@ARK6476 - it's not a real diary, it's more of a category, you know, organizer, tasks, to do list, calendar, birthdays, notes, blabla. but yes, I wouldn't keep that on my phone either. unless it has a way to erase it remotely in case i lost it. a service such as htc offers.
This is so futuristic but nobody is selling those when people use Windows, Android and Apple, then nobody has balls to support this. Maybe somebody finds it again in year 2030 and he's like "why the fuck we used some fucking iphones when this was possible 20 years ago" :D
Nokia please adopt this kind of OS/UI or any OS/UI of the same kind if u want to keep on top of the market, otherwise make a big big big development or renovation with ur Symbian it so so so so traditional and unfriendly to use anymore!!! For me this is better than the Meego, specially if studied deeper and developed completely.
This would have been the best UI for a smartphone. Unfortunately, they lack the financial resources so they had to junk the phone. However, they are still looking for partners to license their Intuition UI. I wish Google bought them or some other big company so I can have one of these awesome smartphone.
Other touch phone ui's looks same like in computers what are used with mouse but this is really designed to use with your hand. There's just no icons anywhere but it would be easy to ad those there
GOOD PHONE BUT THE OS IS WHAT MAKES IT BETTER . IT WOULD MOST LIKELY BE DOWNLOADABLE ONCE THIS PHONE IS OUT FOR A WHILE, SO IM GOING TO STICK WITH MY HTC EVO
I'm so fuckin' want that phone, but what did the Emblaze do?
Here's what it says;
"Emblaze, the company behind it, has announced that it's dropping any further investment toward the manufacturing of the device and will instead focus on licensing the ELSE Intuition platform and technology"
WTF!! Screw that!! Licensing my ass!
Can someone please beat the crap outta those people?
I guess we never gonna see this device for ourself, unless...
The thing is you have to scroll all the way back to the beginning to exit from a certain menu and go to the previous menu. HUGE minus point. People need to get over all this fancy UI stuff.
Looks really cool! But what phone should i choose if i WANT a stylus with it? If im an artist.. and i would like to draw on the go for example in a train or something..? Are there any phones out there with a stylus option and some nice painting/drawing software?
This is very nice. The most interesting and worthwhile interface I've seen in ages. And as far as left handed users go, I'm left handed when I write but I would have no problem with this interface. It's not like people who write left handed do everything left handed you know.
this is pretty cool. it would be good if your could tap the side splay icons and use the inner edge to scroll it without being required to use the lift finger auto select function when your finger is in the info presented. I also like how it extends/retracts the info as you slide your thumb in/out while over the menu option. I have an iphone 3gs but would consider this a good option for my next phone. the win 7 phone just doesn't appeal to me; especially the internet explorer. i prefer Firefox.
Ahahah...If you lift your finger by mistake you got do it all over again...that system is a joke....Just because it is unique does not mean it is useful.
@abcborgess And what if you *tap* your finger by mistake on any other smartphone? Exactly. Just because it's different doesn't mean it's worse either. I'm sure you'd have to get used to it but it seems they really gave it some thought.
did you all notice the service provider..... T mobile ... is it me or were they sitting quietly and all of a sudden dropping the bomb on all the other mobile Network providers. They will have the fastest nationwide network by the end of 2010
for left-handed people, they could have it flip upside down
the physical buttons would still be weird though
i think the real flaw lies in the fact that you have to continue holding down your thumb in order to access things and do gestures while holding it down
what if you're moving around? it would be hard to keep your thumb on or off the phone
also,
going through menus is hardly innovative or intuitive
it's NICE and i support linux, but unfortunately it's not something i see getting big
@TheLifeRuiner If that's the case, that ur moving around, then u can use the other menu. They have 2 menus. One for singel-handed operations and one with "Normal" view.
@Xentradi97 there's gonna be a way to switch it to left hand, but there are permanent buttons on the right, for right handers that won't move. They wont make one exclusively for left handers.
@TheGamer2OoO Yah but that's a huge waste in resource and cost to make separate version for right hander and left hander. It's just not practical and no phone company does it. Why make separate product line when they can just produce one ambidextrous model?
@Xentradi97 The solution would have been to include hard buttons on both right and left side of the phone. Also one should be able to flip the scroll wheel menu to the left, that would be a software driven update that can easily be implemented. The cost will be a little more but if you think about it, it's quite practical, i.e. a right-hander will be able to use it with their left hand while taking notes with their right hand.
A cheaper solution is being able to rotate the phone upside down to initiate for left hand use, then the UI would automatically adjust the scroll wheel menu accordingly.
@oksigeno I used to work in IT industry and came across this kind of things time to time. They put so much effort in creating a masterpiece and they marvel at it, until some random kid walk by and tell them a simple but glaring problem that they completely overlooked. Then they go "DOH!"
@mrblue2012 You are the idiot: Even for right handed people, there will always be situations where they may have to use their left hand to dial/search/etc. With any other phone that's never a problem, with this one it would be very awkward. It's a built-in limitation.
@Xentradi97 Good point. But not only if you're left handed, for example: most drivers in England use their LEFT hand to handle the phone. And in any case there are always situations where you want to handle your phone with your left hand. If you're using this phone.....good luck.
@starguard The phone is never going to be released, since it was cancelled. If the company can find someone willing to take the risk to pay licensing fees, that would be cool.
