  • I want kids now :) I <3 Yhu Guys!

  • gross!!! pity the kids...no mom..

  • Hey guys you are so great, look up you two. Blessing you all with the kids with happiness and joy all in your life. Merry X'mas and Happy new year......

  • I wanna see the picture of your kids, the one on the paperwork that made you choose them

  • I have been a member to your site for over a year. Your honest comments about your children made me cry. I feel terribly about my comment a year ago about not promoting your family. I congratulate you for taking on these children. I am adopted. I have an identical twin brother. I am gay with a loving partner with three adult female daughters. God love you two and your beautiful children!

  • I just started watching these because I am a gay man and first never thought I would want kids of my own because I have my own nieces to spoil, but still what have I have with them I want again someday. My nieces I view as my kids when my mom and I watch them. They are all over me if I am around and its ME watching them, not my mom because I'm just the one they gravitate to.

After seeing your videos though I know I want the sames things Jay, Bryan, Selena, and Daniel have together.

  • again...you GUYS ARE SAINTS!!!!! My hat is off to you both.

  • @TheHannahkhan Leave the "poor" kids out of a loving, nurturing, supportive environment where a brother and sister get to stay together, and grow up feeling loved and secure? Where they learn about tolerance, love, understanding, acceptance, respect and open mindedness? Why? So they can grow up with parents like yourself and be taught hate, intolerance, prejudice, fear and cruelty towards others because they are different than them? No thanks, that would be the worst thing for ANY child!!!

  • I wanna see the picture!!!!

  • Guys....I am so glad that you both got Daniel and that you relayed your story. I'm a big softy myself and I almost cried too. Thanks for sharing your experience! I always thought I'd adopt whether I was gay or not becuse kids need parents! Thank you for sharing this story!

  • It's so sad, the biological mother never has the rights to keep any of her kids. CPS has just decided to always take away her kid no matter what.

IF the biological mother is so bad, shouldn't she be in prison?

Oh, and exactly how hard did they look for the father?

  • @Wishingstarification Ok, first the mother has been in and out of prison....She has a total of seven kids 4 with major medical problems including my son who was born with GoldenHar Syndrom. She refuses to stop using drugs while pregnant causing major problems with the unborn children. The last two births the court has confined her to a medical ward untill the children are born so that they can at least have a chance at a normal start in life. as for the fathers my duaghter has noknown father.

  • @depfox He was a john and the only thing the mother knows is that he is a philipino business man....As for my sons father he is a migrant worker from Mexico and gave up custody rights of his son because he understood that he was not able to take care of Danile with all his medical problems......So straight people gave my kids a bad start in life....Then my son sat in Social services for three years with no Straight family wanting him.

  • @depfox I am blessed that my son has come into my life he has made life so much more fun, interesting and fullfilling. I am sorry that you dont see that my kids are loved and happy but that doesnt change the facts. Stop lying to yourself if you really care about kids get involved in Social Services and help the kids that are stuck there.

  • @depfox Woah, first off, I didn't say your kids aren't loved and that you aren't good parents. It's obvious from your videos that your kids are in a good environment. However, you also talked about your son be stuck in a bad foster family, where the mom didn't want the son. How horrible is that! Just because those kids got lucky with you guys doesn't mean that's the norm. If the biological mother is a drug addict and a prostitute, then she desperately needs help, not prison!

  • @Wishingstarification Sorry about jumping down your throat.....We get a lot of people who attack our videos about kids being taken away from families and given to others....It is never easy when bio mothers and fathers loose their children. When it does happen its because the parents refuse to step up and do wahts bests for the kids and their lives. My niece recently lost her three kids to CPS and me and Bryan took them as foster kids for 9 months.

  • @depfox The court doesnt care that my niece is a good or loving mother they just want her to be a functionl parent...Will my niece ever be a great mother NO she wont....That being said her kids love her and want to be with her and that is what is most important. My kids mother could care less about her children and he actions have always shown that. Just because you can get pregnant doesnt make you a mother or a person who will love and care for a child.

  • @depfox I agree that women that give birth aren't automatically loving people. However, seeing so much on the internet of children being taken away from loving parents has negatively effected me. In your case, the kids obviously needed to be taken away from the biological mother.

What gets me is that there so many cases where taking the kids away have been unjustified. Again, maybe I'm wrong, I'm open minded enough to change my mind. What did you think of the video?

    watch?v=TmaZb60tFMs

  • @Wishingstarification The video is really sad....We live in a world where humans make mistakes and dont always make the right choices....That being said I am a police officer in SF and all to often I get to see young children hurt and abused by people who should never ever be parents...Time and time again I see CPS give these kids back to the people who hurt and abuse them. The system isnt perfect. I know you care please help the system if you have the ability.

  • @depfox Please watcn this video for the other side of the story.......I agree that when it comes to taking kids away from parents there should be a lot of oversite. watch?v=zWr1nFS30WA

  • @depfox I did watch it.

The issue really is between is there systematic problems that get a majority of kids out of homes wrongly and is CPS not doing enough to protect kids.

There are now several books and videos that show that CPS is systematically taking kids away wrongly, even from adoptive parents! There are studies out now that children are more likely to be abused in CPS then with their parents. There are other studies that show CPS makes a bad situation worse. There was a PBS ...

  • @depfox documentary showing how a girl was taken away from a mother and killed in CPS custody.

    watch?v=HmMGbRt1A5A&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL <-- state abuse

  • @depfox I've seen a lot about legal kidnapping. See this: watch?v=TmaZb60tFMs

There are a lot of video like that. Adoption is fine, if voluntary. Forcefully taking children away from their homes isn't ok. It's should only be done when absolutely necessary. Please watch the video before responding.

Again, your kids are obviously in a good home, this isn't about you, it's about CPS.

  • bryan is hot! if u decide to go straight, contact me! LOL eeeeeeeeee

  • best video on youtube.

  • First off the kids are adorable :)

Secondly I have two mom's, and its pretty cool, although sometimes I wonder what its like with a dad..

Do people ever glare at you in public, I know we get it a lot ..

  • lol this is so messed up. More like a foster family with sodemy pleasures, than a true family.

  • this video made me cry! you guys are so inspirational and i am so happy that there are so many wonderful adoptive parents like you out there!

  • Oh my gosh I bawled watching this! Your story is amazing and what happened with Daniel is what got the waterworks going.

  • I just wanted to say that this video really touched me. When you guys starting talking about the gigantic binders with all of the children's profiles, I cried. I was orphaned at the age of 14, having younger siblings ages 11 and 9. I know from experience how hard it is to find a good family to become a part of when you are past a certain age and have siblings. You two have done something wonderful for these kids, and they are going to be so appreciative when they are older.

  • Such an inspiration to all gays out there. Keep them coming.

  • I love you guys you make me proud

  • Homosexuals are cool!

  • This was so interesting. The private route is so different. We don't look at profiles but birth mothers review our glossy birth letter, so they have the control it seems. We are willing to wait awhile (1 + yr) to get matched, but hearing your foster experience just made my heart melt. Not sure I could handle what u went through not being able to bring Daniel home.

  • lol u 2 look drunk. so so sooo cute video omg. u always make my day.

  • Ugandan gays? This is painful on the out-flow.

  • Wow, this is a fantastic story. I was crying myself when you guys were talking about Bryan and Daniel crying every time you guys had to leave him at the new foster home.

  • Thank you for sharing your story with us guys! :-D!!!

    Happy holidays!. Felices fiestas!

  • This video never made it to my sub box! Darn gootube!

I had tears streaming when you talked about having to leave Daniel behind. But, all's well now and that's what matters.

You two men are my heroes!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your adoption story! I pray that it will inspire many people to consider adoption! Merry Christmas Leffew Family! :) *Hugs* (The kiss in the end was sooo cute!) :)

  • I dont feel weird or young or insane for wanting my family, it feels more realistic and that is a great feeling!

Thank you for the christmas invite!

    Love,

    Dakota

  • i know im young, but i cry in the night for children. true i probably have a stronger connection having been adopted myself and having my family recently disown me, i feel the need to "nest" and create my own family with chris. anyways, this severity of crying and goggles has been going on for about five months, although it's been a year since children have been my main focus... and your videos make me feel... validated.

  • as i've been messageing you with, ive watched these videos countless times....

i have to say that i am in a desperate frenzy recently. everything i think about, is children. it relates back to children. i dont see a shopping cart as a shopping cart, i see a kid, my kid, in the shopping cart. i dont see lasgna, i see a mess all over my kids clothes, it's like seeing everything through parent goggles.

  • That was a wonderful story! Thanks for sharing it.

  • You two are such heros! I cried the whole way this video.

  • You gentlemen are amazing. May you always be blessed, as you have been with Daniel and Selena. You inspire.

  • let Bryan talk more :)

  • ;O( ok

  • @depfox

I think you talk the perfect amount -_- although sometimes you do get very passionate and cut short bryan in the middle of the sentence...

now i'll go share the video on fb...it really is disney material.

  • @botaborsi he's just passionate about his family :)

  • These are awesome! I remeber bits and pieces of the adoption process you went through but getting to here the story all together is wonderful. See you at Christmas, Andrea

  • You are coming to the Chirstmas party on Saturday I hope ;O)

  • Yes! Sorry I didn't call you back. We are looking forward to it.

I also like your side stories, I think you should post the unedited version.

  • Wow, what a wonderful story. I stumbled upon your videos while doing a project for school, and I'm amazed at how fantastic your family seems to be. It's really a wonderful example for those who might (wrongly) think less of you.

Do you think you'll ever adopt any more children?

  • Hey guys, love your new video.

  • what more love for a kid o you really need?!

  • its great!

    what you are doing!

setting examples, showing people how possible it really is!

    thank you.

  • wow the kids where so small those days :) i love this vid :)

    xxxx

  • :-)

    Thanks guys.

    *

Me and my boyfriend we have the same red coffee mugs:-)

  • ;O) got to love starbucks

  • All I have to say is that you guys are hero's to the community and the human race. Thank you for just being you. Very inspirational and beautiful.

  • You guys teach us a lesson of love, hope and courage.

You mean all I've ever wanted = a loving husband and some wonderful kids. A kind of perfect life.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • All three parts are fantastic videos to watch. Every second of the videos are really inspiring.

  • Some freak way i stumble on this vid but i gotta say honestly as a straight young AA man you guys make me re-think the world. idk what to say honestly! while i dont understand it. i support your human and God given right. Im ashamed that i just stood by and didnt speak up for my fellow human brotheren in school =(

  • It's never too late to speak out to your nowadays friends!

Some day gay people will be seen as completely normal people, and that would be thanks to their coming out and living out to their friends & families & coworkers; but also it would be possible thanks to straight people who wholeheartedly support us and argue on our behalf. It's a great feeling to be a part of that process, to know that you change the minds of old-fashioned people with your example! Be that example! It's never too late!

  • You guys are blessed Leffew family!!!!

    WOOT WOOT!!!!

  • There should be more parent's like you in the world.

  • what a sweet vid... :)

  • ah, thanks you guys for making this video on your adoption experience, it answered loads of my questions about gay couples' adoption problems. I'm a gay parent as well though my story is different from yours. I'm single and I had my 2 kids with a lesbian friend. I watched the 3rd part tonight with my son (who is 11) he was drawn in by the story and watched the vid. until the end, I think 1st time he saw another gay couple who are parents :) Thanks for the positive role models you guys :)

  • Whats your sons name

  • Hey again! sweet of you to reply (you guys get a ton of mail here) and yes I will tell you my kids' names. My son (singular lol) is named Helgi after my brother and my daughter Margret (after her maternal grandmother) she is 3 years old now since August. Kudos on the 4rth vid, I just watched it now. Btw I forwarded the link to the lesbian moms I share my children with, when I told them about you guys the other day they of course wanted to see this as well :-) Big hug from my family, Eysteinn

  • i love you guys!

  • Another question: Are you planning to adopt another son/daughter?

  • We have talked about it. but thats where it remains right now...just talk.

  • You are such an excellent parents! All you've been trough for them!

Please, answer this question in the next part: Do Selena and Daniel has contact with her biological mother? Does she visits them once in a while?

  • I'm not surprised you cried when you had to leave him behind. I was in tears just listening to it. It must have been awful.

It's not surprising that some of the kids act up a bit when you think of the stress of these situations.

  • Jay you are so Cute! "A big Softy!" you are adorable!

  • That was very heart warming I'm so glad that Daniel and Selena were able to stay together. Sometimes I wonder if I have any siblings out there. This video really hits close to home. Thank You so much

  • That was so amazing, the video made me cry too. Your kids are so lucky to have you.

  • One of the best vids i've seen ! i laughed, i cried, i learned, i lived, i kissed bryan - oh was that out loud?!

  • I think we can definitely say that God was looking out for all of you, to work out all of you getting together at the right times!

  • You two make me cry. This story is beautiful, and you are the best parents Daniel and Selena could have. I can't get over how much you two love each other and compliment each other so perfectly, I just adore your whole family.

  • Thanks for sharing again guys! I would say how nice and cute you guys are, but everyone has already done so! Take care.

  • I agree with BearGuyPaul's comment that this story is worthy of Disney. Thank you for presenting parts of what happened with you guys ranging from the emotional turmoil to the educational facts about how the adoption process works. It was wonderful to get an insight into your family's history--the kids and you're on, and it shed light on subject manner that I think most of us are completely unfamiliar about. Great video and fantastic series guys!

  • Great video! Thank you, Jay and Bryan, for sharing your story. Loved the goofy little kiss at the end too! =P

  • I loved to hear your adoption story. How DARE the government not recognize your marriage and deny you federal benefits?

  • m2 :3

  • you guys are awesome!

  • Great Video! You two are so incredible and I am so happy for you!

  • I can't say much more than thanks again. These videos are such a valuable resource.

It is interesting to see how similar the process works in different countries. The bureaucratic processes are different but the people all seem familiar :D

  • I guess I should of waiting and watched the complete video before I started commenting but anyway,,,I just have to say WOW WOW WOW...this was an incredible story and it shows what great strength and perservance you guys have to overcome and stick this out and the emotional toil....you guys are just great dads and wonderful people

  • Great video, I never knew how difficult

the adoption process is, maybe its cause I never thought I'd get there. But its always nice to know this.

  • Just got in from work here ...it is 1:10am as I type this out and i FINALLY got to see this video because I was checking at work but it was still a no go for the iphone...I love the pixs....great job guys....just 7 more days.....HUGS

  • A very engaging and emotive video.

I'm sorry that i keep coming back to this issue, but when i'm watching your adoption videos i can't help but thinking of my friends who are or would be pregnant and comparing your motives to theirs.

  • One friend once told me she wanted to have a child, because pregnancy reduces the chances of a woman's getting ovular cancer, or something. Another, expecting friend, who has never showed any affinity to kids before, has told me she wished to see how she would look in miniature, and that she's doing it basically because she can, and don't want to regret it later.

I love you guys. In a way, i'm almost envious of Daniel and Selena in how it's turned out for them.

  • Jay & Bryan - You both did such an amazing job on this series! I loved every minute. I wish I could express how excited I am :) We can't wait to see you and the kids next weekend! Keep up the incredible work!

  • It was meant to be.. Jay and Bryan are blessed and Daniel and Selena are blessed.

The whole "foster care" system in this country is frightening. I work in a hospital and I have seen some foster parents bring kids in for treatment and the kids are unkept and socially retarded. You just know that these people could care less about the kids..they are just interested in the check that they are receiving from the government..and I am sure they are not spending that money on the kids. Sad..

    G.vid!

  • OK, I am officially starting the ATDV Support Group!

    Addicted To Depfox Videos.

Who wants to join?! ;) We can all help each other through this! haha

  • "Depfoxed Anonymous" group meeting would be held every other Wednesday at depfoxed_anonymous-dot-blogspot-dot-com at 8-ish PST.

  • Haha, sounds good! Although, every other Wed? I think I need it weekly! :P

Oh, to answer your previous question, not only did I write a letter to Obama, I signed a petition to get Iowa's senator, Chuck Grassley, to speak out against Uganda. It seems like it worked...well, somewhat. ;)

  • Well, we'll start fortnightly and we'll see how it goes. You can always call your sponsor any time day & night if there's an emergency that you can't resist your desire to watch one of the videos for the 127th time :)

And Uganda. Yeah, Bryan told us in his blog about some developments. Hopefully, it's not gonna stop halfway there.

  • Another wonderful video!

    =)

  • Absolutely wonderful video!!!!! 5 stars is truly not enough.

Loved the pics at the beginning :D

  • I absolutely adore you all! This video was so precious that I cant find the words to even start to describe how it made me feel. I felt so many emotions at once, all the way from sad to a big smile on my face when you said Daniel finally got to come with you as well. You two are so incredible, caring, and so genuine that it makes me so proud that I found your you tube channel. Thank you so very much for sharing your story with us all.

    Take care and stay safe!

  • you guys are so cute when you disagree.

  • ur so cute!

  • Why am I weeping all the way through this?

Oh, yeah, I know why -- because it -- and you are so beautiful.

  • Great video, as usual!

I've been wondering (and you brought it up in this video) how you maintain the kids' conection to the Latino community, or teach them about their heritage. I don't know if that will also involve teaching Selina about her Filipino heritage as well..

    Love your vids!

  • My question kind of goes along with this person's. My partner and I, are considering adopting in the distant future, how was the decision to have a multi-cultural family? Absolute yes, hesitation on either of your parts? In our case, my partner is Af-Am, I am Caucasian, and we are thinking about wanting a Hispanic or Asian-Amer child. What are your thoughts?

  • Our only hesitation where how the kids would be treated by our families. That turned out fine. ...and if it hadn't he would have had our love no matter what.

When I look at daniel all I see is his big grin, not the color of his skin...so I say go for it

  • aww its so amazing to hear how great parents you are for your two kids =)

  • Hey Jay And Bryan

I just saw your part 3 of your story. I want to say all of you video have inspiration me. But this one deeply brought tear to my eyes and it touch my heart in way I will never for get. You and your family do great work!! Your family and the work you do will always be in my heart.

  • Ditto.

I cried, too, when J&B were talking about Daniel crying and not understanding why they take Selena and leave him behind, and how they visited him every weekend and cried all the way back home. Heartbreaking.

  • Great vid, as usual. Bryan's honesty about his initial wariness towards Daniel is much appreciated. There's so much love and honesty exuding--or perhaps spewing ;-) --from you two. That's why I watch!

  • Very informative and cute :) at the end!

    Love your videos!

  • i know what your talking about with how the kids felt. my parents divorced when i was 8 and i had a custody battle that took 4 years to complete. i still have to deal with things that i didnt really think about at the time.

  • ... Ok i´m will try to get mi video question by the end of the weekend. so wait for me!!

  • As someone who plans to adopt, these videos are fantastic. Were Selena and Daniel the only prospective children that you met? If not, can you talk about that experience.

  • You guys are simply AMAZING. Really enjoyed this series.

  • None of your videos have ever been boring. They have been entertaining and educational. The bound the kids have with the 2 of you shows in your videos. You can tell that Daneial is Daddy Bryans boy and Selna is Daddy's Jays little girl. Keep the videos coming Leffew family. Take Care, Thom from Ohio

  • Just watched the latest video. This adoption story is worthy of Disney, it really touches the heart. I'm trilled that this all worked out so well, I really truly am. Your family is an inspiration to the world!!

    Your Irish pal,

    Paul.

  • Here at work and noticed video...can't see it yet via iPhone. Will have to wait until I get home. Dang

  • oohhs i stole the spotlight, first comment !!!! lol
