  • Thumbs up if you're here because of Patton Oswalt

  • Also, 4:46

"Alvin.. what the FUCK are you doin"

  • Why are the chipmunks in hell? They drove a limo into a school for mentally challenged paraplegic children.

    And now you know.

  • me i want a hoooooooooooooooooola hooooooooooooop omg

  • Theodore's voice :D "YEAH, LET'S SING IT NOW!" Sounds so wrong, and so right.

  • Theodore sounds high as fuck

  • Of course this Liberty record used the soundtrack of the first Chipmunk cartoon (the first reboot of the characters, to make them milder for tv viewers). The record faded out the volume and omitted the CRASH of the christmas tree resulting from the quarrel.

  • I have played my Chipmunk Song record at 33rp and gotten something like this . I was sillier back then.

  • Thumbs up if Patton Oswalt sent you

  • i think it's funny that alvin sounds like Jello Biafra

  • Simon is going to rape Theodore.

  • Then go to Paheal/rule34.

  • @EmmetEarwax Go to 34? Why the fuck do I want to see furry shit? Look at the picture, Simon looks fucking scary.

  • The tall one looks like Karl Pilkington.

  • @Zachhay11 In order to look like Karl Pilkington, he's gotta have a head like a f#&%ing orange!

  • 3:05 Natur- aly

  • Patton, you are the funniest comedian I know.

  • Why does everyone think the chipmunks are so great? I'm particularly disappointed in Jason Lee.

  • @Mxlsptlk The new Chipmunks suck.

  • Yes, the whole concept got Crisis-rebooted. The 80's version built up a layered storyline with a Miss Miller and Uncle Harry and the like. There have been 3 feature films and these supporting characters seem to have never existed now.

A fan-fic had the 80's chipmunks meet their 21st century versions (Simon is NOT capable of time travel, actually.) and I would like to know how the author mangled logic to do this.

  • The 80's version of the Chipettes inspired me to do stories with characters of mine like Citronella Peterson, Skip & Sis Waldo, Honeybunch, Peter & Earwing Cruise, and the Marsh family. I haven't cartooned, tho., in ~16 years.

  • @Mxlsptlk I love the chipmunks, ever since I was a little girl, but the movies ruined them and they suck.

  • lol

  • I love the nervous laugh at 3:09. "Heheheheh... sure Satan ol' pal, whatever you say."

  • Aye, Patton Oswalt...just as...exciting...as I expected it to be from his impression.

  • Tis the season.

  • AAAAAAAAAALLLLLVVVVVVVVVVVOOOOOOONNNNNNN

LOOOOL that made me piss myself :p

  • I used to have a reel-to-reel tape recorder with a 3 3/4 ips and a 7 1/2 ips setting. My friends and I would talk slowly into the mike at the 3 3/4 setting then play it back at 7 1/2. So we would make our own Chipmunk recordings!

  • Patton Oswalt was right!!!!

  • Slowed down, this is the most depressing song ever.

  • 0:36

  • featuring satan ... lmfao!

  • at 3:06 it sounds like a stoner talking to the prince of darkness according to my dad xDDDD

  • I shat myself in terror.

  • John Cheese @JohnDiesattheEn brought me here, but @PattonOswalt is still awesome.

  • The serial rapists are on their mating season again.

  • LET'S SING IT NOW

  • dave sounds like a demon from the 9th layer of hell

  • 3:24 holy fuck!

  • @Caseymb2 lol thanks. photoshop ftw

  • From 2:44-3:25 is the part Patton Oswalt was referring to. Sounds like it belongs in a death metal album.

  • Ya gotta love an old turntable with a 16 speed setting .

  • 3:23 you have now gone from level 9 to level 10

  • from the ninth level of murderers and traitors

  • Patton Oswalt''s my hero.

  • AAAAAALVVVVVVINNNNNN... HOOOOOOOKAAAAAAAAAYYYY

  • Stoner laugh around 3:08

  • Are people really this oblivious to older technology?? It's not magic, actual chipmunks, or rocket science.. XD wow.

  • 4:46 sounds like he's saying "Alvin's......what the fuckin' worthless!"

  • Years ago, I was goofing around with a Chipmunks album. I had a phonograph turntable that had a setting where you could spin the record by hand, and played the album slowly, about half speed. Listening to the "Alvin Twist", I found that Alvin and David Seville were one and the same! I doubt that Bagdasarian did all the Chipmunk voices. He wasn't Mel Blanc; doing all would require much more studio time, and mixing techniques were less sophisticsted back then. This is great! How did you do it?

  • lol audacity has pitch and speed adjustment

  • @bls3562 He sang all of it alright. Its not that difficult, its just harmony.

  • @NatratAtattat The point is that this this sort of studio trickery (varispeed) was not commonplace at the time that this was recorded -- and it was certainly not as easy to do as it is today. So, no, although the harmonies are not the most complex, it isn't "easy", and shouldn't be so easily dismissed. When you see art in retrospect, it can seem "easy". Like "Oh, Sistine Chapel, eh? Meh. Get me a copy of Photoshop and a laser printer and we'll have this ceiling covered in no time." Get it?

  • @SirRichardWentworth Well comparing the Sistine Chapel with SIMPLISTIC 3 part Harmony Is totally unneeded.

Just because the EFFECT was somewhat unique and he had to sing slowly donesnt change the fact that the harmony is fairly simple.

  • @NatratAtattat Of course it doesn't change the fact that the harmony is relatively unadorned... Your response to bls3562 seemed to miss the fact that he or she was in awe at the way that this song was put together (again, in an era before digital pitch correction/alteration, and early in the lifespan of multi-tracking). I was simply pointing out that your choice to focus on the "simplicity" of the harmony ignored the other factors that make this an interesting composition.

  • @NatratAtattat Don't confuse "simple" (as in unadorned, or pared down) with "simplistic" (dumb) or "easy".

  • @bls3562 Bagdasarian does the voice of Dave and all the chipmunks on the first record. After that they used female voice artists because they could speed up the track less and get a more understandable voice and better singing tone when they weren't speed up so much.

  • @bls3562 Oh he certainly did all the Chipmunks voices! If you were to try and attempt chipmunk vocals, you'd find just the slightest change in pitch can make a difference between one "voice" to another.

  • Thanks for this. Great...

  • OH JESUS I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD IT BURNS IT BURNS IT BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURNS *eyes catch flame*

  • Btw Dave Seville (Ross Bagdasarian) is all of the chipmunk's voices. He just speaks (and of course sings) in different pitches.

  • ROFLMAO

    Dave sounds like satan!

  • that fucking laugh at 03:10 hahaha

  • creepy!!!

  • this is what the song sounds like when your drunk off your ass.

  • thats funny as hell, but is that how they really sounded?

  • You know that laugh when you feel that you are about to cough terribly...... its at that point. Like an old man wheezing.

  • i stiiwl waahut a hoowuluh hwoop lol

  • did they really record it in slow mo so this is what it was actually recorded like?

  • nah they had real chipmunks

  • @runcmd32 Hahaha

  • @runcmd32 ahahahahaha you win forever

  • Yes, they really recorded it slow That was the technology they had back then.

  • @kenyadigthemusic, yep, three guys recorded this and Satan had a guest spot in the album, but in order to not frighten the general public, they sped it up.

  • "A Patton Oswalt Christmas"

  • the "WITH Satan" in the cover title is what kills me. hahaha

  • I love Theodore's laugh slowed down xD

It sounds like an awkward guy who laughs with uncertainty

    "Very good theodore"

    "Eh, ha, ha, hahha?"

  • ALLLVIIINNN!
