dark knight was good on first viewing but now im seeing it as extremely overrated...I wish it got better on repeated viewings but in my opinion the movie is extremely flawed & to be honest I know most of you wont agree but I didn't think the Joker (heath ledger) accurately presented a true comic book portrayal as nicholsen did with his Joker.
Unfortunately this is not a comic book so they won't be doing stupid things like having the dead come back to life or walk out of the asylum as soon as they are put back in.

Wow I really disagree with him about Maggie Gylenhall in this movie. I thought she not only looked good but was a huge improvement on the original character, without being too dissimilar.
I agree that she was a huge improvement, but it's true that Maggie isn't the most beautiful girl, but I think that the character in itself covered for whatever lack of beauty she had. I like her cheeks however lol

I have to admit that The Dark Knight was one heck of a movie. It did have it's flaws, especially the car chase, but when you are intrigued with the characters and the story, yeah those things can be overlooked. :) As for me, I liked the actress who played Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight than Batman Begins. I think I agree with you on the whole cosplay thing. I don't think it makes the people that dress up any more fans than the people who have waited just as long to see it. If I don't want to dress up, that's a personal choice, but it doesn't make me less of a fan.
This is one review by YOU, i DO agree with, for once, and btw, the reason us fans and geeks, and junk, dress up in costumes and stuff, is because we've been waiting a while and we're celerbrating, because guess what, we care way more about the movies than you do apparently, but yeah, the dark knight was freaking awesome movie, which is probably why i was so disappointed by the special features on the dvd.
oh, and about the little "plot hole" or whatever, about the hospital, it's simple, Joker has OTHER PEOPLE that will do stuff for him, he's got his little clowns that tried to help him capture Harvey Dent, rob the bank, etc. He's has somewhat "henchmen", trust it's possible, i mean it's the joker, plus he also had people hidden in the police force too, so it's quite possible he got people in the hospital as well.
This movie was great, I can't deny. I agree with Spoony on Academy Awards; they sometimes don't pick good people.
I must, however, somewhat disagree with him on Maggie Gyllenhaal. While she did not look as good as she usually does, I didn't think that she was ugly. (I think it was because of the bags under her eyes, looking as if she were an insomniac.)
Another flaw, movie was great though I have it, I bet so many people know about this one, I kind of got mad about how Harvey turned into two face, because as everyone knows he was turned into two face by acid, but in this movie it was gasoline. Great that the girl died but come on that goes away from the comic.
The comics have several contradicting origins for Two-face in themselves, so there is no way to not go away from the comics in some way. And you should have guessed from the first one, but they're not trying to follow the comics exactly, hence why Ra's didn't have LAZARUS PITS to make him immortal. Instead it had the more realistic, but following the basic idea, hiding in plain sight behind a fake.
I was a little disapointed that the joker thing seemed almost like a sub-plot, and that they used the 'Dent becomes 2 face' thing as the main story. That would have been fine if they hadnt told us 5 months prior to the films release that it was going to happen. For that reason, it was frankly beyond predictable, it was more as though you were just going through the motions by acually watching it.
Quite a few people have been petitioning for him to get it post-death. Personally, I think he would have got it if he was alive, but it won't succeed now.
It's called a "posthumous" award. There have already been 2 oscar winners who were nominated after their deaths, plus non-winning nominees, as well as several dozen winners in the academy awards.
Yeah, whenever the Joker in batman the animated series (voiced by Mark Hamel) set up all these intricate plots planning very every contingency or funneling the actions of the people trying to stop him, he's either got an IQ of over 9000 or he just knows batman really well. As for the explosives, I don't think it would be too complicated. A few dozen Barrels of fuel with bombs under them.

Man I love listening to your reviews on games and movies and stuff, but please quit eating and drinking whilst talking. I found it quite distracting and irritating when you constantly bite into a burger, repeatedly slurp or sip from a drink or eat spoonfuls of ice-cream (from the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull review) all the while. As one of the haters of Batman Begins, feel I have to say that I fuckin' LOVED The Dark Knight.

My complaints: Rachel Dawes (in general), the Tumbler (I hate that fuckin' thing), Christian Bale's Batman voice, and Two-Face's story was kinda weak.
Other than that, though, it was fuckin' fantastic, especially Heath Ledger's Joker.

I dont know why, but I left the cinema disappointed as hell. Sure, the movies that came after the two first Batman movies were really fucking bad although I did like Batman Begins.
I guess that the hype got me turned off as well before even seeing this movie and thats probably why I felt like I did after seeing Dark Knight, but if people LOVE this movie then I'm fine with that and I can understand that.

I have to admit that The Dark Knight was one heck of a movie. It did have it's flaws, especially the car chase, but when you are intrigued with the characters and the story, yeah those things can be overlooked. :) As for me, I liked the actress who played Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight than Batman Begins. Other than that, it was a great movie!!!

I think I agree with you on the whole cosplay thing. I don't think it makes the people that dress up any more fans than the people who have waited just as long to see it. If I don't want to dress up, that's a personal choice, but it doesn't make me less of a fan.

This is one review by YOU, i DO agree with, for once, and btw, the reason us fans and geeks, and junk, dress up in costumes and stuff, is because we've been waiting a while and we're celerbrating, because guess what, we care way more about the movies than you do apparently, but yeah, the dark knight was freaking awesome movie, which is probably why i was so disappointed by the special features on the dvd.

oh, and about the little "plot hole" or whatever, about the hospital, it's simple, Joker has OTHER PEOPLE that will do stuff for him, he's got his little clowns that tried to help him capture Harvey Dent, rob the bank, etc. He's has somewhat "henchmen", trust it's possible, i mean it's the joker, plus he also had people hidden in the police force too, so it's quite possible he got people in the hospital as well.

This movie was great, I can't deny. I agree with Spoony on Academy Awards; they sometimes don't pick good people.
I must, however, somewhat disagree with him on Maggie Gyllenhaal. While she did not look as good as she usually does, I didn't think that she was ugly. (I think it was because of the bags under her eyes, looking as if she were an insomniac.)

Another flaw, movie was great though I have it, I bet so many people know about this one, I kind of got mad about how Harvey turned into two face, because as everyone knows he was turned into two face by acid, but in this movie it was gasoline. Great that the girl died but come on that goes away from the comic.

The comics have several contradicting origins for Two-face in themselves, so there is no way to not go away from the comics in some way. And you should have guessed from the first one, but they're not trying to follow the comics exactly, hence why Ra's didn't have LAZARUS PITS to make him immortal. Instead it had the more realistic, but following the basic idea, hiding in plain sight behind a fake.

I was a little disapointed that the joker thing seemed almost like a sub-plot, and that they used the 'Dent becomes 2 face' thing as the main story. That would have been fine if they hadnt told us 5 months prior to the films release that it was going to happen. For that reason, it was frankly beyond predictable, it was more as though you were just going through the motions by acually watching it.

Yeah, whenever the Joker in batman the animated series (voiced by Mark Hamel) set up all these intricate plots planning very every contingency or funneling the actions of the people trying to stop him, he's either got an IQ of over 9000 or he just knows batman really well. As for the explosives, I don't think it would be too complicated. A few dozen Barrels of fuel with bombs under them.

Also he is a master at predicting that actions of "normal" people, that he is able to be two steps ahead. That is one of the most creepy things. He is completely insane, and yet he knows more about you then you do.

Man I love listening to your reviews on games and movies and stuff, but please quit eating and drinking whilst talking. I found it quite distracting and irritating when you constantly bite into a burger, repeatedly slurp or sip from a drink or eat spoonfuls of ice-cream (from the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull review) all the while. Not to mention talking while you have mouthfuls of food is pretty hard to understand and is considered bad manners.

Why on earth have I gotten negative 3? My post above was generally a positive post about Spooney's review. Heck I even ended it with: "Other than this: good job".
The only thing I didn't agree with was his constant eating and drinking which I'm surprised wasn't agreed on by everyone. Unless talking with mouthfuls of food is good thing where you're from?

As one of the haters of Batman Begins, feel I have to say that I fuckin' LOVED The Dark Knight.
The two most common complaints I've heard? Too long, and too much story going on at once. And you know what? I think both of those complaints are a bunch of shit.
My complaints: Rachel Dawes (in general), the Tumbler (I hate that fuckin' thing), Christian Bale's Batman voice, and Two-Face's story was kinda weak.
Other than that, though, it was fuckin' fantastic, especially Heath Ledger's Joker.
