I guess now that I think about it I only appreciate Guinan as being a magic plot twister. Like when they found that old ship in a time portal instantly changing history and she someone how "has a gut feeling" that something is wrong... yet describes a lot more details. They would've been screwed otherwise. She always has her two cents that flip the story around for everyone hahahah. Wasn't that Troi's job?

@TekLok Apparently since Guinan is over 700 years old and can see through time they figured she be best suited serving drinks and socializing with the ships crew and passengers... yet ends up being the most important character in some of the plots. Like what the fuck? I can see how its annoying, its the wild card character.

Sisko and Janeway played their roles too rigid and cerebral. One stiff was enough - Picard. Kirk was more fun and loose in his role. Even the new Kirk is a lot more fun to watch.

@si2foo Spock and Riker are technically Star Trek captains as well. Both have served as Captain of the Enterprise. Riker's was a field promotion, but then he was promoted to captain of the USS Melbourne, which has been the subject of several novels. Not "canon" but still Star Trek. After TMP, Spock was officially promoted to captain and served until Khan stole the Reliant. In fact, Kirk was only on the ship to oversee the shakedown cruise. Spock was (officially) in command.
