Why believe a group of people who weren't there over a group of people who were there, along with an interview with villagers after the event? What's your reasoning?

My reasoning is that Koppel was in a communist country where there is no freedom of thought or speech. They know exactly who he is, a high profile journalist in the U.S. Kerry is a hero in Viet Nam. The gov't controls things there. Have you been to Viet Nam?

I really wish I could agree with you, policeeatdoughnuts. But given the extreme amount of insane attacks and resistence the right wing has been leveling at Obama, I strongly doubt Kerry would have been able to fend off similar vitrol to ensure proper governance.

The lesson we learned from Kerry is that simply being smart and having good ideas are not enough to ensure a successful leadership.
