I still plan to make videos, but they might be few and and far between for a while; we shall see.

Can you tell me what you did to make the sucker-things on the underneath of the octopus's testicles? I'm designing a tattoo, and it will be complete once I've learned to do this. Your help would be massively appreciated. :D

Well there's really no trick to it. You essentially just have to draw a lot of little doughnut/torus shapes and shade them accordingly. The only thing to watch out for is make sure they line up with the perspective and foreshortening of the tentacle to a believable degree. Your best bet is probably to just dig up some reference photos and do a few studies of them on a separate piece of paper. :)

Thanks so much to everyone for the kind comments! I read and appreciate every single one!

To answer a few of the commonly asked questions so far:

It took about 6 hours to paint

It was painted in Adobe Photoshop

It was painted on a tablet (Wacom Cintiq 21UX to be exact)

And on a related note, I'm pretty much self-taught. If you're interested in art, all it takes to get good at it is pencils, paper, and lots and lots of practice.

I've seen my friend do art, and she's fantastic even though she's just in high school, don't get me wrong, but it takes her DAYS, sometimes WEEKS, to do her absolute best work.

I know she's not the fastest artist by any means, but when I saw this I had assumed it had taken you at least a couple days to complete it. Hardcore going at it, with that.

That fact that you did this in 6 hours is almost as amazing as the painting itself.

@felixvelariusbos Well, time has a lot to do with how it's painted. It often takes me 6-8 hours just to paint a single character. The reason this didn't take as long is because I left many areas roughly rendered (notably the water and sky).

This could easily have been a 20+ hour painting if I hadn't had a deadline. I would've spent a lot more time with the composition and rendering. But seeing as I didn't have 20+ hours, I had to eliminate certain parts of the process.
