I was at this show. Was in from Brooklyn. By chance ARS was playing so I trecked way out to see them. Glad I did. They were great. I have seen them 8 or 9 times now since early 2004 at little places in Williamsburg and NYC. The Luminaire Show was the best that I have heard them sound ever. And I even talked to Heather and Ericka very briefly afterwards. Great crowd, great venue and a brilliant show. And oddly, the 1st time I had ever heard them do 'Young Turks' Thanks for the vids!
hey paul, the only other show I have seen of theirs was the weekend previously at the ICA, also in London but because it's usually an art gallery, and I guess drew in more of an art crowd, most of the patrons were standing around chin stroking. But everyone was on a party vibe at The Luminaire, and it was an utter top night!
They played young turks as the encore for the other said gig, and me and friend liked it so much we beckoned them to play it again when they asked the Luminaire crowd what they wanted as the final number! I spoke to them all for a bit after too, they're all real humble and nice girls, and it's refreshing to see bands show appreciation for fans by mingling afterwards, Annie even works the merchandise stall! Here's some photos of the same gig, have a good one getting nostalgic!
I remember you yelling out "Young Turks!" I also remember laughing at the idea of them playing a Rod Stewart song, but I was doubly surprised when they actually did. Thanks again for posting - keep London rocking and posting good vids.
