In downtown Vancouver bike lanes have created traffic havoc and chaos, leading to more cars standing there wasting gas, with empty bike lanes around them. It was a bad idea. The money for bike lanes should go into public transportation and roads. Sorry, the vast majority of people will never ride a bike to work. We shouldn't waste money just to please a few bike riders.

Can somebody explain to me how paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to an outside consulting firm like KPMG to tell Torontonians how to find "efficiencies" (read cuts) in their city, makes any sense? I thought Rob Ford wanted to stop the famous "Gravy Train" at City Hall! I did not vote for Rob Ford and I find his policies and cuts not in the city's best interest. I find it appalling that he finds social programs, libraries, arts funding and much more something that can be easily cut without even thinking about what the short and long term effects are.

How do you like your "Gravy Train" hero now...on his "efficiencies" (cuts) list are: firing up to 500 police officers, elimnating 2,000 daycare spaces, meaning the City will wash its hands of them and privatize them, cutting snow clearing, garbage removal, eliminating medical support for the elderly and disabled (cutting Wheel Trans etc.), firing thousands of City employees thus increasing an already high unemployment rate (Toronto 8.5%, Canada 7.4%, and the gap is only increasing)...

I thought Rob Ford wanted to stop the famous "Gravy Train" at City Hall! So the City is 700 billion dollars in debt, but this guy spends taxpayers money on outside consultants to find out what his own employee could have told him for free...way to go "Ford Nation"!
