Thanks for watching. Lloyd was a great influence on my guitar playing.I was in my 20s and playing in Rock Bands , in the local Bars. I thought I was pretty Good! Lloyd showed me, nicely, that I didn't know Diddilly. I catch myself playing licks and chords I learned from him 30 years ago! Twang!
Beautifully done, I took lessons from Lloyd long ago. A very sweet and kind man so committed to music and sharing the knowledge with his students. His method of writing chord charts is one of the better systems I've seen. If his children & students get together to publish them it would be a wonderful legacy to him.
Boy this sounds familiar - sounds good! A search for Lloyd Hazelbaker brought me here. He was also my guitar teacher, and friend, many years ago. What a guy, what a guitarist - I have much sheet music from him I still have yet to learn. I still think about him, and miss him, so talented. I just picked up a "thinline" guitar with him in mind (Gibson ES-137). In a strange twist, his son was also my teacher once upon a time at Mehas Music, an Eddie Van Halen virtuoso himself. Play on!
I love it Keith.... very well arranged and played.
I just took up the guitar again after 18 years without one and this song has been on the short list of 5 solo acoustic instrumentals I wanted to learn. I have come across so many versions but yours is warm, simple, heart felt with the right amount of originality. I have already got the first 45 seconds figured out but had to stop long enough to thank you for the video. Yes, I subscribed to your channel!
Thank you so much for this clean and honest arrangement. In many ways I am a time warp student. What I did know about playing came from my youth in the 60’s with the Beatles and R&B. I see that influence in this arrangement with the Minor 7 voicing’s straight out of R&B tunes. The Dim7 walking up and then down really works beautifully. Your style is so clean I had most of it figured out in 30 minutes. An F played on the 5th frt with C shape works good also. Thanks again.
Hey Kieth, I must tell you that I am the most impressed with your playing, since I have watched hundreds on you tube and other sites, I think you are the coolest since Eric Clapton!!! Please don't stop posting your video's.
I will watch and learn your techings, and take up drinking French red wine.
Thank YOu, I have been playing for 43 years. I still try to learn new things. This is an arrangement I made up after drinking some very good French red wine. Cheers!
Thank you for the kind nod to my father, Lloyd Hazelbaker. I'm constantly reminded of the mark he left on this world through the knowledge of music that he shared with his many students and friends. He was humble & generous man whose talents were immense. They just don't make'em like that anymore!
Wow, what a small world. How is it you are watching me?? Your Father taught me a lot of very cool stuff, 30 years ago.I still use skills he taught me today. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed it. Keith
Once in a while I Google Lloyd's name to see if there are any references to him bc of all the people he touched, although most of that was before the age of the inet. It's nice to see that a few folks give him the credit he deserves. I think of him as a kind of "cult hero" due to his humble manner . He was never one to blow his own horn...didn't need to. As he would've said, " I know who I am" I very much appreciate anyone who keeps his memory alive. Thanks, Laura
