wow nice. i did not know eduard had one of the scale, but eduard go rid of most of their awesome 1/144 scale wwii aircraft, especially the ju 52 minesweeper 1/144
@HeartGoldMVP The Eduard 1/144 scale Junkers Ju 52 Minesweeper is being offered as a price in my competition this year.. Nobody wanted it last year, so it is still there! I have already had another request about it.. :) Need to do some research now, I am curious as to why there's a sudden interest in it.. perhaps I'm sitting on a rarity.. :) If so it will still remain in the competition prize pile, I am not a collector.. :)
That's because it is.. The Germans left a lot of near complete airframes behind in Czechoslovakia after the war, and the Czechs took advantage of that and completed them, and used them in their airforce, just giving them the name off their own aircraft industry, rather than that of Messerschmitt.. :)
@mundi67 They used a lot of the left behind German stuff, like Messerschmitt 109's in which they put leftover German Junkers Jumo engines, calling it the AVIA S-199.. I guess that for a while the Czechs must have had one of the worlds most modern airforces, using the 262's..
The video was taken from my old channel by a friend of mine when my computer broke and I lost all my saved videos.. I later closed that channel, so I was really pleased when she sent me this video the other day.. it has been processed and reprocessed which may have affected the picture quality a little.. Still, I'm glad to be able to show it at all... :) :)
Yes, I could have picked up one of those ugly Jumoschmitts at Flixton, in 1/48 scale.. I wish I had now!! Instead I bought the Mohawk, another nice kit.. But I have a feeling that next time I'll build anything in 1/48, it'll be the Hasegawa P-39 Airacobra .. Can't get too many of an interesting plane.. :)
Nope, Eduard has some fitting problems with the canopy / cockpit doors, amongst other things! The Hasegawa kit is better! That aside, I also wanted a different kit to BaronKrolok, just to compare.. :) I have no need for two 'cobras in 1/48, just the one! In 1/72 however, I can't have too many.. :)
It's been dropped on the floor a while ago, and is now back in its original state, i.e MANY pieces.. :( I'd love to make an early prototype one, with a tail wheel.. those jet engines must have burnt a hole in the ground on take off.. :)
Well, it made sense to use the facilities that was already there, and all the spare parts, engines and aircrafts that was left behind by the Germans.. I guess making and using the AVIA S-92 made the Czech Air Force one of the most modern in the world at the time.. after all, the Me 262 was superior to most other jets at the time! It was only the tactical error by a certain Adolf, that saw it used in a way it wasn't really intended for, rather than as a fighter with Luftwaffe.. :)
Rob, you're very kind to mention me. Thanks! I don't think I could work with this small a scale, and I'm definitely impressed. I'd like to do the ME 262 also, but my hands will be full with the model I just bought, and that's not even a difficult model ... I don't think. :O
It is very small, but a beautiful kit all the same.. :) I have another one which I will make into a two-seater.. I also have a couple in 1/72 scale, it's a nice aircraft! I will make a 2-seater with US insignia, I have the decals for it.. and the kit! Just need 8 arms and 48 hours in every day.. and no sleep! :) Then maybe I can get it all done..
Nice smooth nose on that if I am seeing correctly...I saw online very recently something about Tunnan being superior to Mig 15 and F 86 and maybe I sent you that url or maybe not...memory is bad but I do recall you served on Hermann's staff designing models for him to assemble...:) ha ha, great joke, eh?
Never heard of them.. but looked it up on the net!! I nearly bought a similar thing myself once.. but resisted temptation! It was a P-47 M Thunderbolt from Boxted.. but no.. I resisted the urge!! :)
Yes, it ois small.. but modern 1/144 scale kits are as wwell detailed as the larger scales.. I have built a few different ones since, and have a couple of Revell 1/144 starfighters to do soon.. they are very nice kits!! :0)
What filler do you use?

I always wanted this type of kit, worth every penny!
mickyscymon 9 months ago
@mickyscymon Sure is, especially as I got this kit very cheap.. it has a lot of detail for 1/144 scale.. :)

Shame abou the quality drop, but not as bad as I expected. That really is tiny!
I can't believe they only had the parts to make 12 of them. Then they resorted to doing 109s with THAT Jumo engine, not a very good plane...

I thought Eduard do the best 1:48 p-39? And in a 2-pack ;)
Mohawk sounds good - this is the curtiss p-36 right?

But of'course.. 2 miles south of Fidji, wasn't it?

I got a book in Polish about the plane.. I picked it up on IPMS.. Says the planning was already in 1941, where it was a propellor aeroplane!
Nice build I must say...!

whatever they say about Hermann, he did a good job picking model designers, ja? lol :)
maybe you can google me 262? I will try and see if I can find it.

I Have a model of ME-262, but what was disipointing because it was one of those easy-to-assemble models, but it is beautiful
