@tonemeister3 I can't slide it down because the 'Integrated Suspension System' isnn't attatched to the tom .. I don't know how to attatch it. You'd think they'd give me an instruction booklet ..
Just got this kit today, with the black finish. Really pleased with it and can recommend to any drummer looking for a decent starter kit.
The only "remark" I have is that the cymbals are not on par with the rest of the kit. I was expecting this tho, next time I'm getting a zyldjan rock set, then it'll be quite perfect!
@ImFromFlorence yes, it comes with the heads. if you're ordering the drum kit online you have to mount the heads yourself. if you're picking it up from a local
store have the "Expert" mount and tune it and maybe get a free set of drumsticks.
you should wear ear muffs or isolation headphones when practicing or jamming, especially if you practice in a small room. i wear vic firth isolation headphones $50. i hope you were just kidding about your hearing.
I wish i could afford a Forum. The wine red finish with black hardware is Slick... But i got a Ludwig Accent.. It has my basic requirement to add a Rack tom and Floor tom and if i want another bass drum...
Your right new heads. I got a Remo Emperor clear on my mid tom and it sounds a lot than before but when i get new heads for my drums i want to get Evans EC2 clears... I'm not sure what i want on my snare and bass yet... But the cymbals i have Which are Meinl HCS and soon MCS cymbals sound good enough to keep me playing what i want for awhile. But i really want Meinl Byzance cymbals =]
on the snare, I have stock on top but, Remo black x suede bottom. tighten up the snare wire. also try moongels for tone and muffling. check out my latest drum vid you'll see my heads. I have Sabian B8 cymbals. cheers
Yh, I've Got Remo Ebony Pinstripes (on My 10", 12", 13", 14" And The 16")And A Remo Ebony Suede Snare, They Are Awsome! I Also Have Sabian XS20 Cymbals (Hats 14", Crash 16", Bigger Crash 18", Ride 20", splash 10" and China 18") With Iron Cobra Power Glide Double Pedals! All together Its A BEAUTIFUL Kit! (Has Taken Me 2 Years To Get The Money For All These)
Cool The way i want my set to be is kinda like yours expect i want 2 more crashes 1 more splash 1 more china and 1 more bass drum.. and if i ever get around to it, 1 more set of Hats and 1 more ride...I think I'm gonna stick with Mienl HCS and MCS Cymbals Cause there EXTREMELY cheap but sound incredible the 16" crash is only like $50 in the US. I'm not sure what that is equivalent to in Pounds But its really cheap =]
you dont have to be right handed to play cross-sticks mate! if your left handed you should play left foot on the bass right foot on the hat right hand on the snare left on the hat. i only find open handed playing style useful when working on my "weaker-side"
I am left handed and SeanFinni IS RIGHT this is how I have my drums setup to play. if your left handed you should play left foot on the bass right foot on the hat right hand on the snare left on the hat. I have always played like this, cross handed and it is not comfortable to have the hi hats and/or snare on your left side. Have you tried it this way, you may be more relaxed. I don't know of any left handed drummer that play your way? I may be wrong ?
@kourse I'm left handed and I have my hi hats and snare on left side

@xxxDavid23xxx yes, it good for practicing but, I've upgraded to the Sabian B8 since. check out my latest cover jam to hear what it sounds like.

I got that today but I have no idea how to mount the toms?
AyeshaaOx 1 year ago
@AyeshaaOx install the tom mounts on the kick drum and the tom should just slide right into the mount.

@tonemeister3 I can't slide it down because the 'Integrated Suspension System' isnn't attatched to the tom .. I don't know how to attatch it. You'd think they'd give me an instruction booklet ..
AyeshaaOx 1 year ago
@AyeshaaOx the suspension system just hooks into the tom rim and held by 2 bolts.

plays the same way. also this vid is a year old. been doing cover jams since
tonemeister3 1 year ago
@reecetheblader Actually, I'm an open handed drummer. Been drumming open handed forever. It feels more natural to me then standard.

What cymbal do you go onto at 0:53 ?
AdamHasAHat 1 year ago
@AdamHasAHat these are the stock cymbals. but, now
I have Sabian B8 on my new vids.
tonemeister3 1 year ago
@tonemeister3 sorry, i meant what type of cymbal because if it was anything other than a china or a very lightly tapped crash i would be worried.
AdamHasAHat 1 year ago
@AdamHasAHat it was 14" thin crash, the other cymbal
is a 20" ride. both stock

Does this kit come with heads when ordered from Guitar Center? They didn't specify and I don't want to call another "Expert"
ImFromFlorence 1 year ago

AustinSk84life95 2 years ago 17

I actually considered the Accent but, went with the Forum because of the bigger kick drum and gold color. try some new remo head on your new drums
tonemeister3 2 years ago
Cool. But they both sound good and i will get some Remo heads..

elementskater3934 2 years ago
what do you mean? are getting like a boing type of sound when you hit your snare? if so, try some muffling like aquarian rings, or moon gels.
tonemeister3 2 years ago
no its a ringing sound afterword with the snare and where do u get aquarian rings or moon gels?

dude it sats..."im using aquarian rings" right in the description

gotta work on basic coordination first LOL

For a person who hits the snare with his right and the hi-hat with his left, it's kinda set up awkward for you.
numba1craze 2 years ago
i'm actually left-handed that's why I'm not playing "cross-sticks"
tonemeister3 2 years ago
Well that's what I meant.
