@cjordan1362 Thanks, that's what the one I meant! And also the song in the bar when Kevin called scotty to tell him he couldn't make it to the restaurant.
please some body help me! that something kevin wants to tell scotty in the last scene s that he is moving out?? Becuase of the boxes and the empty house...
@NonEmoSebby They're Walkers :D Remember in season 2, episode 12, when Sarah wanted to take Kevin out to "commiserate", and when Kevin refused, Sarah said, "C'mon Kevin, we're Walkers! Let's go do what Walkers do best!" and Kevin answers, "Get drunk?" Yep, pretty much sums it up.
Glad Justin was involved in this story, I really miss seeing Kevin and Justin together. They used to have some very funny scenes together in other seasons.
Yes, I know this is a drama but let's look at it as a morality play. I think that Scotty is in the wrong in two ways. First, he cheated. Second, he admitted he cheated. People who cheat almost always tell their partner because they want to be forgiven. They want to feel better. It never makes the aggrieved partner feel better to be told, honest or not.
As the previous episode set up, Kevin hasn't exactly been, er, available, wink, wink. If you promise to forsake all others, you also promise not to forsake your partner (extraordinary events notwithstanding). Having someone vow to forsake all others then withholding sex, is equivalent to making them vow to celibacy...and that isn't what you both promised at the altar. Sex and romance aren't quite as easy as the years go by while fights about finances, careers and the kids are.
@sgwbutcher Scotty wasn't going to tell Kevin. Remember the last episode? Scotty admitted to Kevin because Kevin was seriously considering starting a family, and Scotty couldn't let that guilt ride on him. Of course he wants to be forgiven; who doesn't want to be forgiven when they make a mistake? Does that make it better? No. But it does mean that Scotty is ready to be held responsible for his mistake, for better or worse.
I loved the details that the director included, like that final scene when we realize that Scotty has slept on/by the couch downstairs, wrapped in Kevin's blanket... Those little touches are so meaningful. Kudos to the director and writer(s).
I have a feeling their relationship will just get stronger from here. The fact that Kevin recognizes that no matter how great a mistake Scotty made, that he shared a bit of the blame, shows that he's starting to really get how much Scotty has had to deal with too,
@getbuck1011 Remember his conversation with Nora? She told him that he needed to tell Scotty about where he was (physically and emotionally) on the night the restaurant opened - as a first step towards working out their problems.
This is another case of people overdemonizing cheating. He could've gotten away with it by omission but no he had to tell him. That onenighter was meaningless, vacuous, and he recognized that. He felt so guilty that it probably won't happen again, plus it doesn't look like sex escapades are his thing anyway. So, give Scotty a break.
@Atemporal The fact that he DID tell Kevin says a lot about Scotty's character though- as devoted as he is to Kevin, Scotty's only human, and thus falls victim to the need of satisfying desires. Plus, Marcus just happened to be there to offer a...*ahem* hand. Still, I'm glad of this little drama in Kevin/Scotty- now, we know that Scotty just cares about Kevin *that* much.
@MEtartara So vocalizing makes it alright? I'm sorry - telling someone doesn't make it go away or right. Scotty stood before all and made a commitment. There are NO take backs. No, I "kinda meant I love you and will only share myself with you and NO other, 'cept when I have issues." People cheat all the time, Gay, str8 - whatever, BUT the excuses are always the same. What is missing from that equation is LOVE, and my love wasn't strong enough to stop me. Conscious makes us different.
@frozenbaby2004 If I made it sound like I condone it, then I apologize- I really didn't mean for anyone to take it badly. You're absolutely correct, vocalizing it DOESN'T make it alright, but that's not to say I don't admire Scotty's courage for taking the honest route- admitting responsibility to it, at least, is better than Scotty lying to Kevin about it indefinitely. At least now there is the POTENTIAL to work things out. Again, I apologize if I made you feel I condone cheating- I don't.
@frozenbaby2004 I just thought I might add- is a relationship, a commitment, only set in stone after the altar? After exchanging the vows? Is that what defines a relationship? Remember all the times Kevin cheated WITH Scotty? It doesn't matter that Kevin only had boyfriends- the fact was that he DID cheat, AND he made it sound like it was Jason's fault! Again, I in no way condone what Scotty did, but neither is he going about hooking up every other night, so I think he has a chance to redeem.
@Atemporal What planet are you from? No such thing as OVER demonizing CHEATING. The very word itself defines itself. Something that is supposed to belong ONLY to you is shared. Intimacy. A statement that he "didn't" have to share, makes it alright? Like saying, well was just a "blow job - doesn't count as sex" When you stand up before your friends, family and peers, MAKE a commitment - nothing, NO excuse releases you from those bonds. You belong at the baths - another Gay excuse.
@frozenbaby2004 I laugh at your insufferably idealized conception of commitment. Listen, not all consider sex as the ultimate act of precious holy love. Sex is what you want it to be, it can be as casual as a handshake, it can be filled with non-intimacy sans no sign of sentimentality or privacy whatsoever because isn't the same for everybody. Yes, he slipped but that doesn't mean he doesn't love him or cares for him; the particular case in question needs to be assessed not some reified idea.
@Atemporal You should laugh, as it's your attitude about sex that have both straight and Gay relationships oft times go astray. And believe me, it's not some enlighten or progressive approach or some new wave psychobabble. In a committed, key word COMMITTED relationship sex is something special that is shared by the two. And between two Gay individuals, yours is a bath house mentality. Anything goes as long as it doesn't violate my ethics or morals. Can't rationalize irrational behavior.
@frozenbaby2004 Again, it's funny how you define commitment for everybody when others are still happily committed considering other factors. In my relationships if you must know since you keep on assuming I'm a gaybathhouse-goer I tell things straight right away, no matter what it is. If they aren't in agreement well I simply move on. Those relationships go astray because the parties involved are either weak-willed or don't know what they want i.e. not my case.
@frozenbaby2004 Honestly, I don't usually go on about defending people with apparently such poor control over themselves but I'm simply saying there are other possibilities and outcomes out there that don't play out by a rigidly preconceived notion of how are things supposed to be.
The only thing i'm mad about is that Scotty isn't wearing his wedding ring in the last scene!, even though it's obvious that it won't be gone for TOO long, it's still sad, it's like he thinks Kevin will leave him and he's giving up!
But i've read the spoilers and i know something thats gonna happen with them in the future that indicates that their gonna be ok! :) so nobody panic! x
I love Nora!, she's so understanding, she knows Kevin and Scotty belong together and that they love each other very much!
I love the scene between Matthew and Sally!, I hated how mean and cold Saul earlier but this later scene explained why he acted the way he did!

Scotty is really eatable . I must admit , i like him now even more than before.
