  • <3 she has the most magical voice to ever grace God's green earth.

  • and swing it, from Virginia... to Tennessee with all the love that's in ya!

Fantastic as always Judy, forever missed <3

  • great Judy!

  • Actually, they did it in a higher key than Judy normally does. (It's Andy's show, so he probably decided that :/) That's why she didn't knock the hell out of the song as usual... It was too high.

    <3<3<3 Judy!!

  • on 2:18-19 Judy could have WIPED Andy Out on that Note, because thats the Bridge of this particular song and Usually Pulls out her BRavdo in the voice Notes to finish the song..but repected Andys Lower key and after all it Is his show..but she really normally Belts the HELL out of this song. andy did ok..but it was a mistake to sing this song with Judy. she was too powerful..but she did a nice job of Holding back

  • I love this version! Fantastic. I have seen it before and may have even watched it originally since I searched for her every performace on TV. But I just noticed she changed the lyric. Only a year earlier on her TV show she was still singing the original Al Jolson "Old Black Joe" lyric. But here they changed it "sweet and low". It's easy to see the impact of civil rights and that they were being both sensitive and progressive on the show.

  • Who cares what I say but she was so fabulous. her daughters don't come close.

  • @missgreeneyes56 No one will ever come close to Judy! And it's mainly because her daughter's voices aren't natural, they had to take singing lessons. Judy's voice was natural though!! :)

  • Love this version of Rock-a-Bye. So cool

  • Judy fans I'm sure you all know but her rock a bye baby on Live at Carnegie Hall must have been something to see anyone out there that did email me @pusspleaser134@aol.com I would love to talk to you!!! R.I.P. The very Lovely Judy Garland.........Barb........

  • Dear Pandora Leave her alone she what is it that you can do to come near what she did in only 47 years she gave birth 3 times in between doing all of this and if you don't care about that then how can you even be a fan?RIP Judy Garland I know you are because more people love you than don't still 42 years later.Love you Barb...

  • When you're as great a singer as Judy, I guess you can afford to be as warm and generous as she clearly is on this tape (and Rainbow on this show)... those who were lucky enough to see her own TV series will remember how, in her guests' solos, she'd sit just off-camera, and be enraptured at every note, and how she gave people like Streisand and Bennet the courtesy of doing their songs THEIR way. All the greats like Judy can afford to be that generous; what's sad is, so few are. She was the best!

  • ALWAYS too generous with her fellow performers -- not only did Williams have to push in on HER song, the ENDING (which is this legendary lady's big climax that everyone anticipates) had to be in HIS key -- so he got to sing the MELODY while she was forced to waddle around with lower register harmony!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. I can't stand that creepy man. And you could hear that she was in great voice; the notes were exploding from her throat -- she had to pull on the reins!!!

  • @mmdillon1 You make a very perceptive comment. Judy was extremely generous to those (ahem, dare I say it) less talented singers she did duets with. Andy in my opinion is a 'lounge singer', who crooned away (on auto) without much effort . In this clip, I like that Judy is a bit more reserved here (she never played the prima-donna) and, I Iike to believe, she was at long last enjoying her star status.

  • @mmdillon1 "Creepy man???" Excuse me, Williams has one of the great voices of all time - rich, beautiful. Garland may have looked good, but she was far from being in great voice. Williams is up there to merely assist her, as she wasn't in the best of physical shape. Also, it's HIS show, moron. I have no doubt Williams would've been more than happy to let Judy sing this alone if she could've carried it. She couldn't - just look at her lousy "Get Happy", which opened the show.

  • As Frank Barone would say:

    Holy crap.

    This is damn good.

  • I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!!

  • Just beautiful and how nice to see her once again in living color. Thanks Michele.

  • Healthy, fine voice, looked great...1965 - 4 yrs to go

  • judy? of course. but andy williams? impressive.

  • could not be better...cheers!

  • She looked great and healthy as well as in fine voice. Great clip - thank you for posting!

  • lovely... :)

  • Judy looked good here . . . and sounded even better!!!
