I bought this amp 3 days ago - I am using this thing for bedroom practice and band rehearsal. For bedroom practice this is one wild unleashed beast - WAY to loud! it is able to let the windows rattle and shake ...
this amp sounds good, but it dont have fame, then you think is shitty, if marshall puts this amp into a jtm45 case, you will say: OH GODNESS, ANOTHER FUCKING AWESOME JTM45
Idiots, talking about how a 100 watt head has twice the power. Don't let the 1 x 12 internal speaker turn you away, you can run this thing through any 4 x 12 cab, and it is much louder, than the original 1 x 12, I use this amp at moderate to small sized gigs with a cab, and it sounds great.
got mine 300£ second hand.. it's pretty good but you definitely need a pedal if you are into the heavier stuff. some of my vids i use a pedal but some i don't.. if i was to play a cover of sweet child o mine i would only use the amp tone because it's so full and rich

actually this amp is pretty good for what it is. it's definitely not amazing but for the money you do buy as much marshall sound as you could. it sounds really bigger than 1x12 and VERY loud -loud enough for gigging at a club without even PA. 2 channels, some pretty decent effects on board (i know what purists say but this ain't no jcm800) really it's more than it's asking price imo.
I took this amp home for a day....Played it for a few hours. It sounded ok, but I did not like the effects. As soon as I turned them on, the amp becomes very digital sounding. After a couple of hours, the amp made a loud popping sound, and then I was shocked right through my Geetar. Needless to say, I took it back and got another Fender.
Yeaaah dude, you tell them, that's exactly what I thougt!
F*in Gear-Snobs, stupid little jerkoffs (no matter how old). I love this little amp (and you can plug it into a big box, so where's the problem? 40W Valve Power is quite LOUD), I'm thinking about selling my VM 2266c and getting one of these.. had to much hassle with the VM, the Valves, the Tranny, Reverb and the FX loop... this one sounds just right, I love the FX, Vibrato sounds almost like MXR Phase 90... awsome..
Marshall has done a good job of playing on their name to sell more amps. But... Marshall will never put their premiere tone on their lesser priced amps. They all lack something in the sound that you will discover if you get the chance to play a top of the line Marshall. Some of their cheaper amps downright stink, like the ill fated AVT series. If you really want Marshall tone, spend at least $2000 on an actual Marshall amp, don't piss away your money on this Haze gimmick.
@jtryde lol Dude... spoken like one true "Gear-Snob". You man, DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! So tired of these goddamn snobs! KIDS DON'T LISTEN TO HIS GIBBERISH. I play Guit now for 28 years, I had few Marshalls: Major (the old 200w JMP), JCM800, DSL50 head and now Vintage Modern and I know what a "Marshall sound" is, really not that mystical. You don't need a 2000$ Snob-Amp to get it. Use your ears, don't listen to snobs! This one is suprisingly well sounding, I'll get one. Cheers!
... watched several Haze demos... still trying to find a decent one... too many widdlers demonstrating what may be a really good amp... and that reverb just sounds 'orrid... what exactly is this guy demonstrating...
I actually have tested this amp over two days. I kind of liked it quite a lot... but when returning it to the store and tested it against both the JCM2000 and Vintage Modern... it did'n really sound any good anymore. If you buy this amp... don't ever try a real Marshall until you decide to sell the Haze...
hit the nail on the head there, i have tried both the stack and the combo. i wasnt a hudge fan of the combo simply because you just cant generate anything useful from it, without the bright switch its really muddy, with it, its too tinny in places. the stack was slightly better, but its got a mind of its own when it comes to volume!!
Well... if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck... right?
But if it doesn't look like a duck, walk like a duck or quacks like a duck, you may suspect it is something different right?
The Haze 40 have more a plastictoy look rather than a rock n' roll look... and it sound incredibly cheap for a full valve amplifier... and it's even made in India to make it cheap... owned by Marshall, but not really a Marshall as you would expect it to be.
@BigBadBlues85 Sure you can. I ended up with the 65amps Lil' Elvis and I can assure you that despite the fact that a 100W Marshall head got close to 10xpower, I still haven't encountered a Marshall that can got so defined and juicy sound as my Elvis.
Also, I tried the 50W 2266 Vintage Modern head... not 2466, so it only have 10W more. The Haze combo is 40W.
Going from 50W to 100W doesn't even mean that you'll play that much louder... but it does give you a bit more headroom on the clean sounds.
Oh my god, here come the gear-snobs, you can play whatever you want with any amp with the exclusion of cheapy $200-300 amps. The amp isn't the thing holding a guitarist back, it is themselves, their practice ethic, and determination. i have this amp, and it can do almost anything tonally, and I play it through a 4 x 12 cab when i play live, and it sounds even better.
@caruso707 I agree 100%. I play with the same set up live, Haze 15 head thru a 1960a cab and it straight up rocks. I get lots of different sounds from my guitars and this amp just by using pick up selectors and volume knob on guitar and different attack techniques.

Can the Marshal Haze 15 head work with the Zakk wylde marshall microstack
D3stroyer891 2 years ago
it can but the tens in the cab doesn't handle the low end properly, but they work while you save for the cab that's what i did
abstractvisions 2 years ago
I wish Marshall would make a decent sounding transistor amp with no effects and more than 100 watts rms (not a MG)!
Make it with the same good looks of the Haze but transisters 200 watts no effects...
Grey front with either black or red tolex...Is that to much to ask for?

I have a 50 Valvestate and tried a DSL 401
and a Class 5 .
Haze has different sound and less tubes than a british Marshall.
I prefer them from UK not from India!

Have you tried using the haze head with an another cabinet?, cause i heard it sounds alot more better.
Mngus1994 2 years ago
@Mngus1994 Must the cabinet be a Marshall, or could it be any brand?
Ande5865 2 years ago
I read somewhere that the haze head+Celestion greenbacks is very good mix,so i was wondering if someone tried something else with it.
Mngus1994 2 years ago
I'll try asking around.. that sounds pretty interesting.. :D If you learn something, please write :)
