@gbkaur: I think that Gurmukhi-->English is tricky. Gurmukhi is a phoenetic language with long vowels and sounds that don't exist in English. I'm thinking that maybe the "G" is written to get people to make the right sound ?
she cries to god with her voice it reminds me how i should cry the same way to mine. very inspirational very powerful and uplifting. love peace and light :-)
dear brightstarhealing, Well said. Some of us learn the words and maybe the prounciation too but few know the meaning. Ek Ong/Onk Kaar is the first chant of the Mool Mantra. Mool Mantra means the Fundamental Truth/Chant. This is the first verse on which the entire Sikh Religion rests. The exact meaning evolves in ones mind as you continue to recite it. For me it means that the entire creation came into being when the Almighty wished so. Ek means One, Ong Kaar means the utterance of the word Om.
@gbkaur - instead of filling yourself with outrage at her pronunciation, find compassion in your heart that she is opening Sikhism to so many. Embrace her as a sister and lift your vibration from animosity to love.
I found this very peaceful and enchanting. So gbkaur - what does eK oNK kar mean? I would love to be enlightened by your wisdom.
its not ek oNG kar..it is ek oNK kar..the title is wrong and she says it wrong too which is ridiculous..she belong to this religion..she is a sikh now..she needs to learn the right prounciation..cuz it changes the meaning of the word.
I bless the LIfe that led me to Snatam Kaur...it has become a mantra of its own in celebration of both of these Angelic humans I've come to Know ~
Beautiful creation, thank you for showing the beauty visually, spiritually, musically of Snatam Kaur in this mantra...and in every way she brightens our days
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.

at 6:41, a woman's voice whispers something about "destiny". Is this part of the actual song or did xeruam add this? I had an amazing synchronicity with the timing of this message and would like to know the exact words the woman whispers. thanks!
That is part of the song. I have the album. Snatam Kaur is whispering that. You can order the album on Amazon and all the songs are translated into English on the CD booklet. The album is called Shanti. WaheGuru, Ash

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate 1
Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, 2
the All-merciful, the All-compassionate, 3
the Master of the Day of Doom. 4
Thee only we serve; to Thee alone we pray for succour. 5
Guide us in the straight path, 6
the path of those whom Thou hast blessed, not of those against whom Thou art wrathful, nor of those who are astray. 7
