  • I melt every time I hear those octaves at 5:43-5:50 with the horns accompanying her. <3

  • I love sarah chang style and I don't care who look down HUMAN.

  • some people please shut up and just listen to this beautiful piece of music...just enjoy..

  • Dvorak = GOD

  • Now I don't even care about her technic or dancing things :p She has enormouse sex appeal. She has reached her fertile stage. GOD DAMN IT, I never thought I could say things like that to Classical artists. She is no more genious or prodigy but woman, who is dominant.

  • If the thing she's doing between 2:00 and 2:10 is called dancing, well than i'm afraid to announce you that I can dance quite well :D (lol).

  • stop dancing please... it's ridiculous... she's playing so good, and she certainly doesn't need to appear like any ordinary gwen stefani...

this seems offensive to HER mastery and to the beauty of this concert...

  • What can one say .... this is simply marvelous ...

  • Fucking in love with her! is amazing! she should come to Venezuela!

  • Im sure that everybody here who has something negative to say about her style is a much better musician. (sarcasm) If you are better than sara, then by all means, post your youtube video proving it. Otherwise, shut your fat, pretentious, pseudo-intellectual mouth hole.

  • @Lenzman you suck

  • Thanks Sarah. As always...I love you.

  • Faulty vibrato, bowing, horrible trills, intonation doubtful as always, rough bowing: the typical Delay recipy." Put more pressure on the bow" as she uses to say all the time. Lets kill the beauty of the sound, movig alot, shaking hair and body, the big show as usual... She is not at ease with her instrument and struggle with it... the end is catastrofic, but BRAVO!...that is now how the public is educated with Galamian et cie...

  • @violinistcomposer you must listen her vitali chaconne and masnet thais

maybe you can say that again you have so much bias on her too shameful

  • @violinistcomposer dejame decirte que no sabes una mierda de musica yo que vos comento de futbol mejor...

  • she moves, but her bowing is terrible...typical of Delay and faulty vivrato, intonation...

  • In "Sarah" chinese chosaky hast, ama Dvorak mal Czech bud va Sarasate mal Espaniol.

  • Sarah is playing this with the Czech national orchestra. They love her and her interpretation of Dvorak to bits - and they've played together a lot. Who are any of you to argue with them?

  • *throws bow at 5:17* luckily there is a fermata for her to take the concertmasters haha

  • @bad5096 huh?! HAHAS.

  • this movement is so amazing. i love it! it's so fresh and ... just beautiful...

  • it' so beautiful piece!!! this movement is so amazing. i love it! it's so fresh and ... just amazing.

  • @BBRENTTAGHAPP Thankful ! Thanks for posting, and .....playing !!!

  • i love it when she is playing so feircly that her hair falls out of her clip!!! soooo inpiring!!! :)

  • ... such a pleasure to listen to this ... so joyful and passionate ...

  • I love Sarah Chang! Its awesome how she made the concerto so charming as possible! <3 <3

  • She really is an angel in every way !!

  • baffles me why anyone would NOT like this video.

  • I don't believe Song Tra Bong is better than her. No one can dance like her XD

  • just saw her last night for my 1st time at the hollywood bowl. having enjoyed classical as a simple listener for many years, i'll seak her work out now. SO expressive in body and sound! what a delight!

  • where is this, the hall looks beautiful.

  • @kuvhlubkojibleegxwbo Royal Albert Hall in London. Its acoustics are ok, but its during the bbc proms.

  • I really didn't like this performance. Some of you call it passion but honestly her sound sounds a bit strained and you can HEAR her technique at work! Especially at 1:12 to about 1:35 . You can hear the crossing and in between things. You'd never hear that from Perlman or Heifetz. I like Sarah but I didn't appreciate this performance.

  • kyung wha chung is better than sarah chang

  • @tamsuiman Only if you have a hag fetish.

  • @tamsuiman I agree! way better. I must say this was not a great performance by Sarah though.....

  • @tamsuiman I 100% agree. I feel as if everyone should check out Kyung Wha Chung's interpretation also on youtube. Sarah Chang is an amazing violinist and blows this concerto out of the park, but I just have to say when it comes to the Dvorak, Chung's interpretation is just explosive and out of this world. :)

  • aww 3:56 was so cute :P

  • one of her horsehair snapped at 1:41. hehehe. go Sarah Chang!

  • wit weew

  • oh Dios mío, esta mujer toca extremadamente delicioso el violín...

    me encanta verla tocar

  • @gregapage I hate trolls. Which mean I hate you.

    This is amazing!

  • @gregapage Hey! That's both rude and racist! Tsk, tsk! Moreover, it's superficial and totally irrelevant to Sarah's amazing playing.

Your outlook liliputian. *frowns and shakes head in dismay*

  • @gregapage besides, she's korean

  • i love sarah chang but this concerto is sloppy interpretation

  • She looks like she's having a blast! AWESOME :D

  • of corse she is dancing, shes not just playing the piece, shes letting the music flow through her, a sign of a true artest.

  • mhh... i used to like this version, but a week ago i heard frank peter zimmermann live with this piece.

i dont like it with too much vibrato and... tendence to overdoing and such things. and her sound is not that good, i find. maybe its the mice technique, but it might also be because she's using too much force. could it be that she is tired after a half an hour of this extremely difficult piece?

of course, thats just my taste, but i loved zimmermann's version!! so cool and perfect!

  • Woooffffffffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jghamm wtf. This is a passionate piece, and I think she presents a wonderful interpretation. Are you an tea drinking, cross-eyed European mongrel? Sorry, you sound like one.

  • @MyMemories19 HAhahahaha.....thats funny. Whoever ur trying to dis, you just totally kicked him in the nuts with that. hahahahaha

  • @jghamm ummm dvorak ditched europe to come to america, and he seemed to take a liking to us, so this "vulgar" american interpretation pretty well trumps your bland, delicate tastes.

  • @huntkye he didnt ditch europe to go to the states. he moved to the states because they offered him a position with good money, he actually got depressed and homesick after a while , he moved back to europe with no intention of returning to america.... so i dont think he took liking to america.

  • ...ummh,very amazing!!

  • I love this music♥♥♥!!!~

  • WOW BRAVO!

  • I heard another stunning Korean beauty and virtuoso play this piece six days ago - Chee-yun. They are both fine musicians. However, 'thought she looks 20 years old, Chee-yun Kim is ten years Sarah's senior. I feel you can hear that extra ten years of maturation in the rapid passages. Every note that Chee-yun plays is as gorgeous as she herself is. Sarah occasionally seems to rush from one note to the next missing the rich and nuanced tonality we hear in Chee-yun's playing. Greg G. of Portland

  • Aplausos merecidos... muito bom.... :)

  • ho ho she has sexy hairstyle I like it ;D

  • 5:20 fire in the hall !! Listen to the alarm !!

  • anyone else hear cop sirens at 5:21?

  • @indoormusic lol yes i hear it!

  • She's korean....

  • i cried when i listened to all the concertos

  • 2:22 is that a guitar ?

  • cello

  • cello and double bass..

  • wow, so passionate and awesome sounding...

  • Her bow keeps shedding, I used to have that problem until my teacher got tired of it and said "every hair that comes out of the bow I'm taking off the top of your head" and surely enough I got better. Wonderful performance!

  • from 2:00 to 2:10 it looks like shes dancing, just great^^

shes such a great musican (and a good dancer :P ) and is one with the music

  • she is not dancing any more now.

  • i would make passionate love with this goddess..she is perfection!

  • Many of us here feel the same way....

  • Bravo!

  • the dancing is flipping awesome 5 stars

  • totally beth, but some ppl don't like it

  • A damn she's fast!

  • I love who she looks in the eye at 1:55. Like she was thinking "Phew!"

  • What a wonderful performance by Sarah Chang! I love watching her play with her little dances now and then. Anyone know who the conductor is?

  • the conductor is named at 6:19

  • wonder if she have time to find a boyfriend of her own, cuz she seem to be so busy with her traveling and music career, do anybody know if she have a boyfriend.

  • I just love this concerto sooo much. I love every concerto out there. Mostly the Prokofiev

  • 0:50-1:56 is just awesome and she makes it even more amazing!! She is such a goddess :):):)

  • i want to kiss her hand lucky old guy

  • totally

  • I could too, this part is my favorite movenment, i love the double stop part, its so cool, it also sound really sad and with lots of sorrow.

  • I could listen to Sarah Chang play all day long!

  • 3:39 - 3:49 nice straight bow!!

  • awesome piece.

    Thank you for posting

Its important to have people who are willing to post these things for other people :)

  • Thank you very much for the posting of this video Oxy151268! Its a great one!

  • I love it whe she moves! such an amazing artist!

  • I didnt used to like this piece before I heard her play it. And all of you who say she's dancing need to get a life, or stop watching orchestra videos. That is the way she shows her emotions, without words. If u dont like it, then dont freakin watch it!! God I love this woman

  • @xXJohnnymac16Xx Totally, 100% agreed! :)

  • Sarah Chang looks so cute when she dances with the violin. She's my favorite violinist so far

  • Yeah, well, I love her dancing; it's cute. And it makes it that much more fun to watch!!!! I just LOVE watching this woman Play!!!! She like a breath of fresh air from the other violinists!!

  • I think at 2:00 she kinda did her dancing.

  • I love you sarah CHang!!!!!!!!!

    Would you marry me!!!!!!!!!

I'll be your perfect husband. We'll be perfoming together in concert. We both are amazing in playing the violin. I had played all most all of the peice you played.

  • Chang : Your freakish long name is a real turn-off.

  • I think you're least compatible for Sarah Chang. Not even a inch close to her.

  • why so are you saying that you know her.

  • at like 1:58 it looks like she took a deep breath. lol.

  • What year was this

  • shes so hardrock that she has the hair of her bow brak and pop out hahahha:)))

i love her bow tech, and her face expressions when she plays, you can tell she gets into the song alot and expresses every note well

  • <3

I can't get over her bow technique every time I see something of hers.

  • Perfeita !

  • I love sarah Chang !!!!!!!!!!! Who does love sarah chang.

  • guilti

  • I'm sitting here in my apartment all alone watching this and I was so completely absorbed by this performance I very nearly stood and applauded at the end before I remembered that it's just a computer screen.

Whew! Girl can scratch a few out on that fiddle of hers!

  • THat's really funny. Well it's good that you like sarah chang too.

  • lol srry for my joke

but i don't want sarah chang to marry anytime soon.

  • I've never heard anyone play with such a full and passionate sound as Sarah Chang. She's my favorite violinist.

  • bravo bravo

  • her passion made me like this piece, perman' s and oistrakh's vresions are really good too but did not sound as passionate :D

  • Sarah Chang is AMAZING!!!! I absolutely adore watching her play the violin, she is so passionate, and you can tell from the expression on her face that she loves doing it, she always has this look of rapture on her face as she performs. This is fantastic, how could anyone NOT LOVE classical music after listening to/watching this...?

  • Wow, you could feel the excitement at the end of it.

  • I like Ruggiero Ricci's interpretation of this movement.

  • im trembling coz she is soo amazing, cool!incredible!i wonder if i can face that many ppl n i can be that great 0.0 hope i get better in my violiin ohmigod!she is soo godd!

  • A minor ~+~+~

  • KOREAN not Chinese

  • She always wears the RIGHT dress for the WRONG occasion! Beautiful dress, Mam, but you are in a Philarmonic, not a night party! Get something like white, black, elegant, and... I like your taste, but not the occasion

  • Actually Chinese opinion about dressing is totally different from European. So mind culture difference.

  • I won't mind the fact you just assume every Asian person is Chinese too while trying to defend them. Shame on you.

Then again she was born and brought up in America and as for dress sense, I really think it's the culture of the classical music, not the origin of her birthplace. Doesn't matter what ethnicity you are if you're playing classical music wear a nice suit or dress, it's common sense.

  • WHat all of you are forgetting is that as a musician interprets music and plays accordingly so can that musician express their interpretation through their outfit. It's an expression of interpretation.

  • I like her interpretation. I think it fits well with the orchestra.

  • looking for Chang plays Paganini. any?

    PS: Chang is wonderfull.

  • I on the other hand don't this her interpretation is boring. I really like it, even though it seems rather harsh. She plays beautifully and she can interpret the song how ever she wants to. =) Dvorak rules!

  • HEAVY!!! poor dvorak.

  • Would you believe me if I told you Dvořák liked the violin? ;-) Anyway, I love Sarah Chang, but I don't particularly like this rendition. A bit harsh for my tastes, but absolutely spellbinding nonetheless.

  • I really like the conductor as well. Sarah is great.

  • She plays very good but without any real feeling for Dvorak and Czech music. Sounds a bit strange...

  • What a beautiful dress she got !

  • Lol... And what about her interpretation of Dvorak?...

Personnaly, I found that boring ^^

  • Listen to oistrakh for the last word in this concerto.

  • her bow arm is too harsh --- wow, some of the sections are choppy -- I think it's technical endurance problem...

  • Sarah Chang is very talented and a beautiful girl. Moreover, this is a great violin concerto. I didn't know it, this is the first time I hear this work, but it is quite good.

  • I did not know he had a concerto! And OMG amazing!

  • out of so many skilled violinist, i love sarah chang's rendition. she's able to capture something different.

  • she has gained weight.. but stil hot

  • She's dancing!! :)

    great performance!!!

  • Hey, BBC Symphony's doing a pretty good job here, I think.

  • My bad, its the Czech Philharmonic.

  • I LOVE this song. She has a very good interpretation on this piece. (I think it would sound better a little faster though...)Very well done!!!

  • ohhh pthat poor 1717 guarneri del gesu violin....get totured with sarah chang's aggressive bowing...anyway very good performance though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............

  • Is she related to Kyung Wah Chung (also a Korean violinist)?

  • Sarah Chang has a similar last name but she's not related to Kyung Wah Chung. Chang is pronounced more like Jang (a as in card) whereas Chung sounds more like Jeong in Korean.

  • she makes it look so easy!

    great dress too!

  • i love how she puts so much emotion into her performance, this piece sounds very challenging but she did a great job.

  • no way!

  • Full of Musicianship... pretty rare today! She never stop getting better! I'm intrigued how good she will be when she will be 50! maybe she will reach oistrakh and heifetz... would not be surprised!

  • i love how she gets so into her piece

    even while dancing XD

  • She's amazing!!!

  • amazing. love sarah chang.

  • Sarah is one of my favorite violinists and I do love this awesome piece by Dvorak, but here her performance is disappointing compared with the outstanding interpretation by Kyung Wha Chung, full of beauty, charm and clarity. I think Sarah failed to go through the essence and hidden beauty of this awesome piece, though I like her performance of other pieces. If this concerto is your favorite, I'd like to recommend the stunning interpretation of Kyung Wha Chung (EMI).

  • shut the hell up samchen

  • so much power in her playing! just lovely

  • sarah's great!

  • also great orchestra!!

  • I've always wondered why her live performances are so different from her recordings. She seems to always either take a faster tempo or cut small portions out of pieces in her live performances and she also plays with more aggressiveness. The first movement in this video is around 10 minutes, and her recording of it is at 12 minutes. Also, the live performance of her Vitali Chaconne is 8 minutes, and her recording is 10minutes. I've never really understood it. Still, Great playing in this video!

  • The melody in the beginning of this video reminds me of the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3's melody...
