The most important thing for a woman is to take good care of her children and help them become better persons rather than have a high profile career. In Islamic countries, women are not forced to have a career. It is their choice and if they want to follow a career, nobody stops them, but the good thing is that they are under no pressure to have a high profile career like in west. In Western cultures, women are not forced to be bartenders, bar dancers, and prositutes due to lack of education and lack of equality in hiring practices. Women can become educated and hold any job a man can hold.
Therefore in Western culture women are not "degraded" by having freedoms and choices. They are lifted up to the same level as men and given the same respect and diginity that is given to men.
