  • I think she has played hundreds of extra hard peices. What else can you play? well i havent seen twinkle twinkle little star on any famous pianists :P

  • there is something so heartbreaking about this valse..

  • Starting today - for 4 weeks only , DVD+CD gift set Chopin Recital ( is on Amazon.com. Once they gone - they are gone :-)

Search "Lisitsa Chopin" on Amazon and you will find it :) Not available anywhere else...

  • haunting.

  • Not easy to work with the computer, when Val and the pianos are only a mouseclick away..I like this small problem.

  • q bellas manos, excelente técnica me encanta

  • i love all your music, especially this one, simple yet so complex.. you play so beautifully. it must be so rewarding to be able to feel and play these peices. a dream i one day hope to turn into reality...

  • Cudowne walce Chopina - grane z polotem, finezją, namiętnością - wielkie dzięki. Valentina proszę o nagranie ballad Chopina

  • One person accidentally clicked the dislike button...

  • @mistymount07 two people now...I guess they were drunk...?

  • Simply divine the way you express this magical piece. The piano is absolutely superb in every respect. You connect with it so well. Thank you for this!

  • It's apparent that as you play, you become one with the instrument and the music. It's obvious that you derive great joy from expressing your art. Your musical artistry brings joy to me and countless others.

  • I respect your work very much Miss Lisitsa! Keep it up and ill keep listening!

    Thank You Sincerely!

    , Josh

  • gorgeous <3

  • I've been learning this for a little while now, and I'm completely jealous of your calm hands. So in control. You also got the Valse rhythm down so well. Most people I hear play this don't do the strong-weak-weak beats as well as you do. I try to play this a little more Lento though.

  • speechless!

  • On this piece, my heart and soul are "already stolen" by the late Sviatoslav Richter. Maestro, RIP.

One fool like me dare to speak... .

    Sorry... .

  • Wonderful singing tone on the melody there. I've always liked that about steinway pianos, the melody comes out really mellow.

  • fuck these capitalist pop up commercials from u tube!i wanna get adolf hitler up your asses!

  • Beautiful.

  • Excellent playing!!! BRAVISSIMA!!!

  • Thumbs up if you've played this piece before!

  • I used to play this. But from 4:00, I learned something from this vid.

My interpretation was wrong all the time. Now I know.

Valentina, I REALLY liked this one. This piece is not as popular as it really deserves. But you played it the way it should be played. Thanks for the great time.

  • It's like you're petting the piano. Wonderful. I wish I could get my hands so relaxed.

  • The sound is marvelous, and so is the video.

  • Hello Valentina. I would ask the name of a good book on technique. What would it be?

  • @Roodriguees Bach WTC , no doubt !

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Thank's. I need of more technique. I think that this book can be a little difficult to find, here in Brazil. But its okay! =-)

  • Thank you Valentina "Brilliante" Lisitsa!!!

  • could you play (and upload) Op 34 #1 ? I love this waltz even more than #2...

  • Wenn solche Hände fähig werden und sind, das auszudrücken, was in der Seele sich bewegt, dann spielt man dieses Instrument so wie Lisitsa!!

  • Hi Valentina. Your Chopin is unbelievably beautiful as usual. I'm a huge fan because you are not only one of the greatest pianists I know, but also you are really nice person, too. When I met you in Raleigh at a benefit concert, you signed my Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody book & both of your DVDs. You encouraged me tons. I'm going to keep watching all your videos! :)

    Nick

  • @NicholasPiano Can I invite you to North Carolina Symphony with Saint-Saens #2 in Feb?

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Yes!!!

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Ok thanks a lot for the answer, for a unmixed sound the sound is really not bad and very nice natural reverb , especially it seems that he is using surround mics, I see no mics in the piano, I am trying to get my way in recording classical music as well ! What would be great would be to record Masters directly on to SACD for the best sound quality available today for music in my opinion. That would be amazing.

Again thank you for the answer and the amazing vids :)

  • @cahutman I don't remember exactly but on ustream.com there are complete sessions with Etudes - you might want to take a lokk for mike placement .there were trhee sets of mikes - close, mid and far - for later mixing.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Ok thanks a lot i'll go check it out.

  • Ah, my favorite Chopin waltz.

  • Can i ask what camera(s) you use? :) beautiful playing as always <3

  • @Jolteon206 I am too busy playing to keep notice of camer brand. I do think - Canon , but not proprietary video , but photo cameras with 1080 capability.

  • You're videos are the highest quality all the way. Thank you so much for all these wonderful performances.

  • Это какой-то особенный Стэнвэй, с росписью.

    Я еще таких не видел.....

  • i'm so glad i subscribed to this wonderful pianist. what a talent

  • come è difficile, più difficile, suonare la musica NON difficile! Valentina ci fai volare e unisci misteriosamente la tristezza con la felicità

  • Hello lady Valentina! I have a question for you please, i've been following you on youtube (sadly i can't see you live) for quite some time now and i have tried playing myself a couple of your choices.

However i have the feeling certain parts sound different. I am probably just playing them wrongly, but my question is do you use the same sheets as everyone or do you have some kind of advanced piano concert version of them?

That being said, you are wonderful and mesmerising as always :)

  • @Makedonwow I would imagine her to use Urtext editions, which are the unedited versions. ;)

  • @Jolteon206 Hahaha! There are no Urtext editions - we are free!!!!!!!! Joking aside, Chopin never stopped working on his peices even after they were published in one edition he would change it for another.

  • @Jolteon206 Hahaha! There are no Urtext editions - we are free!Joking aside, Chopin never stopped working on his peices even after they were published in one edition he would change it for another.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Well you learn something everyday :P my book of Chopin waltzes says its Urtext :S xD

  • @Makedonwow Hi :-) Chopin left us with countless versions of these peices . Some of editions do not even bother to mark them - some do. I enjoy incorporating those little details that are different from what everybody is using.

  • Chopin always seems to be able to capture the "beautiful but sad" mood.

  • you dont have any idea how many memories i have connected with this song... you are an INSPIRATION! thank you so much for sharing your beautiful music.

  • Quantum stuff.

  • So beautiful yet so incredibly sad. I wonder what Chopin was feeling when he composed this.

  • I aggree with Pianor91.... You definately should come to UK. I Flew all the way to Oregon to see you play. Now that's dedication hahaha. I am a massive fan I must admit! Much love and luck. xxxxxx

  • Dear Valentina, I am going to post on every video until we British fans get our answer: when can we expect to see you perform in London or England in general?

  • @pianor91 I was asked to do a benefit concert in London in May. Details to come :-)

  • Hey valentina wonderful really everything you play! I was wondering if you could make a video playing valse opus 70 no 1. of chopin!! you like that one??

  • Hi valentina I have just a little question, who is your sound engineer for all those youtube vids ? I love his work, especially with your magnificent playing.

  • @cahutman All Chopin that was uploaded recently was done in one day - in Hannover after an "official" recording sesison with 24 Etudes. Sound is Wolf-Dieter Karwatky, multiple Grammy winner by the way...

  • @ValentinaLisitsa It doesn't surprise me that he won multiple prizes, I checked a bit his work on google and he seems to know his stuff lol

  • Magnifique Valentina!

  • Can you please play Mozart's Sonata Facile k. 545? It's easy to play, but hard to play well. It's requires evenness and your delicacy!! Please? I'll be your best friend! :D

  • DDDDDDx more chopiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin

  • Never heard it so gently and "elastic", beautyfull!

  • where is youre börsendörfer haha

  • @piano361 at home :-)

  • @ValentinaLisitsa could i ask how many pianos you have ? :)

  • @ValentinaLisitsa I think that you play so good in a Steinway as in a Börsendörfer....you're marvelous!

    congrats and regards from Colombia!

  • amazing videos

  • Valentina and Chopin, spectacular duo

  • I love the way you caress the piano as you play. It seems to come out in the sound and makes for a lovely smooth technique!

  • Oh my, you are recording my favorites, thank you, this one really makes me think.

  • The fruits of hard work and long practice — well worth it. Now off to my piano :)

  • I would be interested to know how and where you record your stuff - is this your own grand in your house, your own camera, do you edit it yourself? Or are those professional CD recordings that you just put on youtube? The production value of your videos is top notch and it really adds a lot, amazing atmosphere.

  • @Verdegrand What you see hear is a post-session after making a CD of Chopin Etudes. Hannover Beethovensall ( Kempf used to record there ), piano Hamburg Steinway - not a stock piano but a unique instrument owned and maintained by Gerd Finkenstein , sound is unmixed yet ( will be 1000% better once mixed if it will ever go on CD or DVD ) recorded by Wolf-Diteer Karwatky.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Will the etudes and these waltzes be available on Blu ray at some point?

  • @ValentinaLisitsa hello, i am really sorry for the very late reply, i must have missed it when you posted it, i apologize. thanks for replying and for explaining, i was already wondering what location this is. this place fits your playing unbelievably well, it is very atmospheric and the editing is top notch and adds a lot to that as well. it's really great you put these recordings up, thanks for that. greetings

  • @Verdegrand interesting question we are all curious about this :)

  • This is my favorite piece by Chopin, and you play it so well. I currently am learning this song, and so I will study your technique!

  • wonderful! but why does it have so little views?

  • @mortalfrog0815 Because it was opened 2 minuts before you saw it :)

    VL

  • @ValentinaLisitsa but it's listed as "added 3 days ago"... i was just wondering!

  • @mortalfrog0815 It does not meaan that it was public.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa LOL epic answer!!! great job btw! =D

  • @ValentinaLisitsa I like the fact that you are very down to earth and actually talk to your fans Valentina... :) but is it you who actually responds to comments or is it someone else?

  • @develish16 Oh of course it is someone else - let me guess , hmmmm ??? An agent ,a PR person, a ghost ???

    LOL

  • @ValentinaLisitsa hehe...I like :) u know what I mean since most celebs would actually have some PR person do that instead of doing it themselves.

I just want to ask u if u ever recorded Chopin's Grande Valse Brilliante in E Flat Major, Op. 18. It would be lovely if u upload that. Thanks :D

  • @develish16 I just saw it on the right .... and its amazing as usual :D

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Valentina, have you ever thought of recording some of the waltez in particular the op 34no2 on a Bosendorfer?
