Carrier COVERED this song. She did not write it. She didn't not create it. If you think the COVER version by Carrie Underwood is better, that is your prerogative, but it was GUNS N' ROSES who created this song. NOT Carrie Underwood. @wildcatter63 Actually it was both Axl and Izzy who wrote the song. Izzy wrote the guitars and Axl wrote the lyrics. Duff explained that Axl came up with the lyrics while Izzy wrote the guitar track. The song may have been influenced by his "then" girlfriend and Rose's "then" wife, Erin Everly. Carrie Underwood isn't their daughter, and she explained that she grew up listening to Guns N Roses hence why she did the cover.
