  • One of the best music writers ever and the best hard rock writer ever. Anyone with a cursory knowledge of Ozzy's music knows this is the man responsible for the success the Osbourne's know today. As one poster mentioned you need only to read the lyrics on the first two records to know who was responsible. Ozzy is an entertainer - not a lyricist. God bless you Bob and Lee.

  • with all due respect to Rob Trujillio and Mike Bordin, the re-recorded Blizzard and Diary albums are unlistenable, more so if you know and cherish the originals. the mix and purity of the Rhoads, Daisley, Kerslake combination was so real and created (obviously) by three people in the same space breathing the same air. it was a brilliant platform for Ozzy's talent, and people need to know that Bob Daisley cemented Ozzy's legacy by giving him beautiful lyrics to work with.

  • he is one of my main influences on the bass, along with Jason Newsted.

  • Bob was also in Kahvas Jute who had two albums back in australia then he played on chicken shacks unlucky boy album, was also in a band called widowmaker who had 2 albums in the 70's as well as rainbow and all his other bands over the years he's great

  • i love all the damn people on here for knowing this story its about time i found other people. thank you for making my day

  • Listen to the lyrics on the Diary album and tell me this man is not a genius. Ozzy couldn't get the timing on the song Diary of a Madman never mind write the lyrics. He never got his due respect and probably never will. Why Ozzy and Sharon screwed him is beyond me.

  • Amen... Randy Rhoads TOGETHER with Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake saved Ozzy's life, let alone his career. Sad what money can do to people, Sharon is a despicable greedy person (and Ozzy is her powerless puppet). Long live Randy, and thanks to Daisley and Kerslake for creating the magic.

  • It's amazing how people think that Ozzy came up with these tunes. Even Max Norman is on Bob's side. Only a handful of people know what went on back then and Max is one of them.

  • Ozzy wanted it to be a band effort, Ozzy and his slave driver wife wanted it to be Ozzy solo. Therein lied the problem.

  • The lyrics on the first two Ozzy albums are awesome, and Daisley was obviously the mastermind behind the whole deal. The lyrics are very steeped in mysticism, gnosticism, esoteric knowledge, psychedelic shamanism, and astral travel. I think Geezer basically did the same with Black Sabbath, wrote the lyrics, and probably the riffs. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage are awesome too.

  • Great comment! - and yes, the working situation in Sabbath was the same as with the Blizzard of Ozz band,... again Ozzy wrote very little, if any lyrics, although the vocal melodies are mostly Ozzy's; ... it was all Geezer & Bob who gave the "insightful soul" the world at large perceives as "Ozzy" through the lyrics.

And it is only due to $harons lies working through her million dollar propaganda machine, that $he has been able to basically discredit all those who truely are the real musicians

  • I still like Ozzy singing the old Sabbath lyrics and Sabbath never came close to going beyond what they did when Ozzy was in the band. I don't think Ozzy would have ever done very well at all either if it weren't for Daisley and RR. That's too bad Ozzy has to take credit for others work.. Thanks a lot for posting this interview.

  • Agreed, on all counts. And you're more than welcome, glad you enjoyed it; but all the thanks really goes to Bob.

  • Yep...definitely the best 2 sab albums.

I was really disillusioned when I found out that Ozzy didn't right the lyrics to Blizzard and Diary...but it makes a lot more sense now that Bob did. Those two albums have brilliant performances by everyone......from Randy to Ozzy, Bob and Lee. Perfect band.

  • There so many great comments on here, all recognizing Bob and Lee for their superb contributions to Blizzard and Diary.

The only two Oz album for me, besides Sabbath.

  • Yep, since Bob's not in the band, ozzy puts out crap like " I don't wanna stop" No where near the lyrical content of Blizzard of Oz and Diary.

  • Kudos to Bob and Randy Rhoads!(R.I.P.)

  • Bob Daisley sure is a creative genius. Te greed of Sharon and Ozzy in this matter is terrible. That is some horrible karma. I love Ozzy and Sabbath but this is inexcusable. Sabbath did it to all their keyboardists as well.

  • Was shafted by Ozzy and Sharon Osborne.

  • bob daisley is a creative genius!

  • bob daisley rocks

  • bob daisley is the man
