  • A.W's Emu Emulator demos never get boring... lol. The most musically trained member of Depeche Mode

  • Alan Wilder.... Como haces de falta en DM, aun se siente el vacio de tu salida!!!

  • I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hope to see alan for the next tour...

  • the best with martin and dave ;)

  • is that normal that i was listenin to depeche mode when i was 7 years old and watchin the 101 and the devotional tour and was in love with alan lol

  • @sabrinabells no, infact i am the same

  • it`s so sad that DM is now without him .. he was ooo attractive, now ... em ... not so really .. it`s a shame!

  • He's hot!!

  • 1:18 OMG a mistake !

  • teach me alan. I'm thirsty to learn from you...

  • ALAN U ARE THE BEST!!!!!!! ♥

  • Alan Wilder was the perfect replacement for Vince. He was the sonic backbone of DM for so long and an amazingly talented musician. Just my opinion but I completely lost interest in Depeche once he'd left.

I still think Martin Gore is one of the great songwriters of my generation though.

  • thank u for uploading this!! I only had one really worn copy on VHS and i miss watching this part

  • I heard he, along other musicians, are working on a Talk Talk tribute. From what I've heard he's a big Talk Talk Fan specially their two last albums!

  • This is so cool...We have to remember that Gore did wrote most of his song playing the guitar. But without Alan and all his work to make Depeche sound the way they did this band would never ever be close to the sucess they actually did...

Thumbs up everyone who loves the two big pads he got...

  • Who knew learning about musical instruments could be so hot?

  • alan gib mir bitte bitte nachhilfe beim keyboard spielen ,du bist der beste aus depeche mode,,,,,,,,,,,,schade,,,,,,,,,,

  • if anyone's interested - alan's putting that EXACT emax keyboard that you're seeing in this video up for auction, so if you're a really dedicated fan you might want it

  • genius

  • don't you know my sisters told me you're cute... so sad you leave DM

  • He looks like Jean Michel Jarre

  • Who is this guy ? the keyboard tech ?

  • @MrCrgl

the " guy" you are asking about is called Alan Wilder , lead keyboardist and DM sound designer from 1983-1995

  • @MrCrgl Hahahaha....

Do you know who DEPECHE MODE are??....or just the last few albums from them?

  • @ANDRES77 just joking but depeche mode is alive and well without him. This video for you youtube.com/watch?v=zQkwSf-U8QA

  • @MrCrgl ....

Yes, they are alive...still good lyrics, wonderful voice, great shows...but the sound....the music will never be the same without Alan.

  • @ANDRES77 then this video is for YOU youtube.com/watch?v=zQkwSf-U8QA

  • @MrCrgl I saw this video a couple of years ago or more..Haha..it's funny.

I'm not the kind of guy who can't live because Alan is not with the band anymore, I gave my opinion about the quality of the music they used to make and the music they do now...If you know how to read then you can see that I recognized what I still like of the D.M., and as I said before, the musical arragements will never be the same without Alan.

    This is for you:

    youtube.com/watch?v=sCNgQLC0wA8&feature=related

  • @ANDRES77 I still think Martin is the best musician of the band so there will be DM for some time more. I cannot see your video. It redirects me to youtube homepage. Is it a private video ?

  • @MrCrgl Best son writter.. he write the songs only including just the basic chords and the arrangers & producers work with the melodies, rythms, pads and textures, (The musical job, the one that Alan used to do in the band).

Yes, there will be more DM for a while, there is no doubt about it, again.."I gave my opinion about the quality of the music they used to make and the music they do now.", you can notice about it hearing the tracks they play live now and the music they used to play then.

  • @MrCrgl ...

    youtube.com/watch?v=sCNgQLC0wA8&feature=related

  • @ANDRES77 sorry, i dont know why I cant see this video. As I said, it redirects me to youtube homepage.

  • @MrCrgl

I don't know what is hapening but the link works fine in my PC...well, it was great to read you point of view anyway..cheers.

  • Best part of 101

  • what a cool dude !

  • Such a nice guy.

  • ha ha Alan Wilder! ı remember watchıng 101 and thıs scene over and over, when ı was a damn kıd..ı totally agree that wıthout Alan Wilder, DM wıll never be the same agaın..they were unique ın the 80's and early 90's ..the fantastıc four seems to be hıstory, shame..

  • Bravo, bravo and another one time bravo! :)

  • If Alan's face was the last train out of town...I would be ON IT!!!! SOOO HAWT!!!!

  • he's talking about an e-mu emax sampler; my friend has one in his little basement studio

  • Comment removed

  • Alan and his favorite toy:-DD I love DM!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Moglem ogladac to na okraglo;)))))

  • very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Fifty1stState Hey!!!! If you buy the 15th anniversary re-mastered DVD of the 101 film...it has a few extras that explain what happened to a couple of the kids! They interview the punk boy (who has put on several pounds and cut his hair). He now makes dhis own electronic music in his own studio and had a big hit in Germany in the late 90's. PLUS he does talk about the girl. They broke up shortly after the film!!

  • @nsjoemaclover - My replies a bit late, thanks for this. i'll dig it out.

  • @tylenoljunkie If Alan came back to Depeche......I would give him....well......put it this way. He'd be glad he went back! *giggle*

  • i love his voice

  • "Billy Bob was here, he was here too"

I used to have the video of 101. I always wondered what happened to the kids in it, did the punk boy and girl get married?

I'm getting back into DM after a few years off. There's a few songs on Sounds of the Universe I don't personnaly like (I hate peace - toooo poppy for my taste) but love Wrong, Fragile.T. Miles away etc). Dave's vocal style has changed as well, maybe being in the states too long ;o)

  • he's sooo handsome and articulate.

  • sexy!

  • Alan: VOLVE A DEPECHE SOS UN CAPO, DESDE QUE TE FUISTE EL SONIDO Y LA PERCUSION NO FUE LO MISMO, IGUAL ME SIGUE FASCINANDO DM, PERO CON VOS ERA OTRA COSA, ERA TODO MAS MAGICO.

  • Sure my friends, DM lost a very important person.....I as A DM fan my only great regret is his departure....Imagine ULTRA with Alan's musical touch....Just imagine

  • Dear Alan, if you come back to Depeche Mode, I will give you the following things: 1) my used moped 2) my friend's cat Muffles and 3) a slightly nibbled biscuit on the table in front of me.

  • @tylenoljunkie I'll throw in 4) My firstborn child 5) an almost complete collection of Shamen CD's 6) Slightly used pair of cycling shoes. Come on Alan, what do you say?!

  • te adoro Alan, vuelve pronto a DM!!!!!!

  • one of the bect scenes of 101

  • Just had to watch this again. Thank you Depeche and Alan for an incredible moment at the Royal Albert Hall.

What a way to mark 30 years of faith and devotion!

  • come on man!! can you listen to us?

Return to Depeche Mode!! goddam it...

Forgive to Dave, it was along time ago

    brother...

  • no shit.. right. depeche mode is really these 4 guys. dave singing, martin writing and alan doing the sounds and fleshing out the songs. The band hasn't been the same without him.

  • Alan was the innovative one. WIthout him in DM, the magic is long gone, at least in my opinion.

  • Please give us a Depeche Mode Reunion. We miss Alan!!!

  • pls alaln, return with depeche mode!!!

  • alan best, go back to depeche mode

  • ♥.♥

  • i wish he give us more classes of playing synthetizer

  • While he was most certainly the musical genius within DM, it's a shame to think what DM would be today had all could have worked out their differences and gotten back together. I'm sure Andy is in a better place but his attention to detail made DM what they became. Violator catapulted DM into the US and no one could ignore them anymore. While DM has produced a number of good songs without Alan, most of my favorites are still in the days of Alans tenure with the band.

  • @fourthemasses

    His name is ALAN!!! :-)

  • @FunnyJohnJohn My bad....u still feel me though dont ya!

  • @fourthemasses i have to agree, 1983-1995 was probably depeche mode's peak years

  • @fourthemasses Andy is in a better place? wut?

  • @deltamode8 did he died ? who is this guy ?

  • @deltamode8 Typo....meant Alan.

  • Excellent footage. I like the sound arrangements in Depeche Mode's songs.

  • this is fact ...He should not have left DM;(

  • Alan is so elegant.

  • tomorrow we will go to DEPECHE MODE CONCERT my dad was in their concert in HOUSTON TEXAS 1990 with ALAN WILDER. i think he was a important part of band....and DM isnt the same without ALAN...

i want to go on of DEPECHE MODE CONCERT WITH THE FANTASTIC FOUR..!"ALAN,DAVE,MARTIN,ANDREW.!!""

    I LOVE DEPECHE MODE..!!"""

  • Depeche Mode sounds pretty good but not as good as it was when Alan Wilder was in it and he contributed to the sound of DM and the reason DM still sounds great its bcuz they play the old stuff that Alan had so much to do with... nuff said...

  • all the albums post alan are very very good...in some way if alan left...fine..the band stills there..better than ever

  • maravilloso ! ^^

  • why are u fucking noticing what's right or what's wrong in playing 2 sounds instead of hailing Wilder for his compositions....

  • WOAH!!! Alan made a mistake AT 1.19?

(take a look at his right hand, he hits 2 notes at once, instead of one)

I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT! But I Forgive you, because you are a genious!

  • Bottom line, it was Alan Wilder's decision to leave because he was disillusioned with Depeche Mode: Dave Gahan's downward spiral on drugs, the lack of healthy communication between Martin, Andy and Alan and the pressures of being in such a toxic, non-creative, shackled environment. While I do forgive that Alan Wilder walked away, it's unfortunate that once Gahan bounced back and some years had passed that Alan Wilder couldn't include DM back into his creative and artistic life. Life goes on.

  • And, if it's about Alan having his creative freedom to pursue his artistic interests...F*CK THAT! Alan could have accomplished that by being BOTH in DM and solo. He took the easy way out. So NOT cool.

  • While I love Alan Wilder, I will NEVER forgive the fact he walked away from Depeche Mode, the band that GAVE HIM the opportunity to create his vanity project, RECOIL. He could have stuck it out, realizing the BIG PICTURE that Dave Gahan would overcome his demons, Martin and Andy would eventually communicate better down the line and Wilder and company would have bounced back without the problematic Ultra, Exciter, Playing the Angel and Sounds of the Universe. Integrity over selfishness!!

  • "realizing the BIG PICTURE that Dave Gahan would overcome his demons"

How the fuck would he "know" that?

So you're saying that he should have rode it out, through all the bullshit and unhappiness, just for your sake. That's totally not selfish of you at all. Dumbass.

He could easily come back as soon as Depeche Mode realize that had a part in this.

  • @Cancun187 Yank yer noodle keep it up! Yank your noodle dandy!

Mind the music and the step, and with the girls be horny.

  • What a nice chap

  • He left because Dave was too fucked up on the Faith and Devotion tour.

  • i miss you, without u the band made the worst albums

  • We love you Alan! you rock! I wish I could see you with Dm again :'(... you marked a long path we will never forget!

  • Alan te amoooooooo!!!

you are a god and we really miss you ^_^

  • un dios alan wilder

ami no me toco la epoca de alan

pero aun asi me encanta todo lo que hizo con DM

    el grandioso violator

y por haber transformado Enjoy the silence

    el himno de dm

creo que no se le valoro a alan

era, es un hombre muy talentoso

    love alan :D !

    love Depeche mode

  • I always thought he would be the nicest person to talk with. He seems really genuine and intelligent.

  • Happy Birthday to Alan^^

  • Ich trag immer noch voller Stolz Shirt`s mit seinem Namen... zu der Zeit war er ganz besonders hübsch :-)...

  • ist er immer noch :)

  • He's the master !! ;DDD

  • Alan I LOVE YOU !

  • I think Alan Wilder wasted his talent, handsomness and real star potential. He would have to start his solo career earlier and more commercial way.

  • I do not understand a single word of what he says, but still admire it too is a teacher, do not say is the god of music

  • alan wilder

  • Creo que si los discos hubiesen dicho "Producido por A. Wilder y Flood o Hillier, etc", en vez de "Producido por DM", él hubiera tenido una mejor carrera como productor. Es raro que al irse los discos dejaran de decir "Producido por DM".

  • i just bought the depeche mode singles album today im hooked on the song "people are people"

  • Alan Wilder hits a bum note LOL!!!

    We miss you Slick :)

  • Alan is the best^^

  • YA GO ALAN

  • this reminds me of spinal tap except with synths!

  • Yeah :) They admit this on the commentary track as well! Pennebaker the director just decided to keep it because it was so interesting :D
