  • The theme of the whole series No Crying Until The End....

  • The series are awesome, but the legal issues with songs and very view minor character designs are what's hindering the release of it in the US. This is very sad. If Itoi-san really cares about western culture, he would make a Mother game exclusively for the US, so that his team could do music references while being careful.

  • i think this is the best of all 5 ads

  • Gaimuboi Aduvaunce...

    Mauza Fthree.

  • 0:21 when the piano starts... it moves me.

  • It isn't just a game. Things like this arent made just to be meer games, they're more than that. Here's hoping Mothers 1, 2, and 3 come to our shores!

  • DANGIT! The Piano got me again....;(

  • @TheHornet79

omg i kno right? i want to hear the official arrangement of that

  • @DarkJokerOfAmuro if you take a poop and the paino riff plays you'll be sad becuase the poop went away :( Thats how sad it is

  • @TheHornet79

    uuuhh.....ok........

  • Strange, Funny, and Heartrending. three epic words that sums up this tearjerking masterpeice thumbs up if u agree

  • @majekaru your one of the lucky ones, sorry if i was being stereotypical

  • xbox and ps3 players cannot grasp the true sadness of the mother series, fucking first person shooters...

  • @ShinoWATI

I'm a huge PS3 fan and I love the Mother series....

  • @majekaru lol, i feel sorry for you (talking about the ps3 and xbox)

  • @RedBlueChannel

Go play Little Big Planet, lol.

  • she's cute.

  • mother 3 is not just a game, its an experience!

  • @bigcritic69 agreed

  • Oh geez...the music started and I went from "This commercial is crap" to "Oh geez, I'm so sad!"

  • For Christs sake, I'm crying again. I'm not even playing the game and I'm tearing up. Just the piano and what she says...It's heartrending.

  • Couldn't have said it better

  • Its weird the Japanese seem to possess some dramatic sense of surrealism in their art. Their RPG games even have this quality. I remember Earthbound 1 moved me somehow. Despite being dated. If they were to make a sequel, maybe update the combat engine to be real time and put it on a next gen system while keeping the strange moving Earthbound feel, they could have a masterpiece.

  • nah let the game stay the way it is, yes the battle system takes time getting used to but its something that makes the earthbound/mother series the series that it is.

  • @Rushthatspeaks Yea in a perfect world. But with the glut of online shooters and driving games nowadays, nobody would really buy it to begin with.

  • Very sad game, indeed.

Though odd that the Wess Dance video is listed as a related video. >.>

  • You wouldn't understand unless you've played through the game yourself. As corny as it is, it's exactly what the majority of people playing the game think.

  • Hey, don't touch the fanboys' emotions. They're made of glass, you know.

  • ;_;

  • She looked as though she was about to cry at the end :c

  • that lady basically said what we all felt about mother 3.

  • Yay...no wait...wha? ;/

  • Now that the fan translation came out. We can all relax, play the game, and finally stop bugging Reggie Fils-Aime.

I agree, it's more than just a game. It's a game that touches our hearts. People can share some sort of spiritual bond with it. A game like this comes once in a long while.

Don't miss out on this game guys and girls...

  • I say we boycott NOA for a good month or 6. I'm sure they won't mind losing money... :P

  • I find it saddest of all that we had to pirate the game and that itoi our father lost money...yeah its cruel as all hell isn't it?

  • Agreed. Now I'm compelled to wire Itoi about 4800 yen directly to his account. It's the least I can do. :(

  • well, hes done with the series, so its not like hes still making a living off of the mother series. and hes not losing any money since hello? it wasnt sold in america in the first place! its not our faults that were playing the game without buying it, we weren't given the option of buying it to begin with.

  • He lost an opportunity to make money by having them not release it in the states...thats common sense and thus he lost money.

  • yeah, but still, you were trying to make it sound like it was our faults for downloading the emulators.

  • No I wasn't doing that at all if you knew how to comprehend the English language you would know it said that I find it sad that we all had to meaning that I did so as well. This means I am upset with the source not the consumer. Also yes I was insulting you there thought I'd clarify so that you understood the statement this time with out the hassle.

  • If every real game fan boycotted Nintendo for a year, they'd make more money because all the people who refused to play games because it's not cool would realize that the wii and DS weren't "nerd" things, and they'd sell more. True story. All we should do is support good games whenever they're released. That's the only way to keep the industry from narrowing its focus to (ironically) reach more people at the expense of us and what we hold dear.

  • @TBustah It's the freaking music in MOTHER 2. It's not Reggie's fault, he said he liked MOTHER. LEARN BEFORE YOU POST!!!

  • @MrSaturn33 I did learn.

I made that post two years ago, long before the whole music situation was common knowledge.

That being said, he HAS more or less said that he doesn't car about Mother fans.

  • @TBustah Yea. Unfortunately money talks and by 2006, nobody was really playing GBA in America. Plus it would take time and money to translate the game and it would just end up not selling. Although a ds port would've been super.

  • @Dreamewalker Like you said, it didn't HAVE to be on GBA. The first Phoenix Wright games were ported over to DS when they came here. Why not Mother 3? There's no excuse there.

As for the game not selling, the 30,000 people who signed that petition would probably disagree with you. If Nintendo had held off the English releases until after Brawl came out, I'm sure there'd be plenty more people in addition to that 30k, people who'd want to play the game Lucas came from.

  • @TBustah who are you talking about?

  • @metakight4 Reggie Fils-Aime, whom it was once believed to be responsible for keeping the series from being released in North America.

I've decided to withdraw that comment, though. It was based on what is now outdated information.

It really isn't his fault, and I know that now.

  • @TBustah ok thank you lol

  • just watching the vids of mother 3 and the music in this commercial is kinda sad i cant wait to get the fan made translation!!!

  • "Strange,funny,and heartrending"

    Truthiness

  • I like to think that that voice saying "Gamubouy" at the end is Lucas....or Claus....either way,it's still sad Q_Q

  • Maybe the different advertising approach is why the Mother series was more successful in Japan than in North America.

  • true north america somehow really didnt get commercials for the game witch made it not so popular actually i just heard about the earthbound sereis about a year or 2 ago!!!

  • MOTHER3 is truly heartrending.

I've beat it several times, and it STILL makes me cry.

  • The term 'Jap' is derogatory... But otherwise, I agree.

  • Yeah, the game's story was heartrending... ;o;

  • She's not lying, either. That part in Chapter 1....One of the most shocking things I've ever seen in a video game...

  • and later events but im not saying so i dont spoil it for anyone

  • Indeed. I beat the game about a month ago, and, oh God I cried for about an hour over the ending.

  • 60% of the stuff in Mother 3 is conveyed by character sprites, symbols, sounds, etcetera. Although it would help to be able to read Japanese, you can still play it and be able to enjoy the game.

  • There's a translation guide....>_>

  • Wow...
