The video is definitely squashed a bit. I think that's why some viewers are saying Ann looks heavy. Also she is a curvy woman and very busty (famously so!). All those curves made her a star folks! She continues to fire the fantasies of fans everywhere!
ann-margret is one of my all time favorites. its hard to believe that she just turned 70 years old. she will always be 25 to me. a real class act. mountainbliss1
She is in great shape here...the dress was a bit big birdish but that was the style in 1968. She is in top dancing form here, wish I could have seen her in Tahoe or Las Vegas back in the day!
first let me say that Ann Margaret is show business. She has done it all, tv, movies, specials, everything. She is a legend in my eyes and I'm 32. Secondly, I love her facial expressions when she is dancing, she gets so into it and never misses a step. You think britney could do one of ann Margaret's dance numbers? No way.
Overweight? Bite your tongue-that's definitely the dress. Also-the miniskirt look can make gals look heavy in the bodice when they aren't. Your eyes are drawn to the sleek legs and anything above looks a bit chunky. As a Swedish American I can say that Ann-Margret has dodged the "hefty figure" bullet that affects many of us Nordic types. We tend to get stout as the years go by.
Overweight? Rubbish! You can't dance like that unless you're in tip-top physical condition. The only time A-M was the teensiest bit too heavy was when she deliberately packed on a few extra pounds to play Bobbie in "Carnal Knowledge." And even in that picture, she looked pretty damn good.
I know this is a late response but if you ever read it: are there statistics that show that Swedish Americans or "Nordic types" tend to develop "hefty figures" more than other "types"? It would be interesting to know seeing as we (the Swedes) are well below average comparing to the other OECD countries. Just slightly above the thin French. Maybe something happens to us genetically on the way to Ellis island... ;-)
Yeah, that stout business ain't limited to Nordic types . . .
On a technical note, I wonder if the screen ratio might not be a bit wider than it was when originally broadcast. That makes everyone look much w i d e r.

It was only a one episode thing. Just a little TV special. It aired in 1968.

Ann was very talented... and pretty. I love the red hair. She was great in Viva Las Vegas, with Elvis.
