This is incredible! The login screen looks amazing.

I have seen a LOT of great ideas for the boot splash and login screen and I tell you, Canonical better include one (if not more) of them!

Seriously, I'm not joking. It would be so disappointing if one of these don't make it to the final Karmic release!

All of it was great except for the three animated balls turning into the Ubuntu logo - it is too reminiscent of the Windows Vista/Win7 logo and we should be distancing ourselves from that, not looking like a clone or rip-off.

I really don't think this is a Win7 rip-off, besides this idea was created long before Win7 was around. (see the Ubuntu 8.04 incoming artwork wiki for more info)

Unfortunately though, I think other people would inevitably cry out that it's a copy, only because Karmic will ultimately come out after the official Win7 launch date and everyone will be arguing until the cows come home...
