thnx for posting i see comments that people want alcatraz back well imagene that u are in a tiny tiny cell for crime if u may call it crime for 24 or 12 hours no real place to piss just a whole in the flor no food atleast for me no water just that with a some kind off like don`t know how to call it but it certanley is not bed just imagene 24 or just 12 and imagene thoese people out theare soon i`m going to jail for drugs and hooliganism and have some sypathy for that poor people

It's amazing to think that the same man talking to you and reminding you if an uncle or grand father maybe could mostlikey kill you and your whole family then sit down and eat diner over your bodies and maybe this man is reformed maybe alkatraze reformes people after 30 years of nothing who is to say

@SincereTheLady Alvin Karpis was one of the "public enemies" of the 1930s. He was in the Karpis-Barker gang, one of the most notorious gangs back then. I think Karpis was like the only one out of those gangsters who lived? He was captured and sent to Alcatraz.

al capone was the 85th person to go to alcatraz and his cell # was b-181 it's on the second floor but u cant see it cuz its not safe to go on the second floor for its old and the floor might break and injuries could happen

@twilightlovaomada , the 2nd floor is safe. it's a crowd control issue. Ask an employee to take you there and they generally will.

I was just in Cali & I visited Alcatraz. It was a prison from 1934-1963. It's a very interesting place to visit. I'm planning to re visit it someday when I got back to Cali. Thanks for posting the video. Gives some kewl info into the prison.

You are refering to Robert Shaw. And that is NOT who it is. His name is Howard Duff, and he has been dead since 1995.

The credits say it was 1971. And I would say that is accurate based on the shots of Alcatraz from the air. There are Tee-Pees visable, the Apartments on the south west side of the island are sitll there and in good shape, and the footage of the smoke from the fire set by the Indian's back when they occupied the idland.
