  • It's a Squat Clean..... Not a power clean because hen you catch the bar your hip crease is belo your knees.... But still Freaking AMAZING... people can say bad form all they want, but it's working for him

  • Terrible form despite the impressive weight.

Why can't highschool kids learn how to clean properly. And this is a squat clean not a power clean

  • not going to lie, i am impressed, but he has weak VWO's to the max, thats why his knees shoot in so much. get those VWO'S strong and you can do alot more than that weight and prevent more injury

  • fuck that kid is gonna jack up his back big time

  • Yeah, bad form.

  • @MrPrinced25 you are aware that a deadlift is the first part of a power clean?

  • Is this bad for your knees? Seems like if you mess up you could blow out your knee

  • holy fuck haha people dont realize once you get to heavier weight the front squat aspect of a clean becomes much more involved than before

  • whats this? i didnt see any technique! no first pull, transition or 2nd pull. he just pulls the bar and curls it. no shrug or triple extension. pure shit!

  • how the fuck is that a power clean, he obviously goes past parallel!

  • Comment removed

  • In weightlifting compeitition, I think both of those would not have counted; it looks like the arms touched the thighs. I would also add that if he messes up a lift with form like that, he may injure himself, especially on the wrists.

  • fuck power cleans. do jumps to a box, jumps with light barbell on back or light dumbells in hands, or do sprints. cleans are under so much scrutiny on tehcnique if you are not a olympic weightlifter, they rip up your wrists, so why bother?

  • @hybridman actually don't fuck power cleans. You know Richardson, the running back for Alabama, he power cleaned 400 as a freshmen without breaking a sweat. See where it got him, so don't fuck power cleans. And, to this kid, good pull, but your form is shit

  • fuck everyone... good fuckin lift, all these ppl givin you shit suck

  • no lift cuz his elbows touched his knees and thats no a power clean

  • fuck that. this shit is SCARY. i tried it with 135 and threw out my back x(

  • @HILARIOUSKID33 lol bitch

  • @millachipmunk keep in mind i've never done it before and had no clue what i was doing

  • HEAVY

  • My power clean and bench are about the same.. ~130lbs

  • Not a powerclean, its just a clean and not a very clean clean

  • Youtube is just so full of ignorants who dont even care to look up the difference between powerclean and clean. Its not freakin rocket science you minimally educated fxxxers..

  • Its not a powerclean

Its more like a clean with very lousy form

  • @zoonghwa If he had a coach that taught him good form the kid would be amazing.

  • @zoonghwa can u do it, i dead lift 325, no way in hell i can power clean that shit

  • This isnt a power clean.

  • Is he in Highschool? If he is he got beat by our center, power cleaned effin 375 lb

Mines only 255 as a sophomore awww......

  • @ToxicxShots Quit bragging lol. You play basketball you can't even hit 200.

  • @ToxicxShots take your small penis competition somewhere else buddy, its a decent weight lifted at least he isn't becoming another american stereotype... arrogant and fat

  • Wow, If I dropped the weights like that, 90% of the time I would get a broken foot.

  • is that caleb ward?

  • How old is that guy?

  • Fuckn beast form

  • dont touch your feet to weight

  • If I power cleaned like that I wouldn't have knees = /

  • power clean = bar caught with thighs higher than parallel to ground.

full clean = bar caught with thighs lower than parallel to ground.

    this was a full clean.

  • Mississippi

  • lol power clean 315 and only dead lift 285? FUCKING FAIL! You could easily dead lift 315 if you could through it up to your shoulders

  • @34steelers36 if hes dead lifting like we do, ''over under'' then he maybe correct it is harder to do it that way.

  • @stingray8881 some people do find it a lot easier to deadlift sumo. although i prefer the standard overhand myself. he is not correct though, most who power clean 315 would likely deadlift around 450-500+, regardless of their grip preference. my power clean is terrible at a 205 pr; i have terrible form and rarely perform them but to perfect the lift wouldn't add all that much to it, and my record deadlift is 435. he's lying, or mistaken; total fail.

  • @and1uprise i can deadlift 605 that i know of and so far the most ive cleaned period was 275. and pressed it, but the clean is as much technique as it is strength. its about explosive movements. get it up high fast, and get under it fast. i fail at getting down fast.

  • @spidanez I can relate, I always catch the bar high. I haven't worked on clean technique before so the few that I've done I've stayed with low weights so I don't destroy my joints. My explosive strength isn't that bad, I've always done my reps as fast as I could perform with proper technique. But the ability to execute a super explosive, super technical movement like the clean is another story. :D My assessment for deadlift #'s for a 315 clean are very low, but to give someone the benefit of the

  • @spidanez doubt I went to the very low end of the spectrum, assuming perfect technique. Those are some nice lifts you've got, I'm hoping to catch up soon. =P Test. cancer set me back this year but I'm gaining back what I lost fairly quickly and my hormones seem to be stabalizing. (P.S. , that was supposed to be "deadlift numbers" in the last post. Dunno what happened there.)

  • @and1uprise sorry to hear about the cancer! just keep it up. i find that sometimes you have to just break that barrier when getting new PR's. when i plan on getting a new deadlift record, i do rack pulls with my estimated new record. not putting way too much weight on the bar and pulling the bar from my mid thigh to lock out. that dont do shit. i start at below the knee and pull the wbar as fast or hard as possible. with each successful week i lower the pins a slot. always followed with rep work

  • Haha. I bench press 250; power clean 315; nd dead lift 285 nd I'm just 183 pound. Best safety in the state

  • @MrPrinced25 which state

  • @MrPrinced25 You deadlift LESS than you power clean?? I'm sorry but that just doesn't make any sense, that's like backwards.

  • @homiedawgpoonz Also physically impossible to deadlift less than you can power clean. There are of course differences in the lifts, but the deadlift is more or less a subset of the power clean's motion. It'd be kind of like saying you can do a muscle-up but can't get a pull-up.

  • @MrPrinced25 183 and thats all ur fat ass does? i bench 250 and dead 315 at 150.

  • @MrPrinced25 you cant clean more then deadlift? plus a 285 deadlift is worthless for someone who weights 183 lbs along with a 250 lb bench isnt impressive. but your clean is a complete lie.

  • Good job dude. The most ive ever done is 310. Check out my videos too, just search "theskiidog"

Oh, i forgot to mention I only weigh 150 pounds...

  • Can someone check my channel 89306Greka did 205 making sure I did it right thanks

  • I don't see how that doesn't break your wrists.

  • well...... i deadlift that

  • It's a full clean. Power clean has an explosive launch upward with a hop involved.

  • bad form and not 100% focused

  • Who cares what kind of clean it is, he just took 335 pounds from the floor to his shoulders, and its got to be at least 80 pounds more than his weight.

  • full clean, no lift on both, elbow touching the knee's and no hip brush, correct that and wack another 20 pounds on the bar and you'll get it.

  • Lots of whiners on here that don't like to bend their knees to lift weights. Those same people never played american football.

  • @strange80nv HEY ladies ya better watch OUT FOR THAT GUY!!!

  • Very impressive, but not a power clean. This is a full clean or a squat clean.

  • This looks like the the football lift-a-thons i had back in high school, any form went and on the bench press you were spotted tremendously hah. Unfortunately his form is terrible, but the hs football coaches should be blamed for that, not the kid.

  • I like how he just throws the weight and steps on it as if he just bench pressed the earth when in fact that was the shittiest power clean form ever.

  • look, the star wars kid himself!

  • UGLLLLYYY ASSSS SHITTTT UR A FAT NERD CHILD

  • just think what he could do with good form in competitions, he could go far.

  • ALL THIS KID DID WAS MANIPULATED HIS WAY AROUND THE BAR AND GOT UNDER IT. VERY STRANGE POWER CLEAN GOING ON THAT THIS "SPECIAL" FUNCTION.

  • @zachbradley99 the "push it above your head" part is called the jerk. The lift is called the Clean and Jerk. Ever heard of it?

  • okay yeah he broke form but still heavy as fuck.

  • Hihi, so not a power clean :D

  • These comments are so fucking stupid. The argument is whether or not it's technically a power clean or a full clean. Since he clearly does an ass to grass front squat to catch the weight, it's a fucking full clean. He's still very fucking strong, though. Are we done here? fucking tards.

  • @Feedmeakitten

I would like to add, that a full clean does not mean a jerk or press at the end. the clean strictly means you get the weight on your shoulders, whether it be a power clean, above parallel catch, or full clean, below parallel catch.

  • @Feedmeakitten A full clean is when you clean it but front squat it.

  • I found the perfect power clean vid, search "pyrros dimas power clean".

  • @asss2grass Excellent example.

  • is this att hoover high school?

  • i love how everyone is a critic...man god forbid you break form while you're doing heavy weight...

  • one more time you put your fucking leg on the barbell and ill break your head

and its fucking full clean !

  • Full clean that was

  • Good clean. Check me out powercleaning 310 lbs and weighing only 151. I'm the strongest kid in Northern Nevada. My body weight to weight lifted ratio is 6.5. Powerclean 310, bench 250, and squat 445.

  • by power clean do you mean full clean???

  • Comment removed

  • squat clean

  • You catch a power clean above parallel. This was caught below parallel. Impressive feat, but that's the end of the discussion.

  • @holyinstantrice

Look up Pyrros Dimas' World Record power clean. He went below parallel, but the *Olympic* judges approved of it.

  • Comment removed

  • @BustersTexas

lol that's right, remove your asinine comment.

  • @l3lip You demonstrate a critical misunderstanding of the sport of weightlifting. There is no international governing body that judges the power clean as a competitive event. You refer to the event known as the clean & jerk.

    You fucking idiot.

  • @holyinstantrice

Moreover, I was quite aware it was a power clean AND jerk, respectively. If you look at the degree of his legs carefully, you will see that he is *below* parallel when he catches the clean -- thereby disproving what you consider to be a power clean.

Again, when you respond, try to exclude profanity if you don't want to sound like you're throwing a temper tantrum. Thanks.

  • @l3lip Here is what I am saying. When you catch a clean above parallel, the movement earns the prefix of "POWER." Hence POWER CLEAN. The clean depicted in THIS video is not caught above parallel; in fact, it was caught quite below. Therefore, it is NOT a power clean, it is merely a CLEAN.

Pyrros Dimas catches his clean BELOW parallel, therefore it is a CLEAN, and not a POWER CLEAN as you seem to be tragically incapable of understanding.

  • @holyinstantrice

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I wasn't aware that there was such a stark difference between a power clean and a clean - I merely thought you were insinuating that this wasn't a clean *at all*, but I guess that presumption, perpetuated by all the jealous clowns on this page, was incorrect indeed.

And again, what's with the profanity? It saddens me that such knowledge has to be mired by such immaturity and impulsion.

  • @holyinstantrice Seriously though, who gives a fuck about semantics?

  • @Cmac1000rr It's not semantics; there is a large difference between a power clean and a clean, in much the same way that one differentiates between PBR and good beer. Try to not use a word that signifies a concept you do not understand.

  • @l3lip And when you respond, try not to seem like a fucking idiot.

  • Holy shit at all the haters on this page. If you can do it so much better than this guy, then put a video response of you power cleaning this much weight with better form. 'til then, shut the fuck up 'cause you can't do any better.

  • @codfanboy1020

no, So if a receiver would make a diving catch but be out of bound we can just give him the catch cause he dove for it

  • I've done this before, one handed

  • Still not a power clean. Strong lift though.

  • this is probly the cleanest form of heavy weight power cleaning ive seen on youtube.

  • @chres115

    you being sarcastic?

  • LEGIT!

  • strong kid, ugly lift

  • lol nice form brah

  • This kid is def strong, props man. But what I see wrong with your form is your back is rounded and your butt is too high, other than that nice job. Also I'll be honest if it would have been a real meet both lifts wouldn't have counted, your elbows touched your knees, work on that and your good to go

  • elbows off ur knees faggit

  • Try it without the wraps--the olympic standard

  • Great Form, and Great lift

  • Not a power clean.

  • @eyesallhazy1001 yep, just a full clean

  • @eyesallhazy1001

Oh, then show us a video of you "power cleaning" 335 pounds.

  • @l3lip

Also, by putting power clean in quotations, you're also implying this is not a power clean.

  • @eyesallhazy1001

Nope, I was quoting you in order to make it seem that *this* is the best example of a power clean we have, since *somebody* won't upload his / her video of a proper power clean.

  • @l3lip Well, if you think this is "the best example of a power clean we have" then you must be a professional o-lifter, in which case I have nothing else I wish to say.

  • @eyesallhazy1001

    *Sigh*

You don't get it, do you? If you can perform the lift so much better (since you condescend and state that this lift wasn't performed correctly) then why don't you upload one of *you* performing the lift for us?

Why is an expert so afraid of demonstrating to us his expertise?

  • @eyesallhazy1001

It's not the *best* power clean I've ever seen, but I didn't expect the optimal form when one is lifting his max. Again, let us see *you* power cleaning your max since your form is so much more adept at your max, right?

Stop shit talking through Youtube if you can't back it up with film - the substance of which this website was designed for.

  • @l3lip

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

The more you talk, the worse it gets. This obviously is not a power clean. I stated a fact. It's evident that you cannot differentiate between a clean and a power clean. Why don't you try asking your coach? I will throw you a bone and point you to the right direction. YouTube search "Rippletoe Power Clean."

I have no need to justify myself to you.

  • @eyesallhazy1001

Yes, because my coach (and other coaches from around the district) approved my power clean of 240 pounds when I cleaned it with a form similar to his.

I've seen that video - so what? I'm sure if this lifter were to clean ~240 lbs., he wouldn't have to dip so low and would be able to clean with that form. Again since it's his *max*, the weight simply forces him to drop down.

"I have no need to justify myself to you."

    - It isn't that - it's that you can't.

  • @eyesallhazy1001

If you know how to properly power clean your max, then why not *show* us instead of *telling* us? It's Youtube man, the website was made for this exact purpose. If you wanted to make an excuse how about how shitty this power clean is, then you demonstrate to us how to clean max weight better.

'til then, you're just another jealous and disillusioned hater.

  • @eyesallhazy1001 how is that not a power clean? you are fucking retarded dude.

  • @hellopeaplz a power clean you don't squat down... this is a full clean

  • @eyesallhazy1001 Sir, that IS powercleaning. I had to watch some retarted 45 minute long video about it in my weight training class, and he fulfilled all the requirements: the deadlift phase, the jump phase, and the rack phase.

  • @CheapShotFail

No. A power clean is where you clean the weight but your legs don't go below parallel. That was a full clean

  • @TheMightyClaybear Oh yeah, missed that, but I thought it is called a squat clean.

  • @eyesallhazy1001 It's a power clean. but like look how heavy that is... c'mon now they're just high schoolers

  • @eyesallhazy1001 100% power clean

  • @eyesallhazy1001

lol that was def a power clean. Just not a clean and jerk.

  • @Dreadnaught89 no it wasnt. 'lol'

  • @sr19 Then please, inform me on what it was.

  • @Dreadnaught89 already said in my other comment. it was a full clean, which is usually simply referred to as a clean. it was definately not a power clean. so you can drop the smugness. anyone who does even a little bit of internet research knows what a power clean is. why would a full clean and a power clean be the same thing?

  • im pretty sure hes using his back, and not getting triple extension...i could be wrong...

  • terrible form -_-

  • 335 is weak for his weight class.

  • my back would snap

  • beast lift, horrible form. Wish i had his strength..

  • holy shitters this guy can lift

  • @Lolitasupreme shut the fuck up.

  • Awful form.

Where is the explosive hip power?

  • @73truthseeker Oh please, I open the door wide expecting some entertaining repartee and you bolt to the high ground? Christ, can ya why we hate Yankees so much? If that's the best ya got, well, I still gotta clean my grill. I was jes' hoping for a reason to put it off.

  • @73truthseeker Well, if you'd stop preening in the mirror and look around, you might see one. Also, getcho lazy no-good ass off that Nautilus bench press machine & stop talking to girls- it don't do no good anyway. They all heard them steroids made yo' nuts shrink up. Go outside. Get a job. Do some work. And move out of yo' mama's house. Hell, that's why I left her in the first place. Can't explain you boy... unless she dildo'd a rubber chicken while I was away. Sheeee-it!

  • @73truthseeker- Not all. But occasionally one does stop by.

  • @superjeff299 - Not terrible for a clean. But it's not a POWER clean. Grips slightly too close. Strength and speed excellent. Feet hardly move (right foot slightly out & back) causing him to rack the weight in FRONT of the clavicles (both should go slightly out/forward). Not sure what ajwazhere means by weightless, but the bar should never more than lightly graze the thighs. Last, don't think hip or thigh- the greatest determinant is the butt. Seems the winner always has the biggest ass.

  • @TheDrrbc Weightlessness - The short interval of time where the bar's upward and downward acceleration reach zero; at this moment the effects of gravity are shortly reduced to a pull of 0G's. Opportune moment to pull yourself under the bar as fast as possible.

  • @ajwazhere- Gotcha, zero vertical velocity. One thing though... I don't think I've ever seen anyone successfully clean or snatch if they hadn't started to get under that bar well before the point of zero velocity!

But I'm still a little unsure what you mean with "when your hips... under it easier".

Shouldn't be a difference in technique b/w the clean/p.clean except the p.clean the pull is longer, higher, and faster to develop the speed component of power. Much like sprints down a 3º grade.

  • @TheDrrbc Well, the point of zero velocity is weightlessness in it's simplest form. After the explosion there is a velocity, but it's in the upward direction, so it serves the same purpose as weightlessness. Conclusively, as long as the bar is either moving away from the ground/not moving towards it (0G, or negative G-forces), the "weightlessness" aspect we require to complete the lift is achieved.

  • @TheDrrbc Also, I was just stating that with a swift explosion from the hips the velocity of the bar is rapidly increased in the upward direction. I understand that the pull is longer and faster, but there is so much more this guy can achieve if he were to get a true explosion (Via countless Olympic lifting videos). He is strong none the less.

  • @ajwazhere He's a bull, no doubt. Don't like the "E" word. In a 4-cycle engine, an "explosion" of the air-fuel mix (called a "knock or "ping") is associated with a loss of power, and a smooth burn associated with efficiency. You were right tho, it's rare the biggest lifts aren't done with perfect form. But damn near every injury has shitty form. And if I had an athlete injure himself screwing around showing off 1RM's on a lift (full clean) he wasn't trained for.... Well, C ya'. Have a good life.

  • @TheDrrbc I believe that's why trainer has us do snatches instead of cleans, and in their hang forms. Take out of the element of the drive from the floor, and it's a fairly simple lift. that hip thrust is a little difficult to learn.

  • @ajwazhere No, he's doing it because it's the hardest to become proficient at. And because his coach did it to him. Well, and because he doesn't want any big weight slung around the gym until you've done your 2000th snatch or power snatch, which is what he considers to be the least amount of proof to show that a student isn't a complete waste of his time and the oxygen they consume. Best hope is by the 2nd year he learns your real name and stops calling you "Dumbass". Welcome to the club.

  • @TheDrrbc I don't know where you trained, but this is completely irrelevant in my case. All of my coaches are genuinely nice people, and the snatch came very easy to me.

  • @superjeff299 Power clean is above parallell. Maybe that is what their talking about.

  • Mirin'

  • ITV: Morons who could never power clean 325 talk shit about someone power cleaning 325

  • Where do all of these wannabe experts come from?? For goodness sakes people, SHUT UP. If you're such experts here, PUT A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. Yet, you all never do.

  • this is pretty good im a sophmore in high school and i can get 315

  • @BestInDaBidness my ass

  • @ajwazhere actually my friend, your retarded hes clearly exploding with the weight...thats the only way he gets under it, it still goes through a weightlessness period, you're just being overly critical because nobody can see you and your little pencil-neck but i think you should just go back to playing guitar hero and not being overly critical on workout videos in which u clearly know nothing about (yes i looked at your profile pussy)

  • @slimbw93 Cool bro. You can look at two year old videos. I'm a D1 athlete, I know what I'm talking about.

  • @ajwazhere big deal...im a personal trainer going to school to be an athletic trainer so i will be training pussies like you, track and field isnt even sport anyways, its only a part of a sport and you obviously dont know much about lifting weights your still a skinny pussy so shut the fuck up

  • @slimbw93 Lol... without track and field there can be no other sports. Track and Field was the first sport known to man, it invented competitive throwing, competitive running, and competitive jumping; the foundation of which all other sports are based off.

  • @ajwazhere good point...im tired of arguing with ppl on youtube so think what u want idc

  • @slimbw93 Good to hear. You were kind of just rambling on talking shit about Track and Field and calling a kid over 200lbs (6'0) a skinny bitch. Think what you want I suppose.

  • @slimbw93 there is no hip drop in a power clean. This is a full olympic-style squat clean.

  • @slimbw93 my bad i replied to the wrong comment.

  • im pretty sure a power clean does not count if your legs go past 90 degrees.. unless its a clean and jerk...?

  • Question: if he square wouldn't it be a squat clean?

  • This is correct form. Learn the lift if you think its not.

  • @superjeff299 your right I cant clean 2 plates. You know why? Because I'm using CORRECT FORM and want to make sure I always will before I increase weight. Go watch some of Kendrick Farris's power cleans he is a machine and demonstrates almost perfect form

  • aside from knee positoning i cant see how this is bad form

  • @superjeff299 you must not have much experience with the power clean...... it looks like he has a turtle back for 1 and that is an awful way to start the pull. 2nd he doesn't look like he is exploding into the movement at all and his feet are not popping up at all. He needs to keep his elbows up higher and be a little more explosive.

  • bad form, half the people commenting don't even know what a power clean is smh. Credits to the weight though I mean I'm not there yet but to the people saying good form it just boggles my mind what you understand to be good form

  • Thats a full clean not a power clean. Its a full clean when you drop to an full squat position. Its a power clean when you only go into an quarter or half squat.
