  • Cities thousands of years old in the Bible are still there, but between 700AD and the settlement of the new world all traces of this massive society and civilization were wiped off the face of the earth. That was only 800 years between the two events. You can't find what isn't there. For example NASA just discovered using infrared technology that can look underground from space - THOUSANDS of burial plots & pyramids. Nasa won't be finding anything in the New World during your lifetime. Wake up!

  • @kevinjppark really? there is a pyramid here bigger than the one at giza....there are A THOUSAND newly discovered pyramids here....you still asleep???

  • @TrueSaintsLDS

Who do you think this is referring to? Mormonism is obviously of man !

  • BackyardProfessor, Great video with some interesting scenery. Goodarchaeology study topic.

  • who is mormon?

  • all you are is angry at the critics; therefore, you are unable to win over a single soul... except for a few nuts.

  • SHOW ME A SOLDIERS SHOE LACE, I DONT NEED METAL... JUST A BOOT LACE FROM ONE OF THE SOLDIERS AND I BECOME A NEW MORMAN MEMBER. I'LL EVEN TAKE A SINGE ELEPHANT TOOTH!

  • @seechig

Bullshit. You wouldn't do any such thing, and if you did ***I*** would be the first to slap you for such silliness. Go away and do something productive with your life already.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor

Go f yourself byp joseph smith wannabe. LOL, your so excited about that world your gonna rule that you have lost touch with the truth. I'll slap you so far into next week, you'll be waiking up next month... on the moon... the only world your gonna rule over. the next time I see a missionary, I'll slap them and pretend they are you... I'm gonna tell the bishop about your HATE too!!

  • @seechig

    Don't threaten me.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor lol, you crazy.

  • @seechig

a single elephat tooth? what about a tusk and skeleton remains and a tooth?

google Mammoth Bones in Monterey County

  • @Sk8er408 are you aware that mammoth was from the ice age?

  • @tamasandy

So you believe people have been on this earth for tens of thousands of years? I myself... do not put a lot of faith in carbon dating. I dont think they have done any testing except a guess... Still... it proves that elephants were on this continent. Have you seen the carvings of elephants in south America? They must have dug up a frozen one... right?

  • @Sk8er408 they haven't done any testing? just guessing? faith is merely a guess. your statement can be used against any religion including your own.

it proves the ancestors of elephants were on this continent... and went extinct.

also, elephants aren't the only historical issue between the bom and the american continent... i'm sure you know that.

  • @tamasandy

So what historical issues are there?

  • @Sk8er408 haha... are you saying that you think there are no issues in book of mormon or lds history? come on... i know you'e a member and it's easy to use your faith to fend off or refute anything that doesn't correlate with your "truth". but, you can't at least see where non members would find issues with, not only the book, but joseph smith, brigham young, "doctrine", etc....?

  • @tamasandy

I'm not LDS. I think you hold a double standard when it comes to your faith verses others. This is typical for almost all people.

Lets hear it already... what are your issues? Or do you bark tuck your tail and run cause all your teeth fell out?

  • @Sk8er408 i partially agree on the double standard as far as it concerns my opinion. but, my life is not guided by blind faith and i do not belong to any religion. interesting that you defend a religion you do not belong to though.

    here are a few issues...

bom and america: steel and metal

lds history: polygamy and the fact that joseph smith married many teenagers and one of them as young as 14 years old while he was in his late 30's.

  • @tamasandy

So swallow your pride already and give up the prideful persecution in the footsteps of the pharisees.

Blind faith... as in you faith is in a book and not a God that there is no proof of? Got it.

I defend Catholics and Christians as a whole... what of it?

What about steel and metal? We know they had metal... There is only mention of Steel swords twice... One of which was labans sword that came from Jerusalem.

There are countless metal artifacts that are pre-Colombia

  • @tamasandy

    What is wrong with Polygamy?

There is no facts that JS married anyone other then Emma. The extent of facts is he was sealed to others... In the 1800's you were old when you were a teenager... different time different culture. You can not judge someone on a different standard as theirs.

  • @Sk8er408 nothing wrong with polygamy. but, the problem is when religion & polygamy interact. that's when you have a self proclaimed prophet marrying little girls and other mens wives because "God said so". do you also defend the flds christians and their pedophilia, incest, etc?

no facts, but statements given by his wives and other members. sealings are marriages in lds theology. the church doesn't refute these claims. but, lds apologists have given countless excuses for why it's acceptable.

  • @tamasandy

Joseph had one wife... Let the FLDS do what they want... and if they brake the law... put them in jail. You are no ones judge.

Lots of the sealings happen after his death.... So Can a man be a pedophile for being sealed to a 14 yo girl when he is in the grave?

  • @Sk8er408 and you are not my judge.... get it? i'll state my opinion if i want.

no, a dead man sealed to a 14 year old is not a pedophile. unfortunately your assumption of what happened is wrong.

smith (alive and well) went to heber kimball and said God had revealed to him that his daughter, hellen (14) is to be one of his wives. heber explained to his daughter it would be beneficial to the family in the afterlife. her indoctrinated young mind led her to accept the terms.

  • @tamasandy

Sorry... it was Heber that wanted JS to marry his daughter... They were sealed after his death...

  • @Sk8er408 nope... i've read numerous accounts of this story. smith had over 30 wives while alive. smith's reasoning for marrying them was "God told me to" and like i just told you, "heber explained to his daughter it would be beneficial to the family in the afterlfe." so, obviously he wanted it to happen. smith (37) and hellen (14) maried in may of 1843. he died in 1844.

do you have a reference? i'd love to read it. if not, then you're lying and just made that up.

  • @tamasandy

Heber's own words prove you wrong as it was his wish not JS. Any one can claim they were married to anyone. But the only proof we have is after his death... go figure that one huh?

  • @Sk8er408 still no reference, huh?

  • @tamasandy

You would not believe if Heber himself dug himself out of the grave and served you some humble pie about his dealings with JS.

  • @Sk8er408 like i said, i'd love to read a reference. that's more than you can say. atleast you'd have something to show for your opinion. until then, you're a liar.

what's that you said before? oh yeah... "Or do you bark tuck your tail and run cause all your teeth fell out?"

  • @tamasandy

    You want a reference...

“The prophet’s marriage to her seems to have been largely dynastic"

"My father asked me if I would be sealed to Joseph"

“My father was the first to introduce it to me"

A Trajectory of Plurality: An Overview of Joseph Smith's Thirty-three Plural Wives

your turn... or is is tail time?

  • @Sk8er408 your source shows the marriage was in 1843 when smith was still alive (as i have previously stated). he was alive, and it's obvious that he would be at his own temple sealing.

also, your quotes are far from proof for your claim.i never disagreed that heber wanted it done. of course he did. he was brainwshed and thought it was the right thing to do (common in all religions). but, smith brought it to his attention and hellen may not have done it if not for her father's influence.

  • @Sk8er408 hmmm... looks like someone's teeth fell out.

  • @tamasandy

Did someone kick you in the mouth?

  • @Sk8er408 haha. your stupid comeback is amusing and makes me feel like charlie sheen.... WINNER!

  • @tamasandy

the only incoherent response was your teeth fell out... You wanted a ref and i gave it to you and you tucked tail... I think you have your one conversation going on it that little head of yours.

  • @Sk8er408 when did i tuck tail...? when you gave me a reference that agreed with my claims? you're having a hard time keeping up with the conversation that you're actually having. do i need to tell you twice?

"your source shows the marriage was in 1843 when smith was still alive (as i have previously stated). he was alive, and it's obvious that he would be at his own temple sealing."

also, your argument that it was all heber's idea still shows that he was an indoctrinated fool anyway.

  • @Sk8er408 i'm sorry... you lose. but thanks for playing. but don't you worry. the consolation prize is a life of faith that may one day lead you to flying an airplane in to a building, prophesying the end of the world, discriminating against race or women, etc. but don't worry you won't have the stress of a leader. you'll just be another sheep following blindly. good for you.

  • @tamasandy

You are the one following the teachings of men... not me.

  • @Sk8er408 awww... another stupid comeback. i feel bad for you.

not even a new reference that doesn't make me right?

so, nothing wrong with faithful suicide, false prophecy, discrimination, etc? gotcha.

and i follow the evidence that man has acquired? sure thing.

you follow the ramblings of self proclaimed prophets and men who claim to be speaking for God... not me.

hmmm... another sad day for sk8er408.

    give up. you've lost.

  • @tamasandy

your false claims toward me are a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.

But at least they puff up your pride... right?

  • @Sk8er408 what false claims? that you believe what men have told you of God...? fact! "don't believe everything you read." you're the one defending mormonism (false claims), aren't you?

what happened to "smith was dead when they married"?

ahhh yes, the pride accusation again. we've been over this, but it's no surprise to me that you're having a hard time keeping track. this seems to be common with you. yeah, i'm prideful. so what?! i can accept that. you are too... and you can't accept that.

  • @tamasandy

That for some reason LDS are less then the next christian sect.

I do believe that her husband stood in for JS when they were married. That is the only record there is.

  • @Sk8er408 lds aren't less than any other christian sect... or any other non-christian one for that matter. they're all wrong simply because not a single one of them is completely right.

didn't you just believe smith was dead when they married? now smith had a stand in? this keeps getting better.

  • @tamasandy

That is what it means... he had a stand in as he was dead... or do you not understand what the temples are for?

  • @Sk8er408 so, what of your reference now? does it hold no merit? not only does it explain smith being alive during his marriage to helen, but it refutes your claim that it was all heber's idea.

oh yeah, don't "believe everything you read" ...aka the ref YOU provided.

"Joseph and Heber... desired the marriage so that Heber's family

would be linked eternally to Joseph, thus assuring their salvation" (from your ref)

do you regret giving that reference? you got a new one?

    you're really bad at this.

  • @tamasandy

There are quotes for the girl herself that states her dad wanted her to marry him.. So you get one that sounds like it upholds your stance and ignore the rest... You are not that smart of a guy aren't ya?

  • @Sk8er408 "The prophet's marriage seems to have been largely dynastic.", "My father wanted me to be sealed to joseph." & "My father was the first to introduce it to me." ...these prove smith didn't want it? or that he was dead when the marriage was a year before he died? they don't! i don't ignore these quotes. they just don't prove anything you say. and you're too dumb to realize that. the quote i used doesn't sound like it upholds my stance... it just does. it says it clear and precisely.

  • @Sk8er408 "...marriage seems to have been..." ...do you know what "seems to have been" means? it means it's not a fact! idiot!

and again, here you are using part of a reference to support your claim and disregarding other parts of the same reference that don't correlate with your mindless ideas.

man, your insults suck. "not that smart"? ha! you're the one using bad references and bad quotes to prove yourself. you've lost every time you reply. "But at least they puff up your pride... right?"

  • @tamasandy

You are not that smart... a dullard. You have not looked at the fact to make a decision... you have already made it and look at things to back up your opinion. You are simpleminded. That is the utmost insult if you understand the meaning... but as a simpleminded person it is beyond your grasp of understanding.

  • @Sk8er408 ha! well, if at first you don't succeed...

"not looked at the fact"? what fact? you've given no proof of facts. all you have is a bad argument and pathetic insults, christian! my decision is based on the evidence you gave. your decision is based on the same evidence with a terrible interpretation (i already explained). let's not forget you don't even believe in lds. this just makes you stupid. i've already proved you wrong time after time. i'm just glad it's here for everyone to see.

  • @tamasandy

what proof or facts have you given? the claims of others? That is not fact but story. It is up to us to discern what we believe from the things given us. Some will only take in that which they agree with and are not pure in heart... others will take it all in and make a full understanding while others perpetuate their hate and opinion.

  • @Sk8er408 i've never claimed to have facts. you have. from all the sources i've read (including yours) and all the evidence there is on the subject of smith, poygamy, and helen, this is where i've drawn my own personal conclusion. so i agree with you for once. these are stories... but, we must use logic and not faith or "pure hearts" to explain the history. a biased opinion and defending any christian sect just because they're a christian sect is no better than someone perpetuating their hate.

  • @tamasandy

You are persecuting them because they are a christian sect and is shown to have fallibility in it...

I'm not sure what you point is... No one has ever claimed to be perfect or infallible in the LDS church.

  • @Sk8er408 my point is that your assessment of the history isn't a good one and your biased defense of it is wrong. i've never said lds members claim to be perfect. but, they do claim to be the only true church on the face of the earth. but, much of there history would show that they are far from that. so, to say they're wrong is persecution? i can live with that. i don't take this stance because they're christian either. no religion, christian or non-christian, has the complete truth.

  • @tamasandy

So you just said the same thing i did...

  • @Sk8er408 no i didn't. your level of comprehension is very low. that's why you misunderstand my comments and your own refs.

the only similarity is that all we have is stories to base our conclusion on. neither of our claims are fact or false. but, yours show no use of critical thinking.

i disagree with the lds doctrine and theology. i could be wrong. but with it being possible, the evidence shows it's not probable.

you only defend them because they believe in christ. that's just closeminded.

  • @tamasandy "my point is that your assessment of the history isn't a good one"

That is basically what i said...

I defend them because everyone is entitled to their personal belief without being persecuted for it. That is not something I get from faith or Christ it is just who I am. I'm not prolife because I believe in Christ... It is my personal feelings on the subject. I do not have morals because I'm a religious man. I'm religious because of my morals.

  • @Sk8er408 no. the conclusion i've come to is in line with the evidence given. yours is empty and is biased because you're just defending them with, they're "entitled to their personal belief". i agree. they are entitled to that, but that doesn't make them right. this is where you're lost. scientology and islam are also entitled to their opinion, aren't they? but are obviously false religions when you look at their origins, etc. if it's wrong then it's wrong and needs no defense.

  • @Sk8er408 also, you don't realize that you can be moral and have your personal feelings without any religion. so, that's just nonsense to say your religion has nothing to do with your outlook on life. of course it does. if it didn't, you wouldn't need it. the only reason to join a religion is because you believe in it fully. if you don't, then you're wasting your time. there's no such thing as half catholic. you either believe it all or it's simply an opinion based religion.

  • @tamasandy "also, you don't realize that you can be moral and have your personal feelings without any religion."

You are a genius. You understand that is what i just said right?

  • @Sk8er408 if you're saying your religious beliefs have nothing to do with your opinions, you're either lying or you don't realize how stupid that claim is. like your reference, you're pulling out a sentence to prove your right and are failing miserably because you can't take on a whole argument. if you truly believe morals and religion do not have to go together, then you just agree with me in the fact that religion is morally useless along with faith in it and its fairy tales.

  • @tamasandy

Everyone's religious beliefs has to do with their opinion. I think you have a hard time with reading comprehension.

  • @Sk8er408 haha! you believe in a religion based on opinion? that negates the purpose of religion. you're openly admitting to blind faith. what happened to Gods confirmation of the "truth" through prayer and all that bullshit? just opinion now?! your church and the rest of the creationists would claim God has shown them or jesus saved them, etc. but, you choose to believe in tall tales because of pure opinion... aka bad logic. this is hilarious. please keep replying. i love a good laugh.

  • @tamasandy

HAHA you believe in a religion based on what you think are facts? You are a confused deceived lil man...

All we have is our opinion. Our God gave us it. And we are free to use it. You mock those that have faith... but all you are doing is showing you have no faith. I'm not sure what proof would be enough for you as you have already made up you mind... Oh look... you yourself have blind faith.

  • @Sk8er408 nope. i don't believe in a religion and also no faith. because it's pointless to have faith. you too have made up your mind, but from fairy tales and the ramblings of men who think they know what Gods intentions are. that's true blind faith. i use critical thinking. you don't.

  • @tamasandy

Sorry... I dont put my faith in men or books.... you got me wrong.

  • @Sk8er408 bible = book... written by men.

  • @tamasandy

Is it that hard for you to read and understand? I don not put my faith in men or books...

  • @Sk8er408 don't believe in the bible now?

  • @tamasandy

Putting my faith in the bible is not the same as believing in it. The two are not linked. I put my faith in God. I do not put my faith in a work of men that is ink and paper. I believe the bible contains eternal truths.

  • @Sk8er408 that just sounds dumb. "The two are not linked." wrong again. it's the same exact thing. being christian means faith in God, jesus, bible, etc. they go hand and hand. no bible, no christianity. don't try and redefine the word faith. at the end of the day, it still means believing in something.

  • @tamasandy

Who said i was a Christian? And who are you to dictate what one has to believe and not? Christian only means you have faith in Christ. It has nothing to do with faith in a book. That is your simple minded understanding of it.

I dont have faith in the words of men written on paper. I have faith in God.

  • @Sk8er408 "Christian only means you have faith in Christ." no shit! you're obviously a christian. i'm not dictating what anyone has to believe. it's simple. if you believe in the bible you believe in christ. if you believe in christ you believe in the bible. you're trying to make it more than it is. faith is believing. if you don't have faith in the words of men written on paper, then you don't believe in the bible. it's not as complicated as you're trying to twist it.

  • @tamasandy

    Why am i a Christian?

You can believe the bible to be a historical document without believing in Christ.

You are trying to make it more than it is.

I dont have faith in the Bible... I have faith in God.

I do believe the bible is inspired by God.

  • @Sk8er408 the bible is either God's word or it is not. turns out, it's just the opinions of self proclaimed prophets.

you're saying it's inspired by God but not necessarily his word? that's a contradiction as well. if it's inspired by God, it is then the word of God. if it is the word of God, then Jesus is the Christ. therefore, if you believe in the bible you're a christian.

if only as a historical document, then you're still putting faith in the words written by these men in their book.

  • @tamasandy

I did not say not necessarily his word... it is not his word. His word comes directly form him to use. the bible is a reflection of the word given to the prophets.

I only put faith in God... not men or books. Period.

  • @Sk8er408 if it's a reflection of Gods word given to prophets, then it's still God's word. how is that so hard for you to understand? you're lying to yourself.

  • @tamasandy

Gods word is more then just ink and paper son.

  • @Sk8er408 of course it is. that's why i don't believe in your "history book".

  • @tamasandy

That history book is confirmed by other history books... so you can believe it or not... but you are just lying to yourself.

  • @Sk8er408 the purpose of the bible was not to give history lessons. it's meant to be God's word and teach of his son jesus christ the messiah. is the book of mormon also a source of history?

  • @tamasandy

    Sure about that?

Sure... can you prove that it is not?

  • @Sk8er408 yeah, i'm sure about that. every religious book was meant for its religion. i know, big surprise.

can i prove it's not? it proves itself wrong.

  • @tamasandy

    If you say so.

  • @Sk8er408 i do say so. because by your logic, santa clause exists because you can't really prove he doesn't.

so, if you say so, you're not necessarily wrong... you just sound stupid.

  • @tamasandy

I'm sure you believe in the tooth fairy too... And you say I sound stoopid?

You are the one caliming that a book is god's word and trying to make it my belief. YOu got issues beyond your believe in fairytales.

  • @Sk8er408 tooth fairy? what? you seem lost... again.

you asked, "can you prove that it (the book of mormon) is not (a source of history)?" ...implying that if not proven false, then it is not false. hence, by your stupid logic, santa exists because you can't prove otherwise.

i didn't claim it was God's word. the people who wrote it and believe in it think it is. that's what it was meant for. you claiming otherwise is stupid. also, spelling the word "stupid" as "stoopid" makes you... stupid.

  • @tamasandy

That would be your logic, not mine. There is plenty in the BoM that shows it has truth in it.

There you go again claiming that the bible is only the word of God... do you deny that it is historical too?

YOu thinking that it can not be other wise is stoopid. Stop tiring to dictate belief monsignor.

And yes... it makes me just "slightly stoopid"

  • @Sk8er408 still lost, huh?

how is it my logic? you're the one saying that bullshit. i've already proven it's your logic and it's stupid.

plenty in the BoM? care to give some examples. there's still plenty more non-truths either way you look at it.

the bible is obviously not the word of God. men wrote it.

bible as historical? fractions of it. but, still not complete facts. just what men wrote.

    "tiring to dictate"? ...stupid.

was joseph smith a prophet of God? nope. lds is just a false religion.

  • @tamasandy

When did i say the bible was the word of God? That has only been you.

BoM example. Elephants in America. Whole civilizations that disappeared without a trace or reason. You can not hold the same standard to it that we do to the Bible as the native Americans do not have a written history that has survieved like that of the Jews....

I've never claimed the bible to be the word of God... And i know that men wrote it as one wrote the BoM.

Yes you are trying to dictate dictate.

  • @Sk8er408 i never said i believed the bible was the word of God. nice try. it obviously is a load of bullshit. same goes for the bom. and not only one man wrote the bom, by the way. even if you knew the translation process of the bom you still might be stupid enough to defend it.

"yes you are trying to dictate dictate." ...you are stupid stupid.

  • @Sk8er408 you're just as prideful as anyone else. practice what you preach.

nope, no faith. my personal conclusions come by the evidence presented.

no steel in jerusalem in 600 bc.

do you think joseph smith was a prophet of God and that the lds church is true? if the answer is yes. join them. if not, then we're both wasting our time.

not everyone who believes in christ is a good person. by fundamental christian beliefs, Ghandi is in hell right now.

we can end this and agree to disagree.

  • @tamasandy

I'm not persecuting you because i think my view is better... that is your pride... not mine.

the steel age started about 1200bc...fail.

So you think ghandi is in hell.. again you show you know nothing of the gospel as you condemn others.

  • @Sk8er408 so you're persecuting me because of my pride? nice try. persecution only comes from pride. you and i are both prideful. i can accept that. i'm sorry you can't. also, my view is not better. it's just my view. you're just defending a false faith against my opinion.

still, no steel in jerusalem at that time.

read again... i said ghandi is in hell by christian condemation... not my beliefs. he's obviously not in hell because it doesn't exist.

  • @seechig so when you getting baptized? hello??? anybody there???

  • @keriscorp say what?

  • @seechig as in h t t p colon // philosophiesofmen.blogspot.com/2011/03/elephants-in-america.html

now.....how hard is that? youtubes self wont ALLOW a normal link to post....that would save the collective world billions of hours.....in which we could be teaching our children and planting food...etc...

  • What is this, the Blair Mormon Project?

  • @TheBackyardProfessor I am jack mormon, I see you like to mix historical facts with the BofM. There are just a few I myself still can't figure out though. Like Laminates being Native Americans when DNA testing has shown traces of Asian and none from Israel. Abraham scrolls, being translated finally. And it being about mummies, nothing about the Pearl of Great Price. And now them finding the scrolls are well past jesus's time. There's more but It's hard to mix science and faith together for me

  • @clegg81 let me help.....FIRST of all...DNA....lehi WAS NOT A JEW.....there were 12 tribes of israel separated usually from marriage, as a rule.....lehi was tribe of joseph...

SECOND...the dna "evidnce" is mitochondrial dna, as in from the mother....so....who ever said lehis wife was a jew??? HE certainly wasnt.....you would be better off trying to match native american dna ANYWHERE on the planet, and then getting the tribal stories from the elders as to where they came from...

  • @kramd1

So stop wasting your time watching me, DUH! It's really a no brainer. You no like? Donta watcha this .....

  • Mormon Testiphony:

    Colossians 2:16-23

  • @thesignsoflife7

"Testiphony"? You have got to be kidding. You have seriously just GOT to be kidding me......this is all you can come up with? Don't tell me let me guess, you're not a day over 13 years old are you. Honestly. Your IQ isn't any higher than your shoe size is it..........And I promise you, I ***AM**** being charitable here, compared to the truth I *should* say.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor your hate towards others speaks loudly about who you are and your possible destiny if you choose not to change. enough said.

  • @TheBackyardProfessor Haha your fulfilling just what Jesus spoke:

"For I will give you a word and a wisdom that none of your adversaries may gain say or resist."

You cant handle the truth thats in Colossians 2:16....challenge what you believe by exploring the God of Christianity..and encounter the REAL grace, mercy, and love that is Jesus. Being Holy, and worthy of all praise...enter into the presence of the TRUE Spirit of God...which is like a fire shut up in your bones.

  • @CDspartan2 I think you are fullfilling was Jesus spoke: Judge not, that ye be not judged. Matthew 7:1 I respect your beliefs, please respect mine, I am not going to people telling them that your believes fulfilled a NT scripture: Colossians 2:8

  • @seethebright

LOLOL! Yeah that was the good ole amateur days wasn't it? I have updated, and will be producing very MUCH BETTER vifds...... I shall have to get back up to swan valley and do it justice next time. Keep yer eyes peeled.

  • @seethebright

Far more intelligent than that Crypto-Jew Ray Comfort, and surely better read than Comfort.

I prefer to think of BYP as the Mormon version of Kent Hovind but without the audience, money, greed or dinosaur fetish; well read but wrong.

On s very serious note, I really do learn a lot about near eastern mythology from BYP and if you watched his videos you'd be a better atheist (ie; more knowledgeable) by gaining knowledge about theist beliefs. I know that's how I feel about it.

  • @Hermetiqa

Oh just great.......I am improving an atheists non-testimony.....GRIN!

  • @Hermetiqa When was Kent Hovind ever well read?!?

  • Yes. Hovind is incredibly smart, and well educated. His only problem is that he's blatantly evil and a habitual liar when discussing his religious views.

  • no its not its all made up

  • If the BOM was true, scientists in numerous fields would have to be wrong. DNA would be unreliable, archaeology & linguistics & history would be wrong, Past LDS statements would be wrong, etc.

To explain the BOM, the speaker always has caveats, outlandish exceptions, weird interpretaions, etc. If ANY evidence existed (besides that appearing on Youtube posts) the LDS would follow past behavior - announce a glorious find before having to humiliatingly admit it's, you know, another fraud.

  • Therefore, my brothers, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, 20the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain (that is, through his flesh), 21and since we have a great high priest over the household of God, 22let us continue to come near with sincere hearts in the full assurance that faith provides, because our hearts have been sprinkled clean from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with pure water

  • You know, its funny how when ever there is history and potiential archaelogial findings in a certain area. MOST of the time people dig it up and find it.

Now Hill Cumorah - that place would be an awesome place to dig up - imagine how much archaeology there would be!!!!!!!!!..imagine how many people would turn to mormonism..imagine the credibility LDS would have..IMAGINE!!!!!!!

..hmmmmm maybe LDS have something to hide??..who knows??

  • Recent discoveries of NON LDS scholars with the help of NEPHIPROJECT . com have really Rocked the foundation of the Christian world. Their only defense is "NU UH."

I'm so thankful for my knowledge that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is scripture, another testament that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the LIVING GOD!

Members are still REQUIRED to pray about the BoM. see Moroni 10:3-5 God answers every humble prayer!

    jefflindsay . com

    fairlds . org

    God bless

  • Once again, you're calling God a LIAR. The Lord promised that the Book of Mormon can ONLY be identified ultimately IF true thru prayer and by NO other means.

Evidence is cute and we do have some down in Guatemala / Belize in their museums. But bottom line the evidence doesn't give conviction. Prayer does. Therefore your statement isn't really relevant.

However the PhD's @ FAIR and their rigorous work standard are unmatched, There study and work is verifyable too.

  • Are you seriously saying this?

You are aware that both proposed Veracruz and New York sites for the final battle in the Book of Mormon are both barren of evidence. This despite the fact one was the site of the greatest battle of the ancient American world (where millions of armored soldiers died).

Instead, you are trying to tell us to trust the "burning in the bosom" and ignore something that should be easy to verify. I'm glad the apostles had higher standards.

  • I have never said trust only a "burning in the bosom." Why do you bring up this ad hominim?

  • I was responding to another post, not directly to the video.

That said, the "we don't know jack about Meso America" defense is a weak position to take.

It seems clear that in Solomon Spalding's work, he envisioned Western-style swords, spears, and bows.

That said, some documentation of Hebrew writing, steel anything, horses, cows, or other things brought by the Spanish would be great.

  • I have never said "we don't know jack about Meso-America" either. Another ad hominim. Man is your comprehension of what I say that difficult to get? I said we are nowhere near done with learning about Mesoamerica yet, and have not yet even gotten the greater part of knowledge about it. I can find dozens of archaeologists who say the same thing.

  • I'm not arguing that there is more we can learn about the many disparate Meso-american cultures. They were a city-state people and so their beliefs varied widely.

That said, you spend all your time doing three things:

    1) Explaining why there isn't any evidence.

    2) Using common parallels (they had a king and a society with rich and poor people).

    3) Using non-sequitor parallels (the vikings didn't share their technology).

All of this is "could have been" or "might be." But still nothing solid

  • What if God is just in your head?

  • it says in the bible be aware of false prophets. and it alos says in the bible use knoledge

  • You are delusional.

"a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the self or persons or objects outside the self that is maintained despite indisputable evidence to the contrary"

  • I WANT **HUGE PROOF** NOT HUGE ARGUMENTS! Do you want the bank to argue they have your money and you just can't see it, or do you want them to give it to you when you ask for it???

  • No one has "HUGE PROOF" of much of anything. What is proof anyway? It is very subjective, obviously. I present evidences in my videos. You want PROOF? Go to God.

  • when its written in text..then you go dig up what is written in the text, that can be considered "proof"

Your right tho "Go to God" but still its good to know the bible has proof anyway. whereas the bom NOTHING!!

  • Oh sure, sure.......always desperate at trying to show the score for the Book of Mormon is 0 right? LOL! My 70 videos on the commentary on the Book of Mormon refute you, but why watch them and show your own ignorance right?

  • I watched alot of your videos Mr BackyardProfessor, and I havent YET seen anything substantial.

The closet thing you have to EVIDENCE is "If its in the text thats evidence"...which does NOT cut it.

But if I were to talk to a person about LDS, I wouldn't start with the "lack of evidence", I would start by Joseph Smith the false prophet, by comparing him to the bible.

  • I haven't seen any refutation yet on my 70 videos on the Book of Mormon commentary where I am unleashing an ENORMOUS amount of information, linguistic, archaeological, historical, etc.

  • Am I "ignorant"??..NOWAY I actually researched Mormonism with an open mind, and even prayed about it.

The more I researched EVERYTHING about LDS, the more I came to know of its false doctrines and prophets.

    ..So am I ignorant??

  • Yup. You are ignorant. Hey, if you don't want the truth, do't ask.

  • where???

  • he hides them under his shirt and hat.

  • I have well over 100 videos. It's not me hiding from the evidences..... good try but no cigar.

  • Elmo has lots of videos. that doesn't mean i can go live on sesame street.

You know what we all mean by proof. not your videos. i have yet to see you hold a piece of real moromon archeological proof in your hands. Not a book. proof. I have held 2000 year old coins from the roman empire in my hand. I know The roman empire existed, there is proof . I end up with the same "Well, where is it" feeling when i'm done watching your videos.

  • I have had actual copies of the archaeological discovered Lachish Letters texts, among other archaeological evidences for the Book of Mormon in my videos on the Commentary on the Book of Mormon. 75 so far. You obviously are not watching them. It's not my problem you choose to remain dismally ignorant of it all.

  • You always show more about hillsides and BoM than the evidence you say you show. What evidence do you ever show, other than saying that the evidence is unnecessary. Do you actually have anything to teach, or just argue about how we shouldn't think?

  • I invite you to check out the latest LDS Apologetic's Website:

    Redlands;

It might behoove you to check out this website for an answer to your questions:

"Foundation for Archaeological Imagination for Latter Day Saints"

    Better known as: FaiLDS !!

  • Well, this was pretty weak.

When critics ask questions, they want real answers.

What's ironic is that you have no choice but to go back into your books instead of into reality.

Mormons have no answers and so we have 10 minutes of, er, well, what is this?

This is in place of the videos showing actual BoM evidences, like tours of the numerous museums where artifacts from the latest archaeological digs might be kept.

    Well?

  • You want real answers? First then, what do you actually comprehend about current Book of Mormon scholarship? Who have you read? How familiar are you actually with the text itself?

  • That was 2.36 minutes of my life that I'll never get back...

  • No. I got nothing that you will ever understand, apparently. I got plenty as my videos easily show, many hundreds now. And not all of em gorgeous scenery either, but I enjoy my backyard and share it as I can. For you to draw this kind of inference is simply moronic.

  • As I go through these videos again I am eager to refresh my knowledge of the Book of Mormon.

Until then I will enjoy the introductory beauty!

  • Um, I think this is a TERRIFIC idea! Now then, time wise? Ayiyi..... perhaps in a few weeks? I shall try to get through these vids I wish to produce on the Book of Abraham facsimiles. Biblical archaeology seems like a grand subject! THANKS for suggesting this.

  • Still waiting for the word on metals after 9+minutes. Nice scenery though!

  • Yes, that's why I called this one introductory. GRIN! I can't help it, the scenery is part of the overall fun and enjoyment. But then, keep yer head up and be happy, I only have 13 others where I get to the evidence - WOO HOO!

  • I have a Q just a Q did any part of the BOM take place where you live??? if so what book in the BOM. and I think if it did it must of been one of the wars. anyway just was thinking that :) thanks :)

  • Not that I am aware of. So far as I have read (a few times - GRIN!) there were never mention of Idaho-ites.......GRIN!

  • mountains allsome :) :) more mountains plz :)
