@melissamajano alcohol will kill the tissue surrounding the "wound" that is trying to heal, you should not use it, use sea salt/water solution or buy "H2Ocean" its a pre-mixed solution with sea salt, cheaper to buy the salt though.

@yzabel2010 sorry for the late reply, umm i would say yes, and for the pain maybe try orajel. it will numb the area for a bit and it is cheap, if not maybe tylonol, or asprin. just be sure not to take more then the labeled dose. id go with orajel and dont play with it for a while, if you clean it this way should clear right up.

i was cleaning my lip ring with isopropyl alcohol for about the first 6 weeks after i had my lip re pierced, then i found out that was bad, and now my lip is pretty infected, i've been using anti bacterial hand soap on it, and soaking it in non idodide sea salt water. will this get rid of the infection? how long do you think before i start to see results?

@TheJlw666 yes this will clear up the infection, just do not touch it with your dirty hands or "play" with it using your tongue, and you should be fine, might see alot of results in as little as a week, good luck to you. :)

@alwaysheather2011 yes, i smoke as well and it made it irritated. and yes its normal to be red if it is new or infected. the thing you must remember is it is an open wound. ya kno? so i mean just try to smoke on the other side of your mouth if you get what im saying and keep it clean and try not to play with it with your hands. just keep it clean and you should be fine

@CookiezzzBoy yes..... you should be sure to clean it alot and if it does not clear it up i would go to a piercing parlor and talk to a professional. it should not be infected for 2 months. try not to play with it with your tongue or hands until it heals.

your piercing looks exactly how mine looks now, i have snake bites and the left one is super swollen and feels like my lip is swallowing my lip ring. I'm going to do it your way for the next couple of days and hopefully the infection will go away cause it looks super bad ass on me :D

From my experience, nope, don't use regular cooking salt. It's to do with what's in sea salt which makes it anti-bacterial. Check out tattoo stores, most should sell it in some form, salt crystals, H2Ocean spray, etc.

@ScrewwPriincess832 honestly you only know if you should take it out. i would say give it a week and clean it like i showed you and if it does not show any signs of it getting better in a week either go to a tattoo/piercing parlor and ask them to look at it, if they say to take it out take it out if not then just keep it clean, soreness is inevitable. its gonna happen, you injured yourself...... but keep it clean and dont play with it and you should heal up fine.

They say not to use peroxide but so far its what has worked the best for me and it gives you REALLY white teeth(Don't try it if you don't have to) but I'm gonna try this because mine is definitely infected and idk how because i cleaned it as i was supposed to & Your shirt is amazing ohh and another reason to dilute your mouthwash is if it contains alcohol it will kill ALL the bacteria when there is good bacteria that is needed for healing...Thanks for doing this video :)_

My lip is getting alot of crust on the front of the lip and its sorta red .. I cleaned it out and a red ring type thing appeared. after like 5 mins it went away.

Okaii so i woke up this morning bigg dried puss around the outside of the ring took it off and it started bleeding....

@pebbz141 it is the infection healing, you want puss out of your lip because it is full of bacteria it most likley blead because it formed like a scab over a wound. the thing you have to reamember is your lip piercing is a wound. it is going to tru to heal. the bleeding was most likley a form of the puss (scab) being pulled off. just make sure you soak it for about 5-10 minutes a day and wash it out after all meals, and snacks.

I have a stud in mine (ring in mail now) I got it down about the 23rd of dec and it has a couple bumps around it on the inside but on the out side it's fine. let me know what I can do to make sure it isn't infected or what I can do to let it heal up if it is.

@jerrodsbored ok well if it is just a few bumps on the inside mine has it to its like when you pierce your ear, if it is not swollen up, or pussing from the hole or just painful, then you should be fine, if you want to make sure then just clean it morning night and after meals, and brush your teeth often and you should be fine

no clear liquid is just your lip healing, it does not mean infection, white yellowy or green means infection and as for the bump, at least if it isn't huge the its fine mine still has it and been about a month, so if it is a little bump its normal. you should be fine, just clean it and you will be good.

1) chew on ice like let the ice sit on your lip the swelling will reduce,

2) take the ball off the outside if its a laberet and just make sure the end of the ring does not go inside your lip (i wouldnt do this unless its like very unbearably tight,)

3) if a piercer did it go get a biger stud, or hoop he should give u a bigger one for free,

4)do a long sea salt soak and wash your hands alot

@CLOWNEE714 your very welcome :) nah the white isnt infection its just dead skin, it happens on the outside also, but because it is not in your mouth it dries up slowly, where as on the inside of your lip it is wet so it stays moist and slimey, thus preserving it :) i am glad it helped :)
