Hey bro, this sounds great. And I especially love ur devil's horn when switching the channel. I'm using a Bogner Alchemist and kinda tempted to get this instead since the Bogner is not my sound (too smooth and creamy, I need more grind!!!). And yes, I'm low on budget.
Jeez! will all you guys stop ragging on Line 6 gear. It's great sounding, versatile and affordable. If you can afford to blow $6000 plus on a MESA/Diezel/Cornford/Soldano stack, great! I envy you, but stop coming across as golden eared snobs who feel you can dictate to the rest of us (who aren't as financially fortunate as you) what we should perceive to be a great sounding amp. I've been playing for over 35 years and the affordable gear available today is nothing but good news for new players.
@095MetalHead I play a 212 Spider Valve in my deathcore band and gig with it. It's more than loud enough and while it doesn't get the low end of a closed back cab, it's certainly good tone wise and cuts rather well. I use it personally with the gain rolled back less tham 12 o'clock on the insane channel and it rips with my other guitarists 6505+ head and sounds killer. Its great for metal and deathcore man. Just might need a good noise gate pedal or suppressor at gigging volumes...
Hello, I have the same amp as this and I never got the tone you got out of the clean channels ... how'd you make it sound that nice? how much drive, bass, mid, treble, presence, etc... did you put?
thinking about trading in my flextone iii in for either this or the HD100. not sure which one though. how loud does this thing get? like would you still be able to hear it in a jam sesh? my flextone is a 75 watt solid state and it could never scream loud enough with the jamming.
Somone tell me some advice, Ok, so im 15, i play in my bedroom alot, but i also play stages differant places, So should i get this? OR the marshall MG 100 stack?
Plug into a Fender Super or Diezel VH4 and you will be blown the f**k away.
Line 6 is affordable and versatile. Line 6 is NOT quality tone. I bought the latest and greatest rackmount product from Line 6 and sent it right back... it was horrible compared to a Mesa Triple Rectiifer... and that ain't saying much. The Rectifier doesn't have great tone.
@squirttilithurts yes, you're right, but don't speak about Diezel amps because it's just another level (and price is 4x higher). Line6 is just perfect solution to people who don't want to spend 2000$ on amp and have good tone and versatility. I wrote that they sound awesowe, but I don't expect highest quality of tone, because of price of this amp! For me Line6 Spider Valve is a leader in medium class amps.
Did anyone notice that the direct out put doesn't sound like a speaker emulated cabinet at all? Maybe I am just missing something in the set-up. Any ideas?
I tested this amp in the shop today, and I was really really impressed, even with the cheap Squier Strat I was using. And it's so loud, it will blow yours socks right there. I didn't get to check out all the amp variations, but the clean sound I was using was great. The MkII apparantly is better as you can tweak the presets to a greater extent. I'm seriously considering buying this. Will have to take my guitar to shop and try it properly though. YouTube isn't good enough for that :)
@maciverandy - Hehe. It's amazing how adding or omitting a little preposition can significantly change the meaning. But to answer your question - I will not blow your socks.
@SpiritLevelBubble - I was considering this amp, but the fact that the "pre pre-amp" part is digital put me off. And there is no way of bypassing it and using the amp as a pure amp.
I have since bought a Vox AC15C1, which I think is amazing for the money.
My amps not working!!!! I just got it today but no sound comes out! I tried the tuner, and it works. So my guitar is connected. But no sound comes out of the speakers. Why? please help
@TheeDevilWearsPrada if your not fimiliar with tube amps first you turn it on with the standby switch on standby then after 30 seconds switch it up, so you will end up with both facing upwards. Happend to me years back : (
hi i am having a problem with my spider valve 112 when i have a preset or an amp model and i want to change to something else like (from blues to crunch or from the sweet child to sultans of swing ) the amp gets very loud so when i want to change something do i have to put master at 0 and then fix the channel volume ?
Try adjusting the channel knob. And i think its supposed to be like that. Some presets are really really quiet and some are really loud. It was like that for my spider 3. But I don't think the spider 4 has that problem. not sure.
@g14nnhs sounds like someone is not using the MKII version... had your same issue with my old Spider II or III amp but not the newer Spider IV version which is related to the MKII
no but it sounds a lot bassier now lol. I moved a while ago, and before i moved, my amp was on hardwood. now its on carpet and the sound is a LOT bassier. So yeah...I think carpet sucks lol.
oh, but mine sounded reaally bassy and crappy right after i moved. Do amps sound worse as time passes by? I've had that amp for over a year. Would it be possible that the amp's sound got worse?
Lol, well it wouldn't matter anymore because I just bought a line 6 spider valve 112 lol. But I bought it online. It should be arriving within this week. Did u ever have to replace the tubes?
what was the volume to when u made this video lol. And does carpet change the sound of the amps? Does carpet make amps sound bassier? Because after i moved, my amp sounds like shit now. its so bassy. is it cause of the carpet or what?
lol idk. I was just wondering if carpet make amps sound like crap lol. Oh and do u have to replace the tubes every month or so? how often? and which tubes do you recommend? Should i change the tubes myself or take the amp to a technician? please help. im new to tube amps and i just bought this same exact amp off the internet. thanks! im so confused xD
@PiErRe6363 The 212 has two 12 inch speakers. The 112 only has one 12 inch speak. Hence why they have they name 112 and 212. Basically the 212 will have more 'oomph' and be louder. But conisdering this is a tube amp, you gunna have to have it pretty loud to sound nice, and i mean loudddd. So it depends on your location and living situation.
did you play on insane some song of band pitch black?

Blue Metal is the best for Metal/hardcore i have only one complaint about this amp
in this chanel and any other with higher gain makes an annoying noise for 1 second in the end of any thing you are playing
maybe whith a noise suppressor it leaves me play without complain
sorry for my english i know im bad hahahaha

i have a line 6 spider valve and i have 2 complaints.
1: the amp is too clinically and lacks warmth
2: the way the volume jumps when you switch between presets is driving me insane.
is there a cure for this problem?
FREECHEESECOMPANY 1 year ago
@FREECHEESECOMPANY 2, Setup all your channel volumes so that the they're all relatively similar.
guysullavin 1 year ago
@FREECHEESECOMPANY sure, there is a simple solution to problem 2: just set the presets in the memory of amp in the same volume level.
Problem 1: use knobs :] Really, my blues channel is warm as real expensive tube amp without digital crap.
