@xD3ADLYA55A551Nx Kbits/sec helps you keep a better picture, i recommend you use 8000 or 9000 to keep the best video resolution that you had when you first captured that way you can read the letters alot better so they wont be to blurry or squished up
can u help me? I cant import at all. Its not picking up my camcorder even though its plugged in fine. It just shows the internal lap top camera for talking on skype and things like that but I cant import movies at all. Any suggestions.? Thanks..!! Dan
@YoungFellow06 I used audacity a year ago with Pinnacle Studio. You will need to save out the audio as a .wav or .mp3 file. Remember the folder you saved it in. Now go to Pinnacle and from your audio select the pointer to that folder. You will see your audio and all you need to do is drag it into the timeline.
@tucker5343 To set this up. I use the AVID Vocal Studio which is a USB mic. I make sure that I have it plugged in to my computer first. Computer will recognize it by installing drivers. Launch Pinnacle Studio 14 and look under Setup under the drop down menu. Select Video and Audio Preferences and you will see a setting for Voiceover Microphones. Select that drop down menu to set up your USB Mic for Pinnacle Studio.
@tucker5343 Capturing Audio from a Voiceover on the timeline. Once you finished selecting your USB mic (my previous response) now it is time to record your voiceover. Makes sure that you have video in your timeline. Put the cursor at the beginning. Go to pulldown menu select Toolbox and select Record Voiceover. This opens up Audio toolbox. No push record button...clear your throat because you have a 3 second countdown till you start speaking! Stop button puts VO in timeline.
@jjimarollingstone There are two ways to get full screen playback. The first way is to click on the small icon in the top right corner just above the video window. The other way is just to double click on the video window and your video will go full screen. To close the large windown just hit the ESC key on the keyboard of your computer.
I am extremely disappointed with Pinnacle Studio 14. I purchased it with the intention to convert my old VHS tapes into DVD format, however, this program cannot synchronize voice and image. Again, if your video output is not NTSC, it won't recognize any colours. I feel like I have wasted my money and time. Here is some advice: DON'T BUY IT! There is better stuff in the market.
No matter what i do, Pinnacle always speeds up the video and the audio cant catch up. plus it lags all the time when its recording, regardless of the settings.
@GoKnicks14 Are you capturing analog video using RCA/Svideo cables to capture via a Moviebox or Dazzle? This is hard to trouble shoot but it may be the speed of your computer that is causing that problem. I find if I am capturing to my C hard drive and also running the software from my C drive I will have an issue. You are fighting a battle if you are trying to do those two things at the same time. This may just be one fix. I am going to send you a link to more answers.
@Shewless There are two toolboxs:One for audio and one for video. Under video you will see a bunch of buttons that will let you create a Pan and Zoom on a photo to creating a title to adding a Filter, which is an effect on your clip, to your Video. Under Audio you will also see buttons. Those buttons will let you Mix Audio to Record a Voiceover to Adding Audio Filters. Do not be afraid of the buttons in there! Just click and experiment!

@jooshep1 I am seeing a theme with that last question. Again I am not sure of the question but I will try. To change audio you want to add a Speed Change to the clip. Open the audio toolbox and select the plug in Button. You will then see an effect called Speed add Speed to your audio and you will be able to speed it up!
@RaNdOmElEcTrO I am a little confused with the question. Are you trying to add slow mo to your video? If yes, then open video toolbox and click on the plug in button. You will then see an effect called SPEED...add it to your video clip and you will be able to speed up or slow down your video.
@Leonelfreak The "!" means that your titles are not there or they have been moved off of your hard drive or they were never loaded with the program. Where the titles ever there before? If yes, then I would reload the software. Someone may have moved them or you may have accidently deleted them or moved them. As long as the "!" is there it is telling you that Pinnacle Studio can not see the assets!
@xD3ADLYA55A551Nx First you will need a microphone of some kind...check your computer you will see a mic input next to the headphones or you can purchase a USB Microphone like the Avid Vocal Studio to use with Pinnacle Studio. You will notice in the Audio Toolbox an icon of a mic. Click on this microphone and it will do a 3-2-1 countdown for you...simply start talking and a voiceover will be placed in the audio track from where the cursor is...stop talking and recording stops. @JTGillray Is there audio in the track? Sometimes you have video and audio selected when capturing but that does not mean the audio came in. So you need to check this. Do you see the audio meters bouncing to show that audio is actually there? If you are playing audio and you do not see the meters bouncing then the audio is not there. Do you have the audio track muted? (mute button on right of track)
@JTGillray If you are using Pinnacle Studio it is easy to create a voiceover...make sure that you have a microphone hooked up to your computer...the select the Microphone which is located under the Audio tools...place the cursor in an audio timeline of where you want to start recording voiceover...when you select play you will see the video playback and you will be able to record your voice while watching the video...when you stop the Voiceover will drop into the timeline.
@StxpSniping You can add any .mp3 or .wav file that you own to your videos...make sure they are on your computer and then locate it in the album (similar to searching in windows explorer) and drag it to the audio timeline...any of the two tracks at the bottom. To trim video you can use the cut tool (looks like a razor blade) or simply grab the end of the video and pull it towards the left to trim end or start from from of video and pull right to trim front.

I need help big time!!! I'm trying to hook up my tritton ax180 to my laptop which has windows 7 on it. It won't let me record voice over so i go to control panel and test the mic and it says its working but the audio and video preferences tab won't let me choose a mic in the drag down section. This may be a dumb question, but at the end when you talk about standard vs hd settings....does it matter what kind of cables you use? I have a HD tv (with HDMI cables); however, I play all of my FPS games on standard (old tube) tvs. So, I use splitters with my dazzle capture card for the red, white, and yellow cables. Can I still have "HD quality" sent to my capture card while still playing on the 480 on my standard tv? What would be the best thing for me to do? I have vids on my channel.

Every time I try to open the Import step, the program stops responding and generally I'm forced to restart my computer cuz of that.... The Editing step seems to work fine as far as I can tell though... If anyone knows a solution, please reply to this comment :o

I have been working with Pinnacle since version 7 came out. It looks good, but it is programmed by a bunch of high school students. It hangs, locks up, blows up, puts water marks on stuff you have purchased and unlocked. Today I worked all day on a 1 hour training video. When I went to render it out as a .mpg file it went to the time line at 10 minutes and stopped. I don't need this. I am looking for a video editor that works. They dollar you to death when you want extra things.

@Dusty6766 Ok OK calm down, now the serial code is on the C.D. that came with the Dazzle package. If you lost the C.D. case it came with then thats an issue...
@RegretfulEnd if you have a dazzle you cant do that option you have to have audio on and your mic off if you get a pvr though like i just ordered you can record everyone's voice but you need an optical cable i think thats what it's called
@RegretfulEnd I've never had it not record the voice of the game before. Sorry, i am no help for that :( but if the sound is lagging while you're editing it, just remove the clip (that has worked for me). If you're trying to get commentary on the video, that is what I am working on too. The better bet it to look that up.

Hi, just started using edditing programs and so on, and then i open for example pinnacle i dont have a connection between the program and the files where all the effects are, so does anyone know how i can put in all the files at one time or do i have 2 bring just the files i need in my specific project? glad if someone could give a hint to a beginner ;)
can someone tell me why the fuck i can't save my videos!? i saved it to the documents, videos, my videos, my projects, etc. i try to open it and it says it's unable to open or i need permission from the administrator.

First of all, "underneath the filename box" was no place to select mpeg 2, second of all, when i click start capture nothing happens. And yes i do have it set up correctly. @PanamaC1 Open your audio settings, and change your initial capture settings. Its the microphone emblem near where your video slids will be after you record.
@Sharkpredator If you buy a Dazzle capture card, you can run AV cables from your video out jacks on your T.v into your dazzle, then it should come up when you select the dazzle for your capture device. Idk if this is what u tried. good luck
@DodgyDan4 If your tv has a Audio/Visual Out port then put the AV cables that go from the dazzle there. If it doesn't then the only way you can have it on your tv is by having a splitter.

@xJukz dont bother, its so simple to do, record voice using audacity and import music to video in pinnacle, no need to give a tutorial on that, allthough you probably should cause with the amount of idiots on youtube youll get tonns of views from retards who cant understand the words import music

I need help big time!!! I'm trying to hook up my tritton ax180 to my laptop which has windows 7 on it. It won't let me record voice over so i go to control panel and test the mic and it says its working but the audio and video preferences tab won't let me choose a mic in the drag down section. This may be a dumb question, but at the end when you talk about standard vs hd settings....does it matter what kind of cables you use? I have a HD tv (with HDMI cables); however, I play all of my FPS games on standard (old tube) tvs. So, I use splitters with my dazzle capture card for the red, white, and yellow cables. Can I still have "HD quality" sent to my capture card while still playing on the 480 on my standard tv? What would be the best thing for me to do? I have vids on my channel.

Every time I try to open the Import step, the program stops responding and generally I'm forced to restart my computer cuz of that.... The Editing step seems to work fine as far as I can tell though... If anyone knows a solution, please reply to this comment :o

WTF i cant make videos... when i finish and click make movie and do all the good stuff, when i click create file the file browser comes up and i do my thing. as soon as i click save studios stops making the file like a fucking retard. i worked on this project for 5 straight hours with no sleep... I have been working with Pinnacle since version 7 came out. It looks good, but it is programmed by a bunch of high school students. It hangs, locks up, blows up, puts water marks on stuff you have purchased and unlocked. Today I worked all day on a 1 hour training video. When I went to render it out as a .mpg file it went to the time line at 10 minutes and stopped. I don't need this. I am looking for a video editor that works. They dollar you to death when you want extra things.

If you do then Open AM Cap and do it all while recording at the start and make sure the options are on SECAM B for AM Cap!

@RegretfulEnd if you have a dazzle you cant do that option you have to have audio on and your mic off if you get a pvr though like i just ordered you can record everyone's voice but you need an optical cable i think thats what it's called

Sorry, i am no help for that :( but if the sound is lagging while you're editing it, just remove the clip (that has worked for me). If you're trying to get commentary on the video, that is what I am working on too. The better bet it to look that up.

I appreciate your trying to help, but as you didnt actually show the capture process you did not help me. First of all, "underneath the filename box" was no place to select mpeg 2, second of all, when i click start capture nothing happens. And yes i do have it set up correctly. (This is not because of your video) but you should have shown it with the dazzle, instead of jus saying "over here there is a box" Anyways a decent and informative video done with style, It just doesnt help me

@PanamaC1 Open your audio settings, and change your initial capture settings. Its the microphone emblem near where your video slids will be after you record.

@Sharkpredator If you buy a Dazzle capture card, you can run AV cables from your video out jacks on your T.v into your dazzle, then it should come up when you select the dazzle for your capture device. Idk if this is what u tried. good luck

@DodgyDan4 If your tv has a Audio/Visual Out port then put the AV cables that go from the dazzle there. If it doesn't then the only way you can have it on your tv is by having a splitter.
