I bought my K7 in November 2010 and I love it. It's the first DSLR I've owned (used plenty before, from entry to pro levels) and it stands up to Canon and Nikon's prosumer range easily. Mine came with the same 18-55mm WR kit but I knew I couldn't live with it for long, so I bought a Pentax 16-45mm. That lens is sharp, fast and the boket is superb. The price is incredible too. All in all I spent £1000 which I believe is around $1200/1300 US.
I'm new to Digital SLR's and have refined my search down to a possible 3:Pentax K-7,Canon 550 D and Nikon D90.I'm leaning to the K7,but have been told the Nikon has better picture quality.I'm wanting an every day camera with pictures straight off the camera, not pictures that i have to photo shop.As this buy will possibly be "it",i want the best out of these three.I know they all have their own particular qualities and would appreciate ppl's input.
Thanks for your picks, I really appreciate it. I would encourage everyone to visit your website, there is a great amount of information there. I certainly appreciate your effort and videos. Pentax would have a real winner here if they would update their menu system some, it doesn't seem to be as good as Nikons menu system, and looks like the resolution of the LCD in not quite as good either. I haven't seen a actual pixel Dot size as yet. But hey, it's around 900.00 dollars. Thanks again.
LCD is actually excellent, and has a 920,000 pixel dot size. A lot of reviewers are saying the quality of the LCD is the best they've seen on a DSLR so far.
Well, I love the video from the Olympus E-P2 and the K7. Depending on how much weight you want and size, either the E-P2 or K7 would be my pick for video and IQ would nod to the K7 over the E-P2.
Steve, what camera do you recommend now for video and great Image quality? Thanks, just found your website, unbelievable wealth of information. Thanks so much.
