  • Cool, if you take a look at my blog post, you will see that is exactly what it is.

    I have however added normal maps to the terrain.

    And you are right, it is a great place to start.

  • Looks like Reimer's tutorial but with fog applied. I recently added fogging and distance-based alpha blending to my terrain, water and billboard shaders and I'm fairly pleased with the result.

    Playing around with these things is definitely a good place to start and a good way to learn how to use HLSL.
