@bradstrains Thank you very much Brad.. Very much appreciated.. I pride myslef on the details.. I wish I had twice the room to work with... Just imagine , huh ? I am considering a complete make over believe it or not... Just lots of scribbled notes at this point, but we'll see... The Mohawk is a pulling monster and I love it dearly... lol.. Thanks again man...
Great video Doc! I don't know how I missed this! That engine sounds great! I need to get one once I save my money. Getting a job is great in that I know I can spend on what I like but I have to also realize that I can't just spend spend spend without consequences when I am older. Keep the videos coming buddy! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Doc, I'm working outsid this days and I get a very bad connection with my laptop, so I have to wait many many many times to watch your video. And what should I say.. absolut fantastic show! :)
@trainfart My friend, just knowing you take the time out of your day to watch my little vids, is a huge compliment to me, don't worry what day it is... lol.. We are all very busy these days, I for one can attest to that. I don't get on here as much as I used to, so no worries... Thank you for the very kind compliment and I am very happy you enjoyed the little clip... There may be some big changes to the layout in the near future... shush... lol....
Wow Dan that was one hell of a clip my friend!!! Love the sounds on the Mohawk a lot! that whistle never gets old either! I thought the view @ 4:01 was great! Also I liked how you faded in the music after the PFA's....1st class! Great job on the video! 10 stars! :)
@PghTrainFanatic Really appreciate the kudos Nick. I grabbed up those old new stock pass cars for a hell of a deal and thought I'd do one more run before casing up the Mohawk for a bit... The shot exiting the tunnel & traversing the bridge was actually shot from the end of the layout about 15 ft away using the zoom, real bitch to get back to that spot for a normal shot... It's one of the cool, less seen spots on the layout. Did the best I could editing the music with WMM Live. Thanks man....
Awesome Dan! Love the engine and Pullmans! The elephant ears add a lot of character to the steam engines like that one! Also liked the Photographers, I gotta get myself some as well!
@altoonaPArailfanHey Conner, long time man... Glad to see you enjoyed my new big steam & the pass. set... I think they were meant for each other... I am partial to the elephant ears also.. you phrased it well, they add " character " , they also just make it look that much more Bad Ass if you ask me...lol... She does look good without them though, no doubt... As I told Jason, those two railfanners and from Arttista, very nice pieces... I like moving them around here & there... Hope all is well...
@SparrowRidgeRR Thank you for taking the time to stop by JC.. Always appreciated.. Glad you dug the tunes... one of my all time favorite bands from back in the day... Glad you dug the clip enough to rewatch it too !!! I really like how these Lionel Pullmans were made... Nice detail for the money and just the right feel for the loco... The set was actually make for the Comm. Vanderbilt, even has it on the drumhead, but I plan on adding a lighted one anyway... Be Well my friend...
@marxtoynut Thank you Ed.. I felt the dark Pullmans looked better with the vintage window silhouettes... They make a good team with the Mohawk... Wish I could have taken one of those rides back then...
Very cool Dan! How do you activate those sounds with the DCS? It is truly amazing. Also, Where did you find the photographer figures? Awesome video as always!
@JDStucks Hi Jason, Thank you very much man, really glad you enjoyed the clip... On the bottom right side of the DCS handheld is a button marked, PFA, one you activate it, if your moving, you will come to a stop, after the first sequence of talking, you hit the direction button to forward thru the rest till the end, then the loco will resume whatever speed it was at when you hit the PFA. I need to upgrade my TIU so I can use the quillable whistle. Oh, and the photo hounds are Arttista !!!
@JDStucks OMG Jason...you've not know about the PFA button for this long! Man you're missing out bro! lol Better start trying out all your loco's! LMAO!
Hey, I noticed the backwards lettering on the store signage. I had my first cup of coffee and was paying attention. LOL Those smoke deflectors give the Mohawk a grand look. Good job with the filming!
@chiconian49 Hey Chuck, You Win !!! You are the first to mention the last shot... Yes it is indeed a mirror image shot... LOL.. I wanted to see if anyone noticed all the backward writing and the train traveling the wrong way to the mountain... Too funny... I love the elephant ears on the Mohawk, but they do cover up some of the details like the builders plate.. so I run it both ways... Thank you for the very kind compliments my friend !!!
Dan, You and Heath have some of the most wonderful details on your high scale layouts. I'm always looking for something I may have missed before, so pay close attention to your vids. I know the added elephant ears on my 333 hide a lot of the loco's detail as well, however they also make it unique. I get tired of looking at the same 'Ol Thing.'
Bloody hell mate, that was AWESOME!!! I just got home from work, ripped open a cold beer and found this little pearler!! GOOD STUFF!! =D Steam and Deep Purple, what a mix!! I was rockin' away and I still got my boots on! Great work Dan, keep it comin'!!
@teddybeareleventeen G'Day Mate !!! Always makes me smile to know I'm rocking Big Stews boots Down Under !!! You know, I've had music blocked before, but this was the first time I've had a video completely blocked for " The Whole World " LOL.. For Deep Purple ? Really ? Sheesh... But it is a rocking vid !!! And that poor SOB Fireman.... lol... Hope all is well my friend, stay in touch !!! Cheers !!!
Dan that was awesome!!! I have always liked the way the Mohawk looks and it's right at home pulling those heavyweights!! Cool tunes also my friend!! Keep the videos coming!!
@aocruiser Thank you very much Anthony... I really do love this loco, and aside from picking up a Niagara, it's about as big a loco as I think fits my current layout size... Like a Big Boy would just be out of place... She does look equally good pulling the Pacemakers & the Pullmans... Planning on adding a few cars to the Pass set... Glad you enjoyed the classic rock ( read real rock )...
Awesome steamer dude! Love it! My railroad would love to get a mohawk up there but it wears down the rails which will cost more money for maintenance- maybe one day LOL Sweet pass cars too! hell yeah Deep Purple!
@Southerntreatment Hey Joey, thank you Buddy !!! Glad you enjoyed it.. Glad I don't have any brothers named Elwood... LOL... As far as the track goes, I've been running on a lot of this Atlas-O for close to 10 years now... Don't really see me wearing these rails down anytime soon... Tubular, yeah, but not this solid stuff... But if something is going to, it would be the Mohawk... lol... The subdued colors of the Pullmans naturally lend themselves to looking aged. Hope everything is cool for you.
@lionel153 Thanks man... The music Nazis blocked the whole video because of the song at first... But they are quick to post the links to where you can buy the song. They profit, not I... Anyway, glad you enjoyed the vid my friend...
Amazing Detail ! Drive rod action is awesome! And powerful pulling all those heavy weight cars!
