Video games are a new medium for artistic expression. There are guys making games now, like Fumito Ueda, who are going to be in art history books some day.
This was Hitch's initial "monologue" as host of his anthology series. Virtually all of them, over the next 10 years, were prepared with the help of a very talented writer, James Allardice {who was one of George Gobel's key writers on his variety series at the time}. This one appeared in the first episode, "Revenge", on October 2, 1955. Hitch also earned the right to satirize his sponsor's "intrusions" during the show; Bristol-Myers, his sponsor during the first five seasons, loved it!
Hear, hear! What's the point of special effects if there's no story? All the CGI in the world doesn't matter if you don't care what's happening to the characters.
I absolutely LOVED this series! I watched it in reruns all through my growing up! My parents let my brother and me stay up late to watch the show - it came on late-night TV where we lived. Thanks for posting this.
