Right now...RIGHT NOW China is LIVING off the interest the US is PAING to cover the loans this country has secured for such things as Middle east wars and military interests. Thousands of roads, building bridges, schools,hospitals, airports.creating national parks,etc.This is more than just a ditch! And as far as pay It was better than breadlines and soup kitchens! Actually FDR reduced unemployment from 25%(something he inherited from Hoover) to 9% in 3 years. The fact that the WPA created 8.5 million jobs alone from 1935 to 1943 says increase in unemployment just doesn't make sense. This is the Historic Statistics of the U.S.

FDR is one of the greatest presidents in my opinion. Throughout all of the events that happened while he was still in office, he was still able to pull our country together and doing something instead of just sitting there and doing nothing.

Warren Harding combated teh depression of 1920-21 with government downsizing and saw a 9 month recovery from 13% unemployment
