if anyone would like the criteria/outline that was given to the students to make our video lessons, let me know. i think the content is helpful, just please know that this is WAY too much material to cover in one 15 min lesson. :D This lesson is fake and just supposed to be a demonstration of different teaching methods.
Nope. I was required to put up this video for one of my method classes in college 2 weeks into the course. However, as an educator (who can now play french horn very well), I figured I would leave it up to remind myself 1) how far I have come and 2) for anyone who is really desperate for french horn tidbits. Someone put it on a french horn website with other really helpful videos, so I figured someone may see something in it that I didn't. haha.
@Havaldon hey! Omg! I was a trumpet player but now i play the french horn!!! Thts ironic! Lol i love the french horn personally its easy to play n it fun!!!! :) u get to sit by tbe saxs!!!! :)
Yeah, the hand in the bell gives also a deep and more elegant sound to the horn, cause if you use it out it will sound like raw and violent...like she said it gives a rounder sound...I loved this video, it was great...you girls are fun!! :D
@MultiMonkey123456 If your french horn doesn't have a trigger than you have a single horn (that's what I have). It is much harder to hit the high notes on a single horn because on the double horn, once you get to the middle A then you start to press the trigger, opening up the set of tubing on the other side, which allows you to hit the higher notes.
@MultiMonkey123456 Calm down, sweetheart. Yours is a single Bb horn. When you get older and more skilled, you will graduate to a double horn. The double horn is both F and Bb in one. Trigger allows you to transition between the two. Since yours is only Bb, you don't need a trigger because you won't be switching to F.
@MultiMonkey123456 it ok they have a trigger because they play a double horn or what called a B flat horn. I will assume that u play the regular one so its just different type of horns
