My friends and I always make jokes about how tired we look at school (especially when there is a presentation that day and we all know that everybody did it last minute and got to bed late), eyebags and all.
So with friends it is a topic you could actually make fun of.
I think that being honest and sharing with someone can actually help you too... and I actually like to know why people are tired if its a good story :)
@VaguelyEurasian If asking people how they were doing wasn't an expected part of every day conversation, I wouldn't ask a lot of people, because I know most of them will just tell me they are tired. Apparently most people I run into are chronically tired! Agree to disagree :)
Expectations lead to dissapointment. If you are totally against the expectations you wouldn't do it. It was expected of me to date a girl, but I won't. (ok im taking this too far).
Couldn't you instead say: "Wow you look great today!" haha or something to give them a positive push.
Advice them to get a massage...

I wasn't mad I agree with u pretty much %100 percent but when this bitch is tired I'm cranky so I don't even try to be around people when I'm tired because they shouldn't have to put up with me so I never have to say I'm tired. How ever if I get asked that I'm not going to lie about it iv spent the last 25 years pretending to be something I'm not don't want a honest answere then don't ask me questions now that's my point of view. @whambamram Don't you feel like there are people that tell you they're tired, but in actuality, they're not exhausted... maybe not even that tired! Its just what people say to you so they can complain about something? Thats how I often feel. If a friend is legit tired, then yes of course, I would enjoy helping them. :)

Right after the "tired" excuse, u can expect to hear a whole lot of boredom and sometimes frustration, but i put up with that from people i care about, because sometimes well they need to vent. I wont take that from strangers though, im not a walking hotline, a social worker or Dr. Phil, there's services specially for that.
If someone asks me how I am and I'm legitimately tired, I'll say I'm tired, but then add on something like "but I'm on my way to get some caffeine right now" or something to make it something humorous.
