more radical stuff no matter the genre of sounds... guess I am just the typical "anti" type.
