i dont know what you all talkin about skills and cheating shit... every time i play on arkanoid i hit the boss every time.. maybe becouse i play this game back then all the time thats why i was so good.. besides it was too many shooting bricks bonus in normal amiga mode it was very rare
This gameplay is not real. It is a fraud. No human being can perfect and flawlessly play it like this. Think, look, and reason.. Or he made a computer do this, or he is very good with his computer..
@thecalvinclone couldn't help reading your comment regarding cheating. I have to agree with you. I don't take longplays especially emulator ones seriously. They are usually tooled-up and are only good for seeing later levels and end sequences, apart from that it's not the same as loading the actual game on your Amiga. Savestates, tooled-up,...its still cheating (check wikipedia) Some games are just not meant to be completed without cheating, hence tooled-up emulators (or good old amiga trainers)
@cubex55 I understand that, alot of us do, all i'm saying is that it should be stated on your uploads that these are pc emulators and that are either tooled-up or the use of savestates are involved. It gives gullable people out there the false impression that imortals are playing these games which is untrue. Also the other issue with longplays is that you never get to see what the bad guys are capable of doing in the game, it's made to look too easy, it can ruin the game. No hard feelings!
@thecalvinclone I used to play like that when I was a kid... Hours and hours of practice CAN turn you into an Arkanoid God :) So, maybre IT IS tool-assisted, but it can also be totally legit... Anyway, great game !
You know you're a nerd, when you can sit at watch a 49 minute Arkanoid longplay with the same intensity as a sport interested, watching a tennis or golf tournament. :x
Also... I guess I've always given up or Game Over'd at Round 32... I remember the brick layout of that stage.. but never, EVER did I see that Round 33 dude. That's such a hard blow to the childhood right there, knowing I came so, so close! LOL.
I don't like the sound effects... they sound like being captured from a phone line also notice how they are actually cut-off samples with no depth no ending... why don't they make a real-time generated sound on Amiga?
@maiki60fps Amiga was over 20 years ago, when IBM computers couldn't even make a sound. Amigas had a desktop when others had black screens with a cursor. That machine was way ahead of its time, full of potential. What happened...? Bill Gates did.
@maiki60fps You should find the original coin-op machine and listen to it. The amiga version had, in my opinion, the most true-to-coin-op sound of any of the PC/console Arkanoid releases, including later machines which technically had better sound hardware. The sounds you hear were either taken directly from the coin-op, or generated real-time in the exact same way, I can faithfully say with absolute authority.
wow, this takes me BACK! I finished this game as an 11 year old on the family amiga in 1987. I can't believe I just watched all 49 minutes straight through....but hey like I said this takes me back!! I wonder what other old faves I can find on here....
wait a sec. if i remember right, the amiga version of arkanoid had 2 different "games" or "paths" you should record the other ones, as all the levels are different exept the last boss. at the begining if you pressed:
this game looks like it's fun to play, even after such a long time. i can only remember this playing in blimpie while eating a tuna sandwich in 1988. it was right next to ghosts n goblins, breakthru (remember that with a jeep??), and black tiger arcade machines.
Thanks very much for this video. I remember playing this game on my Amiga 500 for so many nights, always trying to improve my own highscore. I really was addicted to it, 17 years ago.
Great port of a great game. I still like the Nes version more for nostalgic reasons, but this amiga port is damned amazing.

I've only beaten the game once in my whole life. So damn tough. I just play for fun now, but I can say I beat it from the beginning one time.

Thats is the whole point of longplays - people can see the WHOLE game!
Alot of games are impossible for normal people to ever beat - we allow those people to see those games anyway!

It is stated clearly in our channel FAQ that most vids are tool-assisted :)
If people are too lazy to read it, its not our fault :)

geminiodisea721483 3 years ago
If you don't want to give emulation a try, there may some modern equivalents (aka remakes) available.
Arkanoid has the Ricochet series and Reaxxion,
Boulder Dash has Rocks 'N' Diamonds
and, there are plenty of Dungeon Master and Sokoban clones if you know where to look.
In the end, it depends on the type of game you're searching for.
I could PM you a list of freeware sites if you'd like. ^_^
