  • Go weed

  • Cocaine and meth are schedule two. It's technically true that you can research a schedule one drug but it's much more difficult, and it makes no sense that marijuana should be a schedule one drug. It's also technically true that the American Medical Association is not in favor of legalization, but they are in favor of rescheduling (not just research while keeping it schedule one).Sabet knows that; and in fact, the other two probably know that as well they just didn't think fast enough on their feet.

  • The marijuana trade makes up 60 to 70 percent of the Cartel's income so YES there would be a serious dent put into their profits if marijuana were legalized and regulated in the U.S. There are also numerous medical organizations who support medical cannabis.

  • drew good one

  • @TinyMcLarge I think he supports dismantling the fed and thinks the government is horrible for using credit so much

  • Yes. Hundreds of NATURAL GROWN Hybrids and Strains of Marijuana Grow ALL OVER the world. The oldest stash was found to be over 3000 BC in a tomb. It'd been widely used for thousands of years in almost every major culture. #TRUTH #MARIJUANA #WEED #420

  • With people like Sabet in influential positions, it's no wonder this movement is left spinning its wheels. He speaks about processing the plant and making derivatives to prescribe, which may be okay, but I have a suspicion that there's some additional lobbying going on, perhaps from the textile industry (Big Cotton?). Continuing to ban the plant also prevents hemp from being created and turned into the 1000+ quality products other countries enjoy.

  • @sevinPackage He also kept saying more research needs to be done, as if the governments stance of not allowing much of it at all will change said over and over, that he supports mote research. What good is stating that after leaving office?

  • Repeal prohibition.

  • The term addictive is used very loosely when talking about cannabis. Anything enjoyable could be called 'addictive', some athletes would consider running addictive, so? Physically, it is not addictive. Those who have a psychological addiction have a mental disorder to start with, even if it's something simple like being lazy and therefore bored all the time. Of all the drugs (illicit and common recreational) one could be 'addicted' to, cannabis is the easiest to give up.

  • @IndicaDreaming Yes, this plus the lack of distinction between physical addiction and psychological dependency. Physical addiction is the onset of withdrawal symptoms from not using a drug your body has become accustomed to. The severity of the physical addiction should directly be related to severity and impact of these withdrawal symptoms. In the case of cannabis, it has been shown to have milder withdrawal symptoms than coffee.

  • @IndicaDreaming Psychological dependency can simply be rephrased as "enjoying something to any significant extent and frequency." Basically what you described. The blanket term "addiction" that encompasses both psych dependency and physiological addiction is qualified by the requirement of ADVERSE effects to the users life. That said, government prohibition causes merely the CHOICE to use a drug to have bad effects on ones life, regardless of the inherent effects of the drug.

  • You can't compare cannabis to opium, alcohol or nicotine. Why? Because cannabis is safe and the rest aren't! 'cultural' reasons are not good enough when you consider how important hemp was to the foundation of the U.S.A. What about that culture?

  • @IndicaDreaming "You can't compare cannabis to opium, alcohol or nicotine."

Also, most of these other drugs are usually synthetic chemicals or processed extracts derived from natural ingredients, not the natural ingredients themselves. It would be akin to comparing Cannabis to what is considered the synthetic equivalent, dronabinal aka Marinol, and, as I showed several posts back, that analogy falls flat on it's face.

  • @dawimythnotolo In the case of the legal drugs, the comparison falls flat because Cannabis is safer, as you said, and historical and statistical data has shown. Comparing cannabis and tobacco would be a fairer comparison, but that is not to say you can compare cannabis and cigarettes, because cigarettes are FAR worse than just tobacco alone, due to post processing that adds hundreds of other chemicals.

  • @dawimythnotolo It can be correctly argued that burning anything, combustion, produces carcinogens, and inhaling these can lead to cancer. This, however, can be mitigated by the choice to use a vaporizer or consume edibles. This neutralizes the only argument that cannabis is bad, since it is not cannabis that is inherently bad, but the act of inhaling the carcinogens in the smoke (albeit not a good justification for prohibitions since it applies to tobacco products as well).

  • guess what else is culturally accepted, "Ph. D." sabet? marijuana

  • Comment removed

  • these people dont understand freedom, all they know is command and control. "medicine will be determined by science, not by the people at the ballot box" says dumb mother fucker. now i got a quote for you "this is what democracy looks like"

  • Kevin Sabet is a poor excuse for a human being. And his doctorate is in Social Policy, not medicine... Unlike Dr. Lyman who actually has an MD.

  • lol the doctor sounds like kermit the frog, or maybe that's just the pot i smoked

  • The CIA is the Cocaine importing agency. They take it strait from Columbia to the District of Columbia. Kevin Sabet has that dust up his nose. He is a pathetic little puppet out serving his dealers so they give him more drugs.

  • Xyrem, the drug that was mentioned for narcolepsy, cost my insurance $4,123 EVERY Month. (that's $49,476 per year, and if I continued to take it for 20 years (which I will) that equals $1,000,000!! )

What should be no surprise to most intelligent people; some narcoleptics go without and have a difficult time maintaining the day-to-day.

Exactly what I do not want is the government to force patients that need marijuana to have to pay PHARMA out the ass like narcoleptics already do.

  • Why not call the drug war what it truly is. An attack on the citizens by Fascist pigs.

  • December 06 has been a good news day :)

  • Follow the money to big pharma and the privatized jails.

  • @dude12nothin Yes, this, plus drug testing companies, and law enforcement in general. Then follow more of it to the armed forces and bases in Colombia, Nicaragua, and Afghanistan. The fact of the matter is, they've created such an infrastructure out of this "war on drugs" that ending it would kill so many jobs and revenue, that no amount of taxing cannabis sales would work to make up the difference.

  • @dawimythnotolo You got it. Between big phrma crying they spent money already ad cant waste all that work, to judges and das actively working to fill public and PRIVATE prisons. Too much money involved. Why do you think legalization failed in cali? Wasnt just the cops. It was all the now legal in cali dispensaries fighting it. Why? Because they would lose money if everyone could grow it.Its not talked about much, but most of the medical marijuana folks are the ones that killed it

  • Frankly Dr Drew, going moral is far more important than going "mainstream" so if they are advocating for this because it's the MORALLY correct thing to do, then it shouldn't matter at all what clowns like you think... Especially considering the fact that the colleagues in your particular medical discipline ARE MAKING MONEY FROM JUDGES COURT ORDERING NON-VIOLENT DRUG USERS TO ADDICTION CLINICS! You're nothing but a member of the marketing branch of our corrupt government, Drew. You fool no one.

  • @dawimythnotolo all these talking heads disgust me.

  • So how much does Marinol cost? And can you grow it in your backyard?

  • It takes over one hour for Marinol to reach full systemic effect, compared to minutes for smoked or vaporized cannabis. Some patients accustomed to inhaling just enough cannabis to manage symptoms have complained of too-intense intoxication from Marinols predetermined dosages. Patients have said that Marinol produces a more acute psychedelic effect than cannabis. It has been speculated that this disparity can be explained by the moderating effect of the non-THC cannabinoids present in cannabis.

  • @dawimythnotolo Wow, that comes as no surprise at all actually, thanks for the knowledge!

  • guess dr drew forgot how "addictive" pain pills are and how people o.d. on that shit

  • The argument that alcohol and tobacco are OK because they have been culturally acceptable is no kind of scientific argument as to why these two dangerous and harmful drugs are not legal. The most important issue is free choice. If I can freely choose to consume alcohol or tobacco why can't I freely choose to consume cannabis (or any other substance). Obviously the argument of the harm of cannabis in particular is absolutely invalid, hypocritical and unfair. Be fair everywhere and end prohibition

  • If so many double-digit IQ retards and OWS slackers didn't smoke pot, I would support it's legalization

  • The Obama position is pretty clear: We want MJ in the hands of Big Pharma.

  • fuck the Gov!!!

    It's a personal decision.

  • lol , so the benchmark for legalizing anything is how many years it has been "accepted"

  • Dr. Drew is known for spreading misinformation about pot in the past. My guess is he gets paid by drug companies.

  • E-mail dr drew and call that piece of shit out.

  • Hey, Dr. Drew, say hello to Big Pharma for me, next time you're picking up your cheque. And tell them they can stick their marinol where the sun don't shine!

    Ron Paul in 2012!!!

  • Dr. Drew is a douche bag. He totally gave the asshole more opportunities to speak than any one else. And we all know who the asshole is I'm talking about. Fuck Dr. Drew. I don't know why I used to listen to his show in high school. He's getting kicks off other people's drug and sex problems. What a sick man he is.

  • We should smoke opium rather than take Morphine and other drugs that contain extra additives that or not exactly healthy

  • Makes sense to legalize. The Chriostofascist terrorists want to justify their crimes and treason against us, however, and want to try to justify their own jobs.

  • Big Pharma..... poisoning humanity for profit.

    --

  • I there no end to these fed's trying to keep their snout in the prohibition trough. Its all about job security the DEA is Redundant and it a rabid dog spewing its poison

  • I would rather have it legalized for the tax revenue and the amount we would save on no longer enforcing low level position or having to jail non violent offenders.... I could give two shits about smoking this stuff, if thats what you want to do.. hey its your body and your future.

  • What if Cannabis Cured Cancer (Serbian subtitle)

    /watch?v=1bMt83_IWkE

  • @megamogx It didn't, it doesn't, it can't. Injecting an excess of cannabinoids into the body is not going to cure cancer. It might make people feel better, but the cancer will still exist. The most it could do is slow it down. But it cannot kill it.

  • NO ONE WANTS TO SHOVE MARIJUANA PILLS DOWN THEIR THROATS, WE WANNA SMOKE IT WEATHER WE ARE SICK OR NOT THAT IS MY GOD GIVEN RITE, THE NATURAL WAY .. 0_o

  • he talks about using cannabniods as medicine in pills then he flip flops and says it is harmful drug what a fucking turd

  • just because it has names like purple haze does not mean it does not have medical benefits. and its medical benefits out weigh problems. cannabis is 60% of cartel profits so yes it would make a dent. And yes research is being blocked and stone walled because of the politics legalization will help get rid of it. this douche is a big pharmacy lover these synthetic cannabinoids are costly. they dont want use to grow are own medicine. your life is for sell

  • @ewigkase1 It only because of cannabis profits that they have been able to diversify it wont take long be before their a real enemy on our border

  • I wonder how many Coffee addicts Dr. Drew treats on a monthly basis. Fucking paid off big pharma propaganda monkey.

  • Really? No Wonder of america is collapsing. More people die from correctly prescribed drugs Each year than even alcohol! !

  • Sadly, all these men fail to address the real issue at hand. THE STUPID SO CALLED DRUG WAR ON THE AMERICAN CITIZEN, THAT'S THE REAL ISSUE HERE NOT THE LEGITIMACY OF MEDICAL CANNABIS, WE KNOW ITS MEDICINE SO WHY PROSECUTE THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO USE IT FOR THAT? OR USE IT EVEN FOR KICKS? ITS ABSOLUTE HYPOCRISY. }:I

  • Portugal legalized all drugs and drug use went down along with cases of HIV/AIDS. Suck on those statistics big pharma.

  • obviously Kevin Sabet is intrenched with big pharma. I mean, who would say such a thing as "we've synthesized cannabis" FUCK BIG PHARMA I DON'T WANT THEIR HANDS ON ANYTHING CANNABIS. I hate when all they care about is profit and not easy access to grow without any fear of prosecution. Its a godsend to be able to grow my own medicine to help deal with crones, all they care about is profits. FUCK THEM. }:I

  • @1980albatros Yeah, and the fact of the matter is, all they did was synthesize THC, which is only ONE of the FOUR HUNDRED cannibinoids in cannabis. Taking pure THC is no bueno, as the other cannibinoids, like cannibinol, serve to regulate the effects of each other. It's 100% pure THC in pill form. In other words, impossible to dose correctly, nor can we even say it has the same effects as consuming the whole female cannabis flower.

  • There has never been a documented human fatality from overdosing on tetrahydrocannabinol or cannabis in its natural form, though the synthetic THC pill Marinol was cited by the FDA as being responsible for 4 of the 11,687 deaths from 17 different FDA approved drugs between January 1, 1997 to June 30, 2005.

We can be sure that if they are willing to admit that much, it was probably responsible for even more deaths than that.

  • @dawimythnotolo You are absolutely right. I know they have not considered that fact, cannabinoids of all different flavors are found to do all the right things in the body from attacking free radicals, to repairing cells and eliminating stress incurred from therapy. Separating one is just focusing strictly on one aggregate (the trippy one) but it would seem that's their intent. I'm sure the rest of the wonder medicine will come later at a costly price.

    These people are SCUM!

  • @1980albatros it's the THC itself that has shown the most benefit towards cancer reduction.

  • @spaggs111 I've read in 420Times that CBN found in the leaves of Sativa strains aid in repairing damaged cells do to its anti inflammatory capacity. Overall Big Pharma just needs to keep their FAT noses out of trying to dictate to me and you whats legal or illegal.

  • @1980albatros exactly. The last thing we need is the FDA to control it, the FDA is literally stocked with future and former big phrma employees. Not making it up, go google the revolving door with phrma fda and government, Its sad.

  • @bilfrado I know tell me about it, its like these WHORES are gonna do whatever they want to make a quick buck. Fuck the smokers they say, they see us as nothing but degenerates all while settling out of court with the victims they have created out of their debacles. ITS JUST MADDENING! and someone needs to put a BULLET! in the head of big pharma once and for all.

  • "It's ADDICTIVE! (for some people)" Chocolate is addictive for some people. fast food is addictive for some people.hell Adrenalin is addictive for some people. Why in Society are we limiting the Majority constantly for the coddling of a minuet Minority. wouldn't it be easier to deal with the .001% of society who is allergic to peanuts then make peanut-butter cookies illegal?... We need to take our power back from the bureaucrats who clearly have no idea t they are doing. other then making money.

  • @JRMCNEA exactly. If they really wanna keep us safe outlaw mcdonalds and peanut butter and everything else that can impose a danger to someone's health.

  • Fuck Dr. Drew and the FDA

  • Screw the FDA

  • @bushpigification "Medicine needs to be determined by science and the scientific process. not popular vote at the voting box." Isn't misinformed popular fear and NOT science what they used to make cannabis illegal in the first place? There was a presidential scientific study done and Cannabis was found to be equally or less harmful then Alcohol and tobacco. But Nixon ignored it and said "nah Reefer madness is real!!". And to this day they will not have this discussion.

  • @JRMCNEA Right, the Shafer Report, 1972. Nixon trashed it for one simple reason: He knew that people who smoked pot didn't like him. So Nixon declared a war on those dirty hippies. No science involved in that decision whatsoever. Go back to 1937, not one bit of science was used, just Reefer Madness.

It's such a bad fucking joke. Science is on the side of cannabis, but government keeps it illegal through fear and propaganda. Oh, and large amounts of cash from big pharma. And private prisons.

  • The only problem with it is that it's illegal get the fuck out of people's private lives and habits you assholes! We know we're being scammed into losing our rights. The government brings in the drugs, bust us on the user level, then they get to take our rights to vote and own guns away. It's a great scam for them as they laugh all the way to the bank.

  • I don't understand the young Douctor's view that actual marijuana, whether it's named Purple Haze is irrelevant, is not ok, but Marinol or any manufactured DRUG is perfectly fine. Seems like the profit motive in this case is no better than the dealer pushing his wares at the expense of the user.

  • What about the case for FREEDOM!! Ron Paul 2012!!

  • Dr. Drew is a fucking quack! Marijuana is addictive?! Yes, it's addictive just like television and YouTube; maybe we should make TV and the Internet illegal.

  • The war on terror is as FAKE as the war on drugs. The central bankers intelligence arms (CIA, MI6, Mossad) are the REAL terrorists and drug runners.

  • Have they ever done actual research on soft drugs? Or done research on how it's working out in The Netherlands where it has been legal for ages?

  • @douche101ification Also there is that fine distinction where 1910's "culture" was purely determined by one major group of voting white MALE business men

  • Here's your fucking research - marijuana has not killed one person - EVER.

  • mmm.. Synthetic drugs are the only cure. whoooo. Pharmaceuticals win again

  • Dr Drew is not credible, he is an establishment puppet. He will say whatever the Americans want to hear in order to increase his popularity, aint nothing real here.

  • Fuck you dr drew, weed is not addictive thats complete and utter bunkem. You will NOT go through physical withdrawls or seizures from smoking pot, it may be psychologically addictive to some, but its not addictive like heroin cigarettes and klonopin are addictive. Also nice job giving that Sabet guy the majority of talking time and turning this into some bullshit hawking of the prison-pharmaceutical complex. Trying to make us spend billions buying pills instead of growing plants, fuck this noise

  • That Drew guy has the ball to say... it is addictive to 'some' people. Cigarettes is addictive to all people (not to mention deadly) why is it not schedule 1 by their logic... and don't give that it's a cultural crap.

  • yea but how about hemp? they outlawed marijuana because they wanted to outlaw hemp which is a cousin plant of what we now call 'marijuana'.

  • "We want to reduce availability..." So how's that working out for you, doc?

Never underestimate the capacity of Americans to overlook the pathetic failures of their government.

  • Smokin weed as I watch this video

  • That FDA lackey is a real slimeball.

  • Fuck the FDA!!!!

  • The whole "It's a cultural thing." didn't make sense in the 60's and it makes even less sense now.

  • I am a MD and an PhD student and I REALLY DONT GET WHY DRUGS ARE ILLEGAL!

  • great video Moxxy thks

  • Keep it illegal please, so that the Big Pharm can create a profitable/patent-able version. Then they can keep our prisons full for the private-for profit companies, while still bringing in big money for the pharmaceutics companies.

  • The DEA says marijuana is the cash crop of the Mexico drug cartels. They use this revenue source to buy hard drugs. Ending the prohibition of marijuana will contribute in weakening the Mexico drug cartels and save thousands of lives in Mexico. The death toll now is over 38,000 dead people in Mexico. How many more will die due to prohibition?

  • Free the Weed!!!

  • That young doctor, steve i think, definetly has an agenda and doesnt understand the point to legalisation. Its the principle behind it. Its not just, oh I wanna smoke pot because its cool. Its up to the individual what they do in there own lives and not what a government 'allows' you to do.

  • Comment removed

  • @blueorangelettuce exactly. why would I buy a drug that comes from a plant if the drug has no higher benefits from me just ingesting the plant... where did this quake job crap come from that if the FDA doesn't approve the air we breath it is not ok...

  • give the douchbag the last word. fuck you drew with your wussy ass addiction dribble.

  • Drugs are too profitable illegal to make them legal. The banks that launder the drug money use this source of liquidity to keep afloat in financial crisis. It's good for government to justify new powers that may undermine people's right all in the name of fighting the drug war. And all the people behind bars. Over 38,000 in Mexico die because of drug prohibition in the US who is the big consumer of drugs.

  • 443,000 deaths annually from tobaco,(Brown U) 79,000 deaths directly attributed to alcohol, (CDCP) number of deaths directly attributed to weed --ZERO. We dont need to spend millions to big pharma to get something we should be able to grow free. "He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself." ~~Thomas Paine

  • kevin you are a psycho half truth spewing pussy

  • which came first medicine or science?

  • It wont be legalised, its bad for business.

  • My kids can get an ounce of weed faster then it takes me to drive to the beer store and pick up a 24. This didn't work.

  • yes!

  • @KnowledgeISpower789 its not gonna happen for many years. The pharmaceutical companys wont allow it. They have their own pill form coming out

  • @TheEricleeparker one more step closer :D

  • @TheEricleeparker and fuck big pharma, they can go to hell
