Nice lift! I'm only doing 270 lbs for 6 reps. I might be able to do more but I'm not interested in hurting myself at my age. Again, great work and stay strong.
It's been 8 weeks now and to be honest, I am not sure the surgery accomplished anything. My surgeon told me from the start that it might not. But it couldn't hurt matters. Hopefully it will start feeling better in the coming weeks. For now it's limiting me in any type of press for shoulders or chest.
I am off to the doctor to schedule a 'decompression' surgery on my left shoulder. Basically I have worn away almost all the cartilage in there through so many years of wear and tear. The lift in this video is NOT representative of how I normally train these days.
BigVin, please post your awesome shoulder press video.
And keep in mind I am a National-level Heavyweight bodybuilder. My training is to build a physique, and I am not trying to break any strength records. I happen to have pretty damn good shoulders, and that's all I really care about.
Take the elbow wraps off= minus 25~30lb....keep your ass down and touch your chest = minus50~80 lb....so your max is no where near even 230 with prefect raw form!
@bigvin11585 hes doing this for camera, he doesnt do this in every shoulder workout, Ron trains with super strict form with less than half of this weight. Alot of people post vidson youtube to showcase a impressive lift. Is this lift impressive? Yes its over 300 fucking pounds overhead pressing it, who cares if hes not using super strict form, will he fuck himself up doing it like this every week? Of course! But he doesnt use that form in his "real non-youtube" workouts.
Given that for the first few reps at least the spotter had no more than each index finger in contact with the bar I think it's safe to say that was all Ron. Even with spotter assistance at the end it's still a heavy ass set
I knew ahead of time I would get blasted for my form. That's fine. I freely admit this is not a strict mil press. So anyone else who wants to repeat that, don't bother. I KNOW!

Yea I have heard the same thing from other people who have had shoulder surgery. I'm sure in a few months you'll be back to normal.

How did the shoulder surgery go? My shoulders creak and pop and make all sorts of noises lol!! Surgery might be in my future as well.

Thanks - I am sure a lot of negative comments on training clips are from people who have never even touched a weight.

its much easier to type a shitty comment then it is to perform a lift of this magnitude. good job broski

I don't know how much the spotter was helping either.
So to any of you who can press 315 overhead for reps with no one touching the bar, I salute you. Please post a video!

looking strong Ron. Always a fan of your vids. This is more like an incline bench tho.

I agree, it is not a strict military press. Most I can do that way is 225 for 12.

insane. 315lb?!
magicman4130 1 year ago
You're stronger than me, Ron. A lot stronger. But that's no Military Press.
