You should hear Iris DeMent do this song. It's on "The Real Tom T Hall Tribute" album. Absolutely stunning.

Yup, I got Iris DeMent's version, it's good but I think Song Writers alway do a better version of their own songs, even Kris Kristofferson although I know a lot of people don't agree with that. There us just one of Tom's songs where, although he wrote it, it was done better by the gal who made it a hit, and that is Harper Valley PTA. (Jeannie C. Riley, 1968)

How can anyone not love Tom T. Hall's brilliant Songwriting? Such great simplicity and so much "down to earth" everyday truth in his Songs.
