Pique was never a proven race driver, he lacked pace and confidence, i dont think he had any racing tallent at all, in fact i even think grosjean was better. Cant think of one race where he performed better than his team mate, the only reason he got the drive was because of his father, not his skill. All that being said, what Renault did to him as absolutely shockin, he never got a fair bite of the apple, he was treat like dirt in that team, it wasnt right. :(

I'm not a fan but I really felt bad for Piquet Jr. because of all the pressure that was put on him. I'm pretty sure he knew something would be at risk if he didn't put it in the wall (a seat for the next year, money, options maybe?) personally, I would have told them to "Blow Me" and kept driving.

Piquet and Piquet Jr are crap so eventually Jr got his dues, I wonder how much he cost the renault team in damage repairs for crashes of his own accord. His father once called Ayrton Senna nothing better thn a Brazilian Taxi Driver, wow how proud he must be of his Son who would be luck if he got a job polishing taxis, he certainly would not be good enough to drive one. @milkshakemuncher I agree. Piquet sr. was the biggest dick I have ever come across, not only in F1, but in Sport in General, and his son's not exactly much better.

What team manager would hire him after this? He performs crap, and then as soon as he gets sacked gives interviews as to how "shit Alonso is" and how Briatore "is a cock."

I agree with him going public with crashgate, but some of the other stuff he said was just guaranteeing he'd never again drive an F1 car.

Nelson Piquet, drove for Renault until this year.  He never was able to perform well in the car so his team bosses had him crash on perpose in Singapore so that his team mate Fernando Alonso would win.
