My '78 Super Glide FX was at times a bear to start. Never a major problem nor any oil leaks ever, a real nervous thumper at idle, Python pipes that grumbled and rumbled, a smooth ride for only 4 speeds. A great bike, as it turned out (despite the AMF ownership).
It only started because you sweared-- no shovel will start with-out swearing or some kind of abuse first!-- just like a cattle dog won"t round up cattle unless you kick it first-- it can, it"s just that it won"t!
You're not a real man unless you kick start your bike... and even then you're not a real man till you crank start your car as well. Now if you're really badass you can push both down the road and jump start them... at the same time.
It actually seemed realistic to have to have a few tries, instead of, "ooh look I touched it with a feather and it started" As a girl who has yet to kick start her old bike; this video is real
GIRL POWER......................sucks, lol
YAMAHAS & ChromeDIVAS!
Thank you for the video and that bike is sweet as heck.
Thats the way to do it. Here on youtube, I see all this sissies not straddlig the bike like you do, and instead standing on the side jumping up and down like girls do to start the bike.
@zer0dahero You know when somebody doesn't have a clue what he's talking about? They make comments but it is obvious to people who know that they are posers? Know what I mean? You have never had a Harley and it shows, kid.
It may look funny but there is a reason people start them like they do. Pick one of those guys and call him a sissy. hmmm? no? didn't think so.
@zer0dahero you have obviously never kick-started (or owned) a Harley! I've owned 6 different kickers and none of them started the same. I have the limp to prove it!!
@zer0dahero two things that drive me nuts on these bike vids . 1. idiots that knock anothers bike just because its not what they ride (if they do ride) and 2. idiots that dont have a clue about kick starting Harleys and post moronic statements about firing on the first kick or standing on the side when you kick one over.
when you get a shovel or a pan (which you never have owned or rode) then come back with a new post. until then go ask mommy for a cup of shut the fuck up
@spartanrmd1 Classic post! If someone hasn't kicked a misbehaving HD until they lay on the ground and pant, then they have no right to post. My only critique of this vid is that it's best to keep the left leg planted firmly while kicking through. That way if it kicks back or the kick lever doesn't fully engage, you don't end up with a bad leg, sore crotch, on your face on the ground, or all three. : )
no...i have a moped it has a 50cc engine and the handbook u get at the courthouse says if it is over 50cc its considered a motorcycle 50cc or less is a moped so ur wrong
An Rs50's classification is "Motorcycle". Engine size is nothing to do with it either. An RS50 is a very small engine sized sports bike. It's in it's classifications. If would also be taxed as a motorcycle and not a scooter, a scooter is the propper term for a moped. There for making the RS50 a bike.
@eddiefan36 The key word is "considered". That means that anything of that size is considered in the same class by legal definition. It does Not mean that is literally what it is. By definition, a moped is any motor (engine) powered cycle that can also be powered with pedals. It is very possible to have a 1500cc moped. BTW, go to another jurisdiction and see what their definition of moped is. Everywhere is different.
nice bike if you can aford to keep it on the road my buddys is mostly in the shop my honda sees the shop just for a tune up,tiers etc but im interested in getting a sporster but somthing newer
@ardvarkkkkk Nope look at the trans sporty's trans are integral with the engine .I would say good job starting my old FLH took a lot more kicks than that after it was rebuilt with about 5000 on it .Thank God for electric start and yes I am lazy .But every so often it needed a little foot love LOL
Jumpin ass first into the air....ya, that looks real bad-ass.

got to be a twin. with a kick start .before you can call it a motorcycle

nah. there's plenty of big ol' singles, triples and even 4 cylinders which are excellent motorbikes. doesn't have to be a twin to qualify.

officially, a moped is a bike with a capacity of 50cc that is restricted to 30mph.
So he has either a small capacity bike or a scooter ;)

I have a 73 HD kickstart.
It may not make you more of a man, but with all the spoiled newbies running around, it makes it a lot less likely to be stolen!
Also, my 73 shifts with the right foot and brakes with the left. So anyone that did steal it would likely kill himself before he got too far!
