Damn, not THIS is exactly why I HATE buying used vehicles - Dipshits that ABUSE their vehicles! That starter should be just about completely fucked after all the over-cranking. What a tool. All you need to do is bleed the system out. Loosen the feed line going to the injection pump, cycle the ign switch a few times to activate the lift pump. Then, with a 19MM wrench, loosen the #3, #4, & #5 injectors. Crank engine to purge air. If still no start, loosen up #1, #2, & #6 and crank her over again.

put fuel in... turn the key and open the hood on the back of the injector pump is a bleeder button.. push it untill you hear fuel shooting threw it. then jump in and turn it over a couple times.. and if it dont start do it again... and it will fire right up.. i had a 95 with a 5.9 cummins and the fuel guage didnt work right and i ran it out of fuel like 10 times a month... so its freaken easy to start them back up

You should have primed the system, all you did was fry the starter cranking it like that. I agree with Loganwillycummins, if you bump the starter it primes the system because it starts the fuel pump without actually having to keep cranking the truck.

You know all you have to do is crack a couple of injectors loose until they start spittin out fuel and then put the injectors back in and it will fire right up. When you do that it primes itself.

or just put fuel in the tank and use brake cleen not ether but brake clean spray it in to intake ( pull out air filter and spray in there) only if motor is cranking. and hold the fuel pedal to the floor it will start rite up it will sound really scary but it doesnt hurt anything and starts it quick if u dont have tools on hand to get the filter off. now all of you r going to say brake cleen will wash the cylinders down but it doesnt because it is so flammable it starts to burn as soon as it in

a 94 to the first part of 98 dodges with the 12v has a primer button to prime up the pump unless u have changed the stuff out, these year models dont have a electric fuel pump on side of motor like the 24v cummins has, u wear out ur starter and drain ur batteries and more wear and tear on injection pump and so forth, my advice either drop filter off and fill it up or just use the primer button on side of motor.......

now im not trying to tell you how to do your bisness or anything but the first thing that your going to want to do is put at least 5 galons of fuel in the tank and then re prime the sistem by refilling the fuel filter and thencycleing the key 10 or 15 times and then try and crank on it but you dont want to crank for more than 30 sec i ran my 6.7 L cummins out of fuel not on purpose but by acdent and if you follow theise steps it should start a lot faster

@omedrud Cycling the key will do nothing for this truck, if it was a 24 valve then cycling the key would help. unless he installed a fass or airdog fuel pump, The 12 valves have mechanical pumps on them. There is a primer button on the side of the pump that would help you out.... Crack the bolt on the top of the filter housing and prime that bitch up... or you could just have not been so poor and bought some diesel ... its only $3.75 now lol
