The problems in Europe with massive movements of Muslims into traditional-Christian countries where it was hoped that 2nd-3rd generation emigrants would assimilate, adopting European customs and conventions. But these populations remain cloistered and do not easily adapt. Having lived in Germany for a year during the late 70s I witnessed this firsthand; even if a guest worker wanted to assimilate, the Germans were not very open to this.
America is different. We'dre almost all from "somplace else" We'll absorb these new emigrants just like we did the Irish and all the others. There is no room here to teach why the Bible is the Word of God and the word of allah, the Koran is not. Allah is NOT God! Allah means literally 'the-god,' and this is far different from God. Whilst the Islamic teachings in the Quran/Hadith support the fact that all Muslims are supposed to put the faith above the state or culture, in practice this isn't the case. Sure, they might say it, but what we're forgetting is that Islam is cultural. It varies from region to region. It's not a monolith. Not all Muslims are out to conquer. And not all Muslims are opposed to democracy either. What the teachings say and what the people do are two different things.

The problems in Europe with massive movements of Muslims into traditional-Christian countries where it was hoped that 2nd-3rd generation emigrants would assimilate, adopting European customs and conventions. But these populations remain cloistered and do not easily adapt. Having lived in Germany for a year during the late 70s I witnessed this firsthand; even if a guest worker wanted to assimilate, the Germans were not very open to this.

The UAE is not perfect, but it is quite modern compared to others .Heck, they had a UFC event in the UAE & the Octagon girls (in between rounds) were not told to cover up. LOL! My point is that these places may take time to modernize, but it's inevitable. I think we should let them modernize organically. European Imperialism and bombing them to the stone ages, has helped to foster more radical Islam. Let them modernize organically.
