  • xDDDD I live in New York, I go to Times Square with my mommy.....and its still OPEN! =O Its June...and its still open.. .-.

  • So this is happening starting this weekend?

Cause I'm going to be in the city friday, and I want to see how it all works.

  • dude u rock i implore you to keep doin what you are doin because you have a voice and bygod let it be heard i subscribed to you

  • omg people yall are ignorant here is a kid with balls at least he has an appinion u suck kmfdm420 go back under the rock u came out of at least he is giving his appinion and as for the bible it is a stupid fictional book

  • do you live in New York???

  • interesting vid, i wanna go new york and check this out!

  • great, now there will be even more moron tourists crowding the place and no cars to think their ranks.

  • shut up smart ass

    reply to doucheface

  • I like times square the way it is but I guess since I don't live in New York, whatever. Its just I really enjoy crowds, not everyday but when I'm on vacation I enjoy them, we've got little cafe's and crap here in Chicago tell some of the people to come here if they want to sit outside, hell their still going to breath groos fucking air. Anyway stuid idea, I don't care how they change it the people will just replace the cars. It'll be streets of people more than usual...of course we want that!

  • I think it's a good idea. Just get rid of the hookers and TVs and enjoy the space, much like an outdoor mall.

And you, young man, are going places.

    Best of luck!

    Joseph

  • I like Times Square the way it is, but I think this is a very good idea. There are times when it is just WAY too congested and it would be safer for everyone to get some of the cars out of 42nd-47th. More trees and benches in the city would be great! And widening 7th avenue is an awesome way to compensate. Thumbs up to Mr. Bloomberg! :)

  • wtf?! dont make manhattan GREEN! WTF! is wrong with bloomberg

OMG! its called urban not sub-urban manhattan is urban, im not happy bout this at all! leave manhattan the way its supposed to be, fix harlem not midtown, midtown is perfect just the way it is! and make the lower east sidee more nicer jeez!

  • You really need to stop doing that bullshit, ive seen it five times already, the bible was written over ten thousand years ago by plenty of different people who couldve altered it to fit their needs, and on that matter, Gods were created when science couldnt explain shit, now that science is more advanced and has proven physics would stop any "God" from having any sort of extra ability over regular humans..and yes it is spam..

  • thats such a good idea

last time i went to times square, i almost got hit by a car like 10 million times.

    :D

  • or maybe you tried to commit suicide 10 million times

  • That's awesome, I like to hear news about development.

I like how your shirt matches the walls.

  • huhhhh it does

  • that's stupid. times square is great just the way it is.

  • i think its a good thing cuzzzz i relly dont like time square with all that traffic n it will be cool all outdoorsyy n stuff

  • i live on the other side of the country and have never been to newyork so i really dont care.

  • that's the scariest thing i've seen on the internet at all...if u haven't already i would suggest doing watching free speach tv...i think we're all in for some shit and i'm pretty fuckin scared...everyone is so fucking clueless...something needs to but e done about this....this has to be handled right now!!!!!

  • i think that's actually pretty cool most ppl in nyc take the subway and walk most places so it actually might be kind of nice. But i am sure ppl who use those roads on a daily basis will be pretty upset.

  • they are worried about cloverfield happening lol (in the wikipedia description for 2009 one post in may said

"the events of cloverfiedl took place on this day" lol

  • Wow, that is really interesting. Thank you for sharing that or I may not have known. Also, I'd like to say I think you're reviews are great and you're one of the few people who on this site that are actually intelligent and don't whine about how lame and sad their pathetic lives are. Good job!

  • wow dumb fuck

  • Good thing because it seems like cars don't mind running over pedestrians and ignoring traffic signals. So yeah, I support it.

  • Eh I dont really care, I live in California *shrugs*

  • good thing. Of course.

  • what i don't get it?

  • I AM REALLY CURIOUS OF WHAT CITY YOU LIVE IN! AND IN WHAT COUNTRY cause... your room looks axactly like my old houses room, just painted up... and i left

  • DUDE NO WAY!!! You're never going to believe this when I tell you this but... my room ALSO HAS WALLS, AND A TELEVISION, AND IS PAINTED!!!!! That's just too strange to only be a coincidence, right?! And you know what!? I just noticed, It has a door too... whoa, I totally just got goosebumps, did you? Maybe we should call Mrs. Cleo to see if we're all somehow connected to each other or something...

    Seriously, too weird RepoOpera3

  • No see... its just that ... my old room had the SAME set up... like... the window was in the same spot as his... and the door is placed in the same place... seems as big as my old room... just painted... i was curious... you didn't need to be so rude about it, okay.... i was simply asking a question which was not even directed to you.

  • Wow it will definetely be a much greener area for once. I don't even live in the city and I agree it is for a good cause. They did something like this last year on Park and Fifth Ave. or both if I'm not mistaken. But it didn't really benefit the residents as they usually head to the Hamptons for the summer season.

  • what does this have to do with angelinos such as myself,,,

    west coast fo life

  • thats awesome news,

its about 'square time'. That area is a bit busy with traffic and all.I think it will totally make the area better. Outdoor cafe type setting. Love the info, first im hearing it.

  • I don't like this. I like the hustle and bustle of the city. I like getting almost hit by cars. DUH it's a city.

  • I hope it works out

  • thank god i always get freaked out walking around through the crosswalks and then watching like strollers and stuff its dangerous

but then again time square is kind of known for that and if u go there its ur resposnsibility well unless like a drunk driver is rolling around the streets so idk

im kinda siding with it being a good idea to stop traffic

  • :S! but I love NYC!

    :S:S:(:(

  • that sounds pretty cool

  • wooooo greener!

  • I've never been to NYC so I wouldn't know anything about the traffic there. So this whole thing doesn't make a real difference to me. Maybe when I go with my choir in 2 years and compair the experience with my brother, I'll notice something.

  • SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hope thisis true.. i cant wait to move there now :)

  • that is NOT funny!!!! i thought like we cldnt go there anymore

  • what does his shirt sayy? :P

  • lol

  • what the hell. whats nyc with no traffic?

  • funny boy..

its kkinda good i guess. thats interesting.

  • theres the plus about suscribing 2 u, i wouldnt have known about this until..the end of this year when its finished l0lz

  • how is shutting down streets going to help traffic? Foot traffic maybe but not vehicle traffic that should get worse.

  • now all they need to do is put some fucking public restrooms around

  • yeah public restrooms in TS is a bitch. USually the mcdonalds on the strip and 42nd street will let you in if its not too late, also the TS information center has a public bathroom.

  • wow that's going to change the times square with those infamous yellow taxi cabs crisscrossing, oh well that is a good idea...

  • WHERE DO U FIND ALL THIS SHIT?

  • This sounds very reasonable I've been in time square once during the black out but this wont last long once started when the town does something like with airports the government shuts it down pretty much saying you can't do this we can deal I hope this last's the entire way because this sounds good

  • did your friend ever win that contest??? i voted for him twice.......so i wanna know if he won.

  • I like the way you talk, Carl??

  • you should be on the Today Show , on Anne Curry

  • Thank you for posting this!!! Is times square being shut off completely for vehicles, or is there going to be a lane that vehicles can use?

  • How would cutting lanes make less traffic? This is just gonna make shit worse...

  • Well i haven't been there. But this I do kno: NYC not the easiest city to turn green shortly.

  • I think its a good idea, more space to get around not so hetic everyone needs a little less gurrr in life.

  • an eco-times square???

yeah right it's like saying a fishless aquarium.

OK weird analogy but NYC is like totally neon, which isnt eco-friendly so that'll take a long time.

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!

    This is shocking!!!!!!!!!!!

No not the subject of this video, but the color of this dudes walls.

    Uggggggggggggh!

  • yah i was thinking the same thing. that aqua blue looks like it glows at night time.

  • That bugged me too.

  • f**k traffic.. thats rite... those motha f*** taxis will run you over...LOL

  • and think, yet another generic shot of New York to be out dated, like the skyline with the Twins towers . . .

  • i think itll be nice for the pedestrians, but wouldnt cutting the lanes make more backups?

  • i knew he was American Rorap15..i wanted to know where IN America.

  • Sounds stupid.

  • Good job, basically telling us the obvious. Okay, digging around? Hmmmm, how about NY Times? Duh, your reporting SUCKED.

Also, it is called Broadway Boulevard. Not only "people safe" but it will cut down on the need for the car. Get your facts straight!

  • wait, i write that, no i wrote that but it came up as the other name , my computer remembered it as mine extra one, oops reply to this..... name!

  • I think its awesome. I do not think that traffic will get any better, because its New York and traffic will never get better in NY unless they start forcing people to give up cars in the city.

BUT, I think this will be great for time-square not just for tourists to not get killed while trying to navigate around, but for the locals to have more "relaxation" and people-watching space.

  • I was about to say, you fool, that makes no sense. I was thinking: How on Earth could they do that? And, yeah, Bloomberg is an absolute fool! I love Times Square for what it is. First he puts those goddamned gardens in the middle of the street and now this!

  • that should be..interesting. i gotta wait to see if i like it....&& i like the color of your walls..its a pretty blue.

  • i think it would be really really cool to have Times Square without traffic im an outdoorsy person so i guess thats why!! :D

  • ur smart, nd hot

  • if they do this then where are they going to show the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

  • oh at first I though you meant all the lights would go out or something. that would be HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I LOVE NYC!!!!

  • omg THATS so ... WIERD!

  • ok...i've seen quite a few of your videos..and i LOVE..like LOVE different accents, and i think yours is pretty SWEET!! so..where are you from??

i know that sounds weird...but i like accents, and yours sounds really cool!!

  • Um, he's American?

  • Omg, your evil :P

I got well scared at the title!

  • i say that we should close down streets on special times of the year

and about 1once or twice every season

  • omg!!!the title scared me!!!i was like wtf?!?!?!

  • me too

    i said the same thing!

  • lol

    i got kinda freaked out

    cause it's times square for

    crying out loud

  • isnt the cars sorta the point of times square?

    i wish i lived in NY :(

  • Same here :(

  • HOLY SHIT!! IS THIS REAL?????

  • i live 15 minutes away from NYC and well u know .ive become used to the cars and stuff. NYC isnt d same without the hustle and bustle of cars. ill miss the sounds and the feeling to know your in the hectic city of NYC

  • awesome!

  • that's actually really cool.

it can get really crowded sometime. but yeah, as you said, i don't really know what to say about it until i see it myself

  • in middlesbrough (uk) we have done that too but we arent as big as NYC.... but it is good tho there is plenty of cafes, good business and plus with the current situation with the (dare i say it) economy it'll drag some more jobs in and money =]

  • its gonna be super cool! im so excited!

  • I live in Cleveland, and it's one of the top ten largest cities in the US, but it isn't NEARLY as hectic as NYC.

  • I never get out of Iowa, so I wouldn't know.

  • :OOO

  • I'm not sure. I haven't been there at all. This should be interesting though.

  • this sounds really neat. i'd totally go if that happened.

  • I noticed something like that when i visited in Oct 08. It was suppose to be the street (I can't remember where) but there were plants and tables. I was like..huh. It should be interesting. When most ppl think of Times Square they think of this super busy place. I don't know. It shall be interesting. I'll have to visit after it goes into effect.

  • It sounds like a good initiative. Although, will this cause more pollution because they will have to drive around further?

I dont really know how New York is laid out so I'm not sure.

    But thanks for the update!

  • I wonder what happens! Ive havent been so I dont have an opinion!

  • omg thats wat pisses me off about new york.

wat kind of street names are 27th and 5th street?

lol they obviously dont know naming was created...

    :P

  • haha. Chicago is like that as well.

  • it makes it much, much easier to navigate the city. imagine trying to memorize 100 + names and trying to recite and explain them to a friend or stranger needing directions? it's a lot more convienient in general.

  • ya ur right but i mean when u live in a city for a while, the streets stik in your head. just like any other place

  • u kno ive never been to NY but wont closing lanes make more traffic? ive seen that happen before when i lived in tijuana (i dont any more) just saying :S

  • cool...pretty good idea

  • niceee 8-)

  • i think thatd be kewl cuz like its scary taxis run you down if u dont move out of the way and the sidewalks are so tiny id be nice to be able to enjoy the scenery since its such a tourist destination....

  • omg I really believed u when you said times square is being shut down Im very gullable

    you really scared me there

Im a little confused about the situation

where are they getin the room for da cars

if theyr cutin the side walx short then where do we walk?

they made big side walks for a reason

there are a ton of ppl in times square

i think the idea is a little dum-but realy it depends on how short they make the side walx-if they make them 2 short da side walks r gonna b 2 congested for ppl to walk

  • hahaha, thats so funny!!!

  • cool idea.

never been to new york before so i really couldn't comment on anything more.

  • good good good

  • i think it'll be interesting to see what happenes

  • huh...this should be interesting...

At least I don't have to worry about getting hit by a car when there's no room left on the sidewalk.

But yeah- won't that make the other streets a bit more crowded? *shrugs* I don't know. We shall see!

  • thats cool ... i think it will be good .. but the roads that can have traffic will be crazy

i deff cant wait to see what it looks like after

  • Pedestrians??

lol Skaters are gonna come out now

  • weird

  • idk wat to say...???

  • i dont think it will reduce traffic

    its definitely more green freindly

  • it'll be pretty awesomee :]

  • i like how your shirt matches your walls

    aha

  • hmm idk i think itll be kinda cool and like fun or whatnot but i just wonder how it will actually be

  • i dont live in NY but al watch this video .xx

hey just realise you have same tv i have in my room

it exactly like that in corner -hahah XD

  • u r HOT...sizzle,,,

  • ur hot really hot

  • totally agree ♥

  • u SCARED MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! OMGOMGOMGGGG!!!!!

  • i think itll be cool to see, especially landscaped. ill make plans to go see it now. thanx for letting me kno

  • I think it'll be cool, but I'll have to see. what's with you and the dramatic titles? hahaa

  • I like it the way that it is because i love the hussle and bussle, HOWEVER.... if it were more pedestrian friendly, there'd still be a lot of that.. so I'm all for it.

  • ur t-shirt matches the walls

  • the only annoying thing in NY is that if your with a party bigger than 3 or 4, you need a van cab, and there arent a lot of those. not to mention they have just one person going into a 6-seated van. it ridiculous.

  • well dude doesnt really affect me over here in NJ

  • nor me in greece :P

  • Hmm...When I Went To NY, I Was In A CRAP Hotel In Times Square, and Times Square Is Freaking Amazing At Night. I Think That Shutting Some Lanes Down Is A Good Thing Because It'll Make It Easier For Pedestrians. :P

    xxx

  • i goo their all the time =]

  • rofl i've lived in new york my entire life & i've only been to times square.. twice

    o.o

  • moioooog?

  • HOLY CRAP YOU SCARED ME!!!

    haha

but I think that's an okay idea.

I like the city feel and all the business and stuff

but i guess i can't judge until I've seen it!

  • I live in Upstate NY so I don't go to the city very often... but I kinda like Times Square the way it is...

  • im going to NY l8r ths yr!! :)it wud b nice for ppl like me who arnt allowed to drive legally yet......

  • I think its kl, coz when i went to new york (i live in the uk btw) it was really busy and it took you ages to cross the roads so i think the idea will make going to times square more enjoyable :D

  • Haven't been to the States before but if i had the chance in the past i would have gone to time square.

  • A good thing, even though I'm in the UK. This'll stop some of the carbon emissions and help our planet become much more green! :D xxx

  • diff. a good thing

  • i love your blue wall :D

    hahaha

  • THAT IS SO AWESOME! my cousin will love this. i can't wait to tell him!

  • I think I went their once. I don't remember all the hustle and bustle as I live in Canada but, if it helps peaple out by getting rid of the traffic problems etc, then go for it.

  • I have that jacket.

  • yoo more skate spots!

    holluh for a fuuucking dolluh!

    good deal, good deal

    thanks for the newsss eric!!!

  • It'll certainly change the way Times Square is used in films...

  • I am totally going to watch you on blogtv. You sound seriously smart.

  • thats gonna be sick! traffic was cool being there as is, but idk about this. it could work out

  • huh. Never been to NYC or times square or anything, but i find this interesting, no opinion really yet, but thats interesting! So its supposed to be eco friendly? I'm all for it~

  • Awesome me and my friends are gonna hang out there 24/7 cuz i live right in MANHATTAN!!!

  • your voice is cool. your cute.

and it amazes me how much you know about stuff.

  • Well I live in New Zealand so this doesn't affect me too much but good on them. Reducing the traffic I think will be a good thing.

  • They need to!

There's so many people walking around you'd be suprise noone got hit by one yet!

  • you wanna know what i think.... i think its amazing how you know soo much about sooo much!

p.s new york will be a better place with less cars which means less pollution... which is always a good thing

  • where did he get his shirtt???

    can someone tell me pleasee!!!

  • Do I hear Times Square...Park???

  • that sounds cool!

  • omg that stinks! i love driving there and looking at the billboards....its not as goood bc the naked cowboy retired bc he won like a million dollars in a law suit....but it is still pretty amazing! Im gonna miss that. Traffic is gonna be horrible on the side streets...dont you think?
