you dont need to have gloabl warming to see the desert spreading. build up a lot of rainforest over the entire wordl and soon you would freeze the ass off , since the water in the air would even support an iceage probably. its not so easy .
there are some interviews from the field of science at google vids, probably as well here. look for the lie about global warming. of course as ever yinformation anywhere else, watch with caution ;)
doesnt matter for what reason attention raised, it ws time to more be aware of this huge percentage of humanity. of course medias are now trieng to pull off moods and stuff, but after all its just a good mirror.
wow vampirelady69 how retarded can u get? i thought you were just trying to be an asshole but you're just retarded by saying that... who wouldn't thumb down people who are dissing their country?
desertification is a common consequence of unsustainable agricultural practice
China is not the only place experiencing this. In fact, desertification has been around ever since humans invented agriculture. It is hypothesized that the Assyrian civilization was doomed due to desertification. Ancient Egypt used to be arid place.
@JaMoond Too right , if you notice desert or marginal land is prevalent in Iraq , Iran , the middle east and western China and Egypt. What do all these places have in common - they were cradles of the original agricultural civilizations. The mayan civilization was destroyed due to the population demands on the local land around the cities. It does make you wonder if theres some lost civilization hidden in the central or western Sahara desert somewhere.
The Chinese? all the athletes that are about to compete in the Olympic Games? All the countries that trade with one of the biggest economies in the word?
China may end up taking the front line on technology to go green. As more and more cities pop up, the demand for resources will necessitate massive restructuring. The Olympics drew attention to he air problem. Hopefully, this attention will start a cultural shift toward environmental thinking.
But humans brought this change about in nature, and their only hope is now to try to change it back. not to say it will work, necessarily, but you never know.
I live in S. Korea and that sand storm from China comes to Korea every year. Everyone has to wear masks and if you look outside you can see like sand in the air. Its very harmful because if you breathe it in, it like stays in your lungs. And the worst thing is, the only reason the sand storm comes is because the chinese people cut down all those trees. If they didn't the sand storm wouldn't even come to where people lived. Amazing how nature works.
they could make little walls not very tall out of brush even that would encourage different habitat and less sand. in Tuscon they have these ugly bushes that grow everywhere that prevent sand and keep the ground together. Tucson is desert you know.
Industrial civilisation is turning the world into both a physical and an emotional desert. And in the desert, only cacti can flourish - plants with long spikes that can survive on very little water and nutrients. Underneath their spikes, cacti are hypersensitive of course...
i'm sure your being dramatic and exaggerating. problem is people are braught up on media and though tv. everything is a sitcom or glorified. people are still people and have to survive. it's not that hard in a society but the common perception is that society is supposed to spoon fed them so we have generation after generation of brats that turn out to be worthless or even criminals. the hours of time one spends entertaining and not achieving a day would make a person from 1800s barf.
I'm not exaggerating at all. On the contrary: perhaps "wasteland" would be a better word than "desert" but when I watched the video I was reminded of this analogy which Wilhelm Reich made in one of his books and I took it a step further by adding the last sentence.
communist concept is not bad. your confusing them with communist Russia which is not a comparison. in fact there was no difference between nazi germany and russia at the time. russia even had prison camps themself and committed many atrocities. their also big into mind experimentation and even experiment on their own people but just happened to be hitlers enemy. communist just means everything goes though the government.
