I hate those pipes! I got them too they look great sound deadly but drag hard on the pavement on right hand corners. Mine rusted too after a couple years
@oldbuckshot Yeah the right hand turn thing was def a hindrance but looking back I wouldn't say I hated them. If a sportster were my only bike I wouldn't want these pipes because I wouldn't be able to ride aggressively, but I have a triumph that I can hit the corners hard with so I wouldn't be totally against these pipes.
Honestly, I'd prefer to just get an 04 or newer Sportster. There are WAY more options for pipes :)
@KAP41k I'm 5'10" and 180lbs. I feel just fine with them. Being used to forward controls it was a little weird the first time I rode it with mids but now I can't imagine going back. I like the more aggressive riding position. I do however have highway pegs where my fwd's used to be so I can still stretch out on longer rides. In short, I don't feel cramped when riding.
Hey man nice bike! Your description says you have it slammed...I was just wondering what rear shocks you have on that. Are they Burly shocks? Also, anything done to the forks? It seems like you have quite a bit of room left for leaning in corners too right?
@KAP41k Theyre progressive shocks. I guess "slammed" isnt the BEST adjective but it was the shortest shocks they made (11"). With the pipes in the video i would scrape from time to time in right turns. I got new pipes though that go straight back from the heads and I have yet to scrap anything since. I also switched back to mid controls since this video. Not that that affects clearance but because of them I do lean the bike more now than before.
@VinnyTheCuz No idea, I just bought it off of him. I wouldn't even know how to get a hold of him. I'm sure any custom seat maker could do one though. If you want to replicate it I can take some pictures of mine and email them to you if you'd like.
@VinnyTheCuz I think he lived in Queen Creek, AZ. I was in Glendale, AZ at the time. I dont know if he made it himself or not, I just bought it off him.

@gotboost2jz Ya i geuss i dont "hate" them but am gonna switch out for a set of good ol drag pipes
oldbuckshot 3 months ago
@oldbuckshot I'm done with open drag pipes. Even with baffles they were such a pain to work with and tune for (carb'd bike).
Sucks because the ones I switched to after these bassanis looked great.

@greenmarine5
These were on the bike when I bought it but I ended up replacing them and installing the news one myself yes.

Also, how tall are you? Are the mid controls cramped for your height?
